Along with all the ancient sites and monuments, this is one of the places I absolutely have to see when I visit Greece. I'm an Ashkenazi Jew myself but, a few years ago, I discovered the Romaniote Jews and their roots in Ioannina. I'm not sure how much is left after World War Two, but I'm still curious to see this beautiful city. Greetings from Los Angeles, California!
I visited Ioannina about a month ago and just loved it, a very picturesque town by a beautiful lake and lots of good restaurants as well. ONE IMPORTANT THING, however, and that is if you plan on taking a bus there from anywhere in Albania, just know that there are NO BUSES to take you back!!! IDK what the problem is but there weren't even buses from Ioannina to the border of Albania, not sure if Greeks just don't like Albanians, lol, but that made for a costly return trip as I had to take a taxi to the border and then another taxi to Vlore (where I'm currently staying). So while you can pay just 20 euros to get from Vlore to Ioannina, it'll cost you 150 euros to get back, smh, and is a great example of the old saying, "You can't get there from here" ;?D

Ioannina is well inside the Greek border. As such it is a Greek city “belonging” to Greece .im not greek I'm just saying
