first heard panditji on a winter morning in delhi - zini zini chadariya. it was like krishna revealing his glory to arjuna. was mesmerised and hooked as a bhakt for life...listening to him is immersion in spirituality...
this is the strongest memory i have of my childhood . . . a national panasonic tape player . . . early in the morning . . . rendering out the kumar in all his supreme glory . . . and my father humming along . . . i am thankful to the powers that be !
Raga nand and kumaraji a perfect combination. What a melody. This man made classical music exciting. This raga is ' Anand ras' Pradhan. Kumaraji has extracted as all the extract of the composition.
having tremors to post comment on this video .... I m speechless... i donno what to say .... panditji's voice is a connection between GOD n human being......
wah!... kamaal kar diya! I had never heard Kumar Gadharva before, and am totally mesmerized. I spent all my not knowing something this awesome actually exists... WAH!!!

Lyrics Rajan, ab to aaja re Rajan, aaja re Thir na rahat kajraa Aakhan mein rajan (Piya) Ab na sahu re Chhab tori aa gayi Aakhan mein rajan Ab to aaja re
It literally means: O king, at least now come to me / the kohl does not stay in my eyes // I cannot bear it any more / your image has come to my eyes. raajan = king, but is used as a term of endearment for the beloved ab to aa jaa = at least now (i.e. now that it has been so very long, and now I am crying) kajaraa = kaajal, kohl (used as eyeliner). The naayikaa (speaker) is saying that because she is crying, the kohl is not staying firm (thiir) in her eyes but running down her cheeks. chhab = your picture or image. The naayika says she is seeing only him in her mind's eye and she cannot bear his physical absence any more.

wow..can somebody post the meaning of this bandish? thank u so much..
It literally means: O king, at least now come to me / the kohl does not stay in my eyes // I cannot bear it any more / your image has come to my eyes.
raajan = king, but is used as a term of endearment for the beloved
ab to aa jaa = at least now (i.e. now that it has been so very long, and now I am crying)
kajaraa = kaajal, kohl (used as eyeliner). The naayikaa (speaker) is saying that because she is crying, the kohl is not staying firm (thiir) in her eyes but running down her cheeks.
chhab = your picture or image. The naayika says she is seeing only him in her mind's eye and she cannot bear his physical absence any more.
I feel she is actually longing for her beloved one whom she described as Rajan for she is feared and anxious at the moment.
👏👏
