- This movie is often described as a "comedy;" I consider it more of a drama-romance. But whatever you want to classify it as, I think this song is still apropriate.

"Welcome to my house of cards, I built it all myself
I warn you not to place your heart on any of the shelves.
It's dangerous and tumbledown, if I were you I'd leave."
It seems like only yesterday you said those words to me
But even if you say I shouldn't waste my time with you
A useless good-for-nothing, as attractive as the flu
And even if there is a scrap of truth in what you say
My precious cynic I am going to love you anyway
You said "someone had to draw a blank, and darlin' it was you
But you don't have to stay here with the lowest of the low
Be honest now, your prospects are still good if we should part
You'll find yourself a millionaire and you'll make a brand new start."
But even if you say I shouldn't waste my time with you
A useless good-for-nothing, as attractive as the flu
And even if there is a scrap of truth in what you say
My precious cynic I am going to love you anyway
Yes I'll love you anyway
No matter what you do
And no matter what you say
I'll love you anyway
But even if you say I shouldn't waste my time with you
A useless good-for-nothing, as attractive as the flu
And even if there is a scrap of truth in what you say
My precious cynic I am going to love you anyway
My all time favorite Cary Grant movie. Enjoyed this post
Just saw this film for the first time. Cary Grant was great, as usual, and Laraine Day was never better. Her scene at the Pier as he was departing was fantastic-WOW! I can see why Laraine Day was Frank Capra's first choice to portray Mary Hatch. Thanks for posting, great tribute.
