If you ever go again, I’d try the local cuisine and some true Puerto Rican dishes! I’m glad you enjoyed it, but I know you’d enjoy the real deal even more. Hotel chefs are often international and trained in several cuisines, so even a Puerto Rican chef in a hotel is influenced by hotel menus. Ceviche and Chilaquiles aren’t Puerto Rican dishes. :) Just for those stopping by and wondering.
1.Panadería España for breakfast, lunch and pastries 2.All of the kiosks by the water 3.Sancho Panza in Mayagüez (it’s a few hours drive but a nice place for other things besides eating) has aMAZING Mofongo and even pizza. It’s my dad’s college hangout. 4.I gotta find you a good Chinese place. Their rice is 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 5.A restaurant at the bottom of the hill headed to El Yunque. Right when you enter the neighborhood, there’s a spot. I forget its name. 6.Marisquería Atlántica - AMAZING seafood. My uncle doesn’t cook so literally eats out daily. He eats here once a week. 7.There are lots of cute seaside beach clubs for a gorgeous view and lunch. 8.It’s a drive, but y’all have to do the Guy Fieri spot. Lechoneras where they do the roasted pig. They’re in Los Pinos, Cayey, Guavate. You can’t go wrong with any of them. There’s a bunch right on one little strip. 9. I found a place called Richie’s Restaurant that has nice views. I’ve never been there but looks good. 10.Don Pepe- good night scene and atmosphere. They play live music most nights.
I just came across your video. We arlready rented a place for a week. Are we able to go to the hotel to Have dinner at the Cana restaurant. Are you be able to take a picture by the pool or do you have to have bracelets or someway to show you are staying at the hotel in order to take a nice picture by the pool or to see the beach from that area.
Thank you for watching! You can make a reservation and eat at the restaurant and not be a guest. I think you can also explore the property but to use the amenities you may need a bracelet not sure but I’m sure you can take a photo by the pool. Also, all beaches in PR are public but you may or may not be able to leave and then re-enter through the beach entrance. Have an amazing trip!
It really is! It's so beautiful and there's so much to do the food, culture and the convenience of no passport or changing your phone plan makes it an ideal place to Americans to travel.
Lol I live there I live really close I live in IslaVerde really close to San Juan and El viejo San Juan she is really close to my local airport which I’m guessing she landed there hopefully u enjoyed 😊I recommend u try ( Aroz Con Abichuela ) oh and one thing not to do : DO NOT SING DESPACITO I WARN U OR PLAY IT ANYWHERE I WARN U ONCE AGAIN IT WILL GET LOSE AND EVERYONE WILL START PLAYING IT IN RADIOS AND SINGING IT AGAIN!!!
I love the lobby I use to go there for date night with my husband is so romantic so many memories, I live in PR all my life and I didn’t see all is so much to see and do I move to TX 8 years ago I need to visit PR more often. I recommend for you go to San Cristobal in old San Juan inside is amazing and try mofongo with churrasco and try carrucho salad try pulpo 🐙, alcapurrias, sorullos de maíz con queso, empanadillas de pizza, the bread in the bakery’s is the best try “tostadas de queso de papa “
That’s amazing! It’s a great time to go back to your home island things are quieter and they are doing their very best to make sure everyone is safe. I will definitely write these down for when I go back because PR is one of my favorite places
Going on a girls trip next week to this same resort. Curious to know if we will need reservations for the restaurants at the resort due to covid? Same for the pools?
Question? Did you have to get COVID tested prior to arriving and before leaving PR? Airport COVID testing? Considering PR is listed by CDC as a Level 4 (High ) COVID exposures.
Hi! Great questions. I got tested prior to arriving in Puerto Rico (it is required by the island officials to leave the airport). Please refer to this link for the most up to date information from the official tourism board website regarding travel restrictions (as they change frequently) www.discoverpuertorico.com/info/travel-guidelines
Hi Shakira, hope you have an amazing trip the breakfast in Fairmont El San Juan is not included in the rate. They may have special packages depending so I would check the link in my description
The club was not open :( however UBER is the best way to get around, dont have to worry about parking, and the rides were fairly prices $9-$15 per way (15-20 minute ride, Old San Juan to Isla Verde)
@@DanaBerez thanks, I'll be arriving in late March so I hope the clubs are back open by then. not only finding parking, but the hotel charges $20 a day to park, so thats a couple of uber rides in it self
Do you need a passport to travel from NY to PR? I asked the hotel and basically everyone I know and they all said no and then I called United airlines and they seemed really confused and said I HAVE to have a passport to travel there😩
Hi Kaitlyn, great questions! Here is an official statement from the Discover Puerto Rico website which is the official tourism board of the island: Do I need a passport to visit Puerto Rico? "United States citizens and permanent residents don't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands. However, the Real ID Act is in effect so verify if your state is compliant with these laws because otherwise, you may need a passport to travel. Travelers from other countries visiting Puerto Rico have the same visa and passport requirements that would apply if visiting mainland United States." If you have any questions pertaining to travel and guidance on visiting the island I would check out www.discoverpuerto.com for the latest information. Hope this helps!!
Hey Ashley so you don’t have to pay for them upfront but it is a food and beverage minimum spend starting at $150 depending on the cabana you request and it is recommended you make a reservation ahead of time
@@DanaBerez well that will be easy! Thank you. My husband and son watched your vlog today and pulled the trigger and switched hotels and sprung for the villa! The food alone at the hotel looks incredible!
@@Cowrong56 I'm glad you found the vlog helpful and that's what I always say when people ask about cabanas or wonder if they even need them because of the minimum spend. But then I would see people ordering so much food and drinks and for the money, you can just have a bit more privacy. The villas are nice because you either have a balcony or outdoor deck-type space depending on the floor you stay on.
Thanks to you I am looking to stay here next month but I was wondering if it is all inclusive or are all the food and drinks separate? Love the vlog ❤️
So exciting!! I might go there for my birthday this summer.

How much would you say a spending allowance would you need per day?

What was the coffee place?
this hotel was not all inclusive, right? how much were all of the meals would you say?
