During the meeting with clergy in the Diocese of Aosta, on July 25 2005, Pope Benedict XVI spoke of this difficult question: quote:
“ those who were married in the Church, for the sake of tradition, but were not truly believers, and who later find themselves in a new, and invalid marriage, and subsequently convert, discover faith and feel excluded from the Sacrament, are in a particularly painful situation. This really is a cause of great suffering, and when I was Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, I invited various Bishops’ Conferences and experts to study this problem: a sacrament celebrated without faith. Whether, in fact, a moment of invalidity could be discovered here because the Sacrament was found to be lacking a fundamental dimension, I do not dare to say. I personally thought so, but from the discussions we had I realized that it is a highly complex problem and ought to be studied further. But given these people's painful plight, it must, be studied further.”

the proposal of cardinal Kasper is totally uncatholic. it is abominable to say the least. it is false to say catholics can live a life different from their belief. the Sacrament of the holy Eucharist is the center of catholic life, our final submit. The person who lives a life contrary to the churches teachings cannot in good faith receive communion.
Satan is on the loose to destroy the church of Jesus Christ, and if your Holiness does not protect the seat of St Peter from this Kasperian Heresy, all of Christendom, whether catholic or not, will suffer gravely from this error.
Furthermore let us not pretend that we do not know our God is a Merciful God, of course even the scriptures and tradition assures us of the tenderness of God's mercy, Nevertheless, we can not over emphasise God's mercy above his justice. while he is a merciful father, he is also a just judge. And a departure from his will (the Kasperian proposal) will attract nothing but condemnation all the perpetrators of this Heresy.
FINALLY AND VERY IMPORTANTLY: I suppose the church has to consider the consequences of this Kasperian proposal:
    1. on marriage: this will bring a totally collapse of what it means to be in a valid catholic marriage. the Sacrament of marriage will now have, what is called a second chance, and of course this is absolutely abominable. While supporters of Cardinal Kasper may pretend that it will not, we have to look at the consequences of the proposal not just in our generation of church history but also in the light of the church's past and future history. it is unfaithful to the apostolic tradition we have received in the past and it will have an horrendous effects on our future history.
    2. on the sacrament of reconciliation: it will shame the sacrament of reconciliation and will ultimately mock the true meaning of God's mercy. the sacrament will now be a place where a priest will say to a remarried person "Your sins are forgiven, go and continue in your adultery". My gracious goodness! even a one year old can see that this is totally unacceptable under true christian theology.
    3. PAPAL INFALLIBILITY: this is perhaps the most threatening for the future of the church. if the see of St Peter declares this error, the catholic world is in trouble. the implication remains that the teaching authority of the church will be brought into into question, hence all of catholic teachings that flows with it. your Holiness be remained that all of christendom looks at the see of Peter with keen interest ( whether out f spite or good interest), a departure from what even most non catholics perceive to be the true teaching of christ, which the church has upheld for centuries will be devastating on all of christendom.
4: "it was not so in the beginning,.. it was because of the stubbornness of your ancestors that moses allowed divorce....." you holiness should not make the same mistake moses made which our lord jesus sort to correct. while moses has an excuse that he had not baseline to make his decision on remarriage, your Holiness does not, because God the Son, himself spelt out this teaching clearly without mixing words.
Most holy father, consider these issues and see the truth of the opposition from the likes of Cardinal Sarah, Burke, Mullër etc. and condemn this Kasperian definition of mercy as a Heresy.

The church annuls marriages, saying that the marriage never existed. Is this not contrary to the indissolubility of a marriage which was blessed in the church? Canon lawyers do find solutions in this matter. Canon lawyers do accept exceptions to the rule. As a priest, I have known second marriages, which were more stable than the first one. Card.Burke should not be afraid to have an open discussion about this matter before the synode: his is so used of having everything discussed behind closed doors, even marriage which de facto concerns many men and women. .

if there was no marriage to begin with then there is no problem but once someone is married in eyes of God... then to enter second relationship is a matter of adultery.

Leo Renier You said,,,"As a priest I have known second marriages that were more stable than the first one" well your problem is that you have bought into liberalism and you think it was a marriage in the first place,,, it was an adulterous union between two rebels who put their own sinful desires ahead of Christ's command,,,, what you saw was two people living in sin and fornication under the delusion that they were married. Instead of correcting these people I assume you encouraged them. So you have already bought into liberalism and lies,,,folks like you that think the doctrines of the church are up for grabs are destroyers of the church and of civilization,,,cant you see the results of this kind of liberal thinking and how it is destroying the whole world? We could have never got to gay marriage unless natural marriage was already ravaged....Divorce and re-marriage is destroying the people's of the world,,,,A large number of people have grown up with no father because of divorce or with another man acting as their father who is a stranger unto them,,,, someone their mother picked but they do not want,,,this leads to all kinds of resentment and instability,,,children need their natural parents to forsake their own selfish desires and do what Christ commanded,,,the family is falling apart,,,,this liberal kind of perverted thinking has led to all sorts of problems,,,broken homes lead to broken people,,,once this cancer starts it enters into the minds of the people and everyone thinks this is ok then generation after generation is shattered,,,,and even the priests begin to think its normal,,,,you are supposed to be a guide to the blind but you are blind yourself,,,
look,,,the doctrines of the church do NOT change to fit the fallen world,,,the church is there to correct the fallen world,,,to be a lamp in the darkness,,,,the church is supposed to enforce the laws of God ,,,NOT appease the sinful desires of men,,,to relax the rules of the church harms everyone,,,,no one is left untouched,,,,the destroyers of all that is good have perverted your mind,,,to pervert means to change to something worse,,,so thats what you advocate for,,,a change to something worse,,,just allow adulterers to come in and bring their faulty perverse morals into the church ad place a stamp of approval on it so the children dont understand this is wrong,,,,,,just allow adulterers to feel at home in the church,,,NO ,,,an adulterer should NEVER feel at home in the church,,,they should feel uncomfortable and ashamed,,,,they should feel ashamed until they re-organize their lives to match the teaching of the church,,,the church is not suppose to re-organize its structure and teaching to appease the perverts,,,but the perverts are supposed to reorganize their lives so they match the teaching of the church,,,
The barriers that you want to tear down were erected to keep perverts and perverted ideas out of the church,,,and since vatican II thats all we have are perverts in the church,,,all we see are people who want to tear down the walls of protection that make right and wrong evident to the people,,,,with all the scandals in the church the last thing we need is to relax the rules even more,,,but what we need is to go back to what our fore fathers taught and believed,,,we need someone to sit on the throne of saint Peter who will rule with a rod of iron and excommunicate all those people who stand against the teaching of Christ and the one true church,,,if you dont agree with the church you need to alter your thinking so that it aligns with the church not the other way around and if you refuse then you should be put out,,,if I were pope Id excommunicate every one of you rebels ,,,the whole problem is that the pope allows the evil to remain in the church instead of casting it out,,, he allows the evil men to ravage the sheep fold,,,it needs to stop,,may God help us,,,when a blind man leads another blind man they will both fall into the ditch

Because so many idiotic priests have made a habit of denying the commonality of sin in everyday life, they have become too wimpy to face the reality of how evil the the couples before them really are and cease with the mindless practice of calling them "good people." You would think the scarcity of those going to confession would teach today's priests something of value. No, you can't teach those who refuse to be taught anything. If today's priests weren't such cowards and start talking about sin again, maybe they would help create the sort of ecclesial culture where the young would be more likely to approach marriage with a level of real courage, humility, and commitment.

Who are these people that think that banning people from sacraments does anything for the family? No one hopes to be divorced or have a relationship that fails. Broken lives need Christ as much if not more than those marriages that go on - and how hypocritical when those with money get easy "annulments". Look at the Kennedy situation.

What garrante that the second marriage will work out, why cant people, both partners put all their effort in first marriages, especially when you are saying in front of God, accepting your HOLY VOWS, dont we really know how serious vocation it is, I think just dont get married in the church if you seriously both partners dont take it, that is HOLY MATRAMONY for real. Its just too serious too take lightly.

In 2018, Francis gave Dutch pro-abortion activist Lilianne Ploumen the medal of honor in honor of St. Gregory the Great. Ploumen started the organization “She Decides” to counter Donald Trump’s executive order that stopped U.S. Funds form being used for abortion outside the U.S. Ploumen to the Financial Times: “America’s regressive policies on abortion are a calamity for girls’ and women’s rights that the rest of the world must counter.”
Within six months, more than $300 million was collected for “She Decides.”

Receiving HOLY communion while in a state of mortal sin is torturous for Jesus. Torturous for Him and and an even greater sin for the recipient's soul than the adultery itself. You people complaining because you don't get your way are clearly ignorant and selfish.

“It is important that the divorced who have entered a new union should be made to feel part of the Church. ‘They are not excommunicated’ and they should not be treated as such, since they remain part of the ecclesial community. These situations ‘require careful discernment and respectful accompaniment. Language or conduct that might lead them to feel discriminated against should be avoided, and they should be encouraged to participate in the life of the community. The Christian community’s care of such persons is not to be considered a weakening of its faith and testimony to the indissolubility of marriage; rather, such care is a particular expression of its charity.’”
      - Francis, Amoris Laetitia, No. 243, March 19, 2016
"But I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, excepting for the cause of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery."

This is a RESPECT issue. We don't receive Communion in the state of serious sin out of respect for JESUS' real presence in the Eucharist. It's not a punishment.
We only care about our own feelings and forget about JESUS.
My JESUS, I love you....forgive us for being so selfish.

In the real world people marry for all sorts of wrong reasons. It is marriage that is too easy, even sacramental marriage. It is the institution of marriage that needs to be looked at rather than the judging by the self-righteous of those whose marriages were doomed from the start...and were never marriages to begin with.

    • @chloegilbert647
      @chloegilbert647 7 лет назад

That is why the Church has annulments.

    • @isaiahfootnote8534

They are needful, true, but the rigor of annulments is a contrast to the easiness of marriage. To be granted marriage should be as rigorous as to obtain an annulment.

I am a devout, practicing Catholic. Since we hear so much about divorced Catholics not being able to receive Communion or get remarried in the Church without an annulment maybe someone can answer this question for me: Does the Church accept financial contributions from divorced Catholics? Would the Church accept financial contributions from a divorced Catholic who remarries in a different faith? If yes to either, why?

    • @Personaje123

No one is forced to contribute to the church, so it doesn't matter. Morality isnt determined depending on the sins of donors who contribute to the church. Besides If doing bad things should forbid you from doing a good thing then no one could be saved.

Wasn't the previous thinking that the cc could survive with a core of rich, devout, theologically conservative, old school Catholics? Sort of the knights of Malta model. Benedict (that was his name, right?) could stumble about the castle and Burke and his crew could threaten holy hell on the Unawed. Francis don't play that and so it goes.

For the uninformed out there who don't know the real story behind this "pious" man, let me tell you as a member of his former "flock", the Archdiocese of St. Louis. This man succeeded Justin Cardinal Rigali, a humble and sincere man of God and the Church, here in St. Louis. He then proceeded, in his relatively short tenure, to alienate St. Louis Catholics and even non-Catholics with his CEO approach to spiritual leadership. He closed parishes and schools that were more than 100 years old, centers of neighborhoods and communities for generations, due to what he deemed financially insolvent. He amalgamated many others. A traditional Polish parish which for decades had handled its own financial matters and was in fact thriving was ordered by this Machiavel to turn over all financial records, as well as control of parish finances, to the Archdiocese. When they vehemently protested, HE EXCOMMUNICATED THE PASTOR AND THE PARISH BOARD OF ADVISORS !!! What is this, the Dark Ages ?? Who wields such a spiritual headsman's ax so capriciously ? His unpopularity was eventually brought to the attention of the Papal Nuncio to the U.S. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to the Vatican "Supreme Court", which was a relief to the Archdiocese of St. Louis (though we feared what his machinations might bring to that canonical body). We here in St. Louis got quite a chuckle out of the Holy Father "kicking him upstairs" to head the Order of the Knights of Malta, after he had so publicly and ungraciously attacked Francis in the press over his reforms. This is no shepherd, my friends; a shepherd seeks to keep his flock close, not scatter them. Hope this helped.

    • @chloegilbert647
      @chloegilbert647 7 лет назад +2

      No...it does not help.
It's a shame parishes need to be closed...it's happening all over not just in St. Louis. But, you don't need to commit a sin of your own.... of detraction or calumny.... by trying to ruin a good man's reputation simply because you didn't get your way.

How do you know what Jesus wants ? Many protestants might say that the Roman Catholics are the "heretics", in particular worshipping idols. In France there are "Marian" churches with a graven image of a black virgin on the high altar. What nonsense is this ?
Anyway, churches like the Church of England ARE part of the Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. Their bishops are ordained in a line which theoretically goes back to Jesus, just like the Roman Catholic ones are.
