i love starting up the middle, feel like its a little faster too. i only do this for figure skating tho since it confuses hockey players that are tipping nets.
Hi, thanks for the video. Just had a question. We have an Olympia machine and I find that the guys are leaving streaks of water that take longer to freeze on overlap. The streaks are about 10 inches wide or so and happen on the side of the conditioner. When they are driving it looks like the overlap is correct but its leaving water streaks. Not sure what to tell them to correct it.
Ice Rink Diaries I’ve only driven a zamboni once, I’m just on the board or the arena. Someone mentioned they thought it was too much water but I guess if they went faster than it would equal less water. I was told one should be at 1500 rpm.
Jay. 1500 is a bit low on the Olympia. That's kind of an Ice building speed. 1800rpm is the speed at which you complete a flood in 8 1/2 minutes. Which I personally find is a good time. Is the water more on one side of the conditioner or both sides? Are they turning their water down on turns? How much snow are they taking off each flood. Couple of factors could be at play when it comes to an Olympia.
C'est un super bon travail d équipes avec 😢 émotions bravo 😅

Nice video. Nice job, I try the same pattern for my yard when mowing, but never looks as good as yours.
How did you put your camera up there did you use a tripod or some sort of mount?
Yes I used a tripod with an adapter for my phone. Use my phone to do most of the recordings.

I am guessing it is not doing it while you are driving? Perhaps they are laying too much water by driving to slow. Nothing else comes to mind.

@@WheatlanderJay RPM sounds kind of low. Maybe that's right for an Olympia. Zamboni's run about 2500 to 2800.

The Streaks have more to do with excess wash water (cold water) being used.
Thanks for sharing! \m/
It always bothered me that I had 1/4 a zam width left after near perfect passes... then I realized it's not me, it's the conditioner/blade width.
