There's actually 4 Cell's in the Cell saga: - The Cell that kills Trunks and goes back in time(creating the Future Timeline), who gets killed by Future Trunks in the Future Timeline - The larvae Cell from the Future Timeline who gets destroyed by 17 and 18 after Gero dies in the basement which contains Cell - The larvae Cell that Krillin kills in the Canon Timeline - The Cell that Gohan killed who ALSO killed Trunks but was duplicated due to Trunks going back in time and creating a new timeline. If that last one's confusing, the Cell that killed Unseen Trunks went back 4 years before the Androids, but Future Trunks only went back 3. This means that Cell was already in the ground for a year when Future Trunks went to the past and created the Canon Timeline, so the same is true for the Future Timeline. So when Goku kills Mecha Freeza and King Cold in the Future Timeline, the original Cell has already been in the ground for a year. Does it make sense?
What's crazy is that the narrator was referring to Cell as the Ultimate Android killing machine while we were all thinking he was talking about android 13 back in the day!

So the unseen timeline is the only way this can take place
I'd argue this is from the timeline of the Cell that killed Trunks before he let everyone know he defeated the Androids. You may still be right. There could be a 4th timeline where Cell was never completed. But Cell's existence isn't exactly debunked in this scene.

There's a mistake in the film... in the present time line 17 kills Dr. Gero in front of Vegeta and the others, but in the video 17 and 18 are alone with Gero (we know that this film is set in the present). And If this scene makes reference to the future line, we have also a mistake because Dr. Gero is suppose to turn into an android only in the present time line, not in the future line (remember that to become an android, Dr.Gero had to build Android 19 who never existed in the future).
This film (like p much all DB movies) basically takes place in an alternate timeline of its own. I mean, the characters are just chilling with Future Trunks in the beginning of this movie, nobody's in the time chamber, they all have their designs from the beginning of the arc; there'd be no logical place for this in the actual story

After a few months of research, I'm positive this is actually from the timeline Cell kills Trunks.
There's actually 4 Cell's in the Cell saga:
- The Cell that kills Trunks and goes back in time(creating the Future Timeline), who gets killed by Future Trunks in the Future Timeline
