How to Fix Xbox Series X/S installation stopped for Digital or Disc Installs (Easy Method)

- Do you want to know how to fix when your digital game download or disc install stopped on your Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, or Xbox One? In this video, I show you how to fix your Xbox console when you're having issues with game installing stopped errors. The first thing you to do is perform a hard reset on your Xbox Series X/S by holding down the Xbox button on your controller or console for 10 seconds or more. Once this is finished, unplug the power cable and wait for 1-2 minutes before plugging it back in. Now reboot the Xbox. If the problem persists, cancel all downloads and re download the game from the Microsoft store.

This has to be a fundamental issue with some latest xbox software update. Because I have had an Xbox series X for a couple of years now and never had issues like this until recently.
I’m trying to install a 64 GB update and it’ll go at a nice 160mbps then just stop randomly
I’ve let it sit for 3 hours and it’s barely hit 20 GB
This thing is almost as bad as my old 360 with the way this is going
@@NekosForeverdid you fix the issue ? Currently have CoD at 90GB out of 144GB but it doesn’t progress any further unless I keep resetting modem and router every 5 mins

@@NekosForeverno matter what I do I don’t get above a 40-50Mbps install. Like my internet is great whenever I’m playing but for installing it’s awful. I’m trying to download Jedi survivor on my brand new series X, just bought yesterday with plenty of space. But it’s estimated to be done in 9 hours and 36 minutes???????

Fortnite installed, the others didn’t telling me that Microsoft Servers and fucked, cause I have been having this issue more weeks, and can’t download a thing.

@@Vaa-lian_Co-niel I figured out mine was SSD failure so I had to get a new Xbox.
@@jgons I already successfully downloaded my game by ejecting the disk and reinserting it prior to the moment It’d consistently stopped at 9.92GB or 47.6% I ejected it from 9GB to 9.40GB and it worked (was downloading Xcom2)

Did not work for me. I get to 15% and it just quits. Got my Xbox yesterday how about 12 hours worth of updates literally every other game install flawlessly except Metro Exodus

I get an update in the middle of downloading and it just says cancel or update now, when i press cancel it just resets everything and makes me install it again

How did you do it? I bought the physical version and the disc 1 does not goes on with the installation.
My husband gave me his console as he won a PC... Well, ive been trying to imstall my sims 4 game since xmas day! I got to the 13.56 gb of 13.56 gb installed and its at 59.5% progress and then it stops... Ive done ALL the troubleshooting AND the ONLY way it will install is while im acticely playing a game so once i get to the 59.5% installed point it completely stops regardless of what i do... Any ideas?!?
If anyone can please help, I got my Series X earlier this week and downloaded all my games just as normal, but when I try to download Mortal Kombat (2011) it just does not install at all when I transfer it from my Xbox One, but when I try to put in the disc, i lose all my progress.

The only problem I’m running into is doing the last step is going to the Microsoft store because I have it on disk but it’s trying to make me buy the game on digital but I have it on disk so even when I hard reset my Xbox it still doesn’t get past 10 GB and I’m basically dead in the water right now. I’ve couldn’t find anything that’s can help me. It’s all the same step to do and I have a feeling that is actually gonna fix my thing but I just can’t do the Microsoft story it won’t let me download it it’s trying to tell me to purchase it but I have it on disk that’s already in the Xbox so I don’t understand, it just doesn’t make any sense

Just bought an xbox x and I'm trying to transfer everything and I was moving apex legends as it came up it would take 9 hours to move so I waited 3 and it got to 30% then it came up installation stopped ... I though I fixed it so I went to bed hoping It would download over night but no nothing downloaded 😭😭😭 so far doing this method it reset sure but jts only saying 2 hours now so that's a better start thank you

If you Put a disc inside the series x (of an uninstalled game) then resume the install on the game that is stuck it will force the download to be resumed again.

Any solution for when trying to download a preorder and then nothing happens?
Been trying to download Assassins Creed Valhalla off game pass it downloaded up to 82% and now I'm having this issue, i noticed this a couple days ago but figured it was my internet having a typical hiccup so i didnt think much of it i usually average around 150.00 Mbps however now it wont get past 15.00 Mbps and it keeps going up to/around 15 and instantly drops back down until it stops downloading, this has to be a Microsoft issue because there are 2 other consoles on our internet and neither of those have a problem, I've had this Xbox for like 2 years now and this is the first time I've ever had this problem so outside of calling Microsoft tommorow i have no clue what to do, you'd think a company like Microsoft would do a better job when it comes to things like this.
I'm in a semi. Used up all my high speed data. Day 2 of update install. Stopped at 60%. If I have to completely restart, I don't think I'll be buying the next cod. Lmao. Way too many updates.

The hard reset worked but now the question is why did it work and what could be the underlying issue. It seems like maybe a Ram caching or ssd storage caching issue. *I’m no expert

Tried all of this. My disc reaches 2.5% then stops. Resuming it only resumes for about 30 seconds and it stops again. RIP. Probably something with the game because I've installed a bunch of other discs before without issue.
I just keep cancelling the update and redownloading and it usually works

My series x just don't download anymore in sleep mode or shutdown mode. It did before. Weirdest thing, if i pre load a game that's soon coming to game pass it downloads it automatically while being shutdown. But when i just download a game from game pass myself and shutdown, or sleep, it stops downloading .

The game itself took 2 full days to download as it stops every few minutes, and now the update won’t download more than 5%
The issue is definitely not the the network cause the download reaches 400mb

Stopped the update at 54% from disc download. Sucked it restarted entirely. Shouldn't take this long with xbox x and 250mbs speed

Unfortunately this didn’t help. When I leave the queue screen or join a party my downloads stop. Sometimes they stop just because. On the latest COD update I had “installation stopped 87 times. So aggravating

Has anyone had a downloading issue with their series x ?? .........when im downloading some games or updates i look at the download speed on the right side and it'll be up high for about a min or 2 then the speed starts getting lower and lower to the point that its at zero then stops with no download mbps showing , then after a couple of secs it'll start right back up again at high numbers then gets slow and stops again , its keeps repeating over and over again

@@Snowy6710 that's crazy , I read a article that says that it might either be my Internet provider that's throttling my download Internet speed or it could be Microsoft , when it comes to downloading digital games from their online Xbox store , depending on the size some of the games that I bought takes about a hr and some 5 to 6 hrs to download smh , either way it's shitty that's why I prefer disc games
Yes bro same issue and my WiFi is excellent too this problem didn’t not arise until today I tried downloading wolfistien the new colossus and it’s at 220 MBPS for few of the minutes and then we it get to 9gb EXACLTY the WiFi goes down so quick like wtf

@@AkashProductions1 it sucks when shitty download speeds happens when it comes to certain games , I wanted to play FO4 again so i downloaded the disc game offline it took about an hour 15min , but then it needed a full update so I had to go online for that and it took a long ass time to download it

Ngl buying the new Xbox was so exciting until I had to migrate games and everything became an issue game accounts I was logged in on I had been logged out verifying accounts got more annoying and things started breaking I got a ps5 spider man edition and step up was so easy

It's annoying, I'm trying to install gta 5 on my xbox one from a disc, all offline and still having this trouble. Like I don't want to be online when I play gta 5 bro... and when I do follow your method, it wants to update gta and its like 60 GB and I don't want to... so annoying.
Omg, I'm having the exact same problem and with the same game. I wish I would have never uninstalled my disc. It looks like I'm just gonna have to deal with gamepass and forget about the my physical disc. So disappointing.
