I'm a black American considering relocating to SA. I understand there is an unemployment issue and I don't want to take opportunity from any black South Africans. My intent is to relocate as a retiree or digital nomad. I'd like to create businesses and help black South Africans achieve their desired life. although I can relate to the affects of Apartheid, I feel like I should tread lightly and respect that I am still a foreigner and need to learn and respect South Africa's reconstructive process post apartheid. Every country has there issues, I just want to help my black people that have been marginalized and mistreated and share a meal, laugh and dance. Peace & Love to all my beautiful 🤎 people.

Guys guys guys please don't go this far as to sound down right downplaying our country. You said it. We are protective of our country but we were never like this until people from your country made us see the ugly side of them and this made it worse for us as ordinary South Africans cause we come from a very bad history and believe me, we were really excited to see our brothers and sisters from our African continent after having lived in darkness for centuries. However, our so-called brother showed us a side of who they are that we could have done without. We love you guys but just, a tingie little just, respect that we are a developing economy. Respect our struggles from the not so distant past. Be reasonable in discouraging people from coming to South Africa for opportunities. Lastly. I don't know how you guys confront issues that affects your country's reputation all over the world. If it were a South African case with our people labelled as bad people in every country, we would deal with them as our brothers and straighten them up until they understand the damage they are doing for the general population of our country. But ke, that's just us South Africans. We call a spoon, a spoon not a small spade. Much love to your guess, Honey. I'm just shocked she is not a South African lady as by her looks, I'm not surprised that South Africans just rock up and speak isiZulu with her. You I can easily tell you are a Nigerian but her. Rainbow nation means we have different groups with different languages but who are actually South Africans. This means Black South Africans, White South Africans, Colourds, and Indians but all South Africans not really that every person from every corner of the world is part of the rainbow nation. South Africa is a diverse country but it has a national identity as "South Africans", so someone from Morroco who comes to SA do not necessarily form part of the national identity but they are from foreign land and we do welcome foreigners as long as they contribute something good towards our economy in terms of tourism or bring essential skills. What we dont like is people coming here illegally, staying here illegally, commiting crimes, selling drugs, and being arrogant in our country, South Africa is for South Africans and not a world country where anyone can just come and live but we do appreciate visitors who are here legally and do right and not wrong things when they here. Again South Africans have their own national identity as "South Africans".

You received independence in October 1 1960. You claim to be the giants of Africa rich in oil. South Africa received independence just recently in 1994. What has Nigeria been doing in that 63 years? South Africans we are patriotic by nature and we are unapologetic about that. We don’t flood Nigeria and play mind games with victim mentality. We don’t hate African migrants. We just don’t appreciate migrants doing illegal business and things in our country. You are quick to label SA ppl as xenophobic, but you never call out your ppl’s sins in SA. And why don’t you ppl want to fix your countries? Fleeing to South Africa in numbers won’t solve your country’s problems. Economic opportunities in South Africa can’t accommodate all of us, hence you feel that as a foreigner it’s hard to get opportunities. Each country must prioritise its own tax paying citizens first.

I've never heard that south africans go to Nigeria and make Nigerian women prostitutes, it just doesn't happen. Everytime when i take my evening jog at the beach, there is always a Nigerian guy stopping people, trying to sell them drugs. We have soooo many negative encounters with Nigerians, that is just the truth. South Africans are not just making these things up...

  • @AAED-NPO
    @AAED-NPO 9 месяцев назад +3

I liked your presentation ladies, you were balanced and respectful. I would just like to highlight a few things.
    1. SA economy is only $408 billion. It may be the most industrialized in Africa and industrialization creates jobs. But the size of the economy already tells you that SA can only take in so many immigrant workers and no more. It's not as developed and not as big as the UK with $3.08 trillion, or US with $24.85 trillion. Every country has so much capacity to accommodate migrant workers, while first taking care of its citizens. I think SA has exceeded its capacity to accommodate migrant workers, because while it's the most industrialized and industrialization creates jobs, at the same time SA has the highest unemployment rate worldwide. It's pretty clear that SA has exceeded its immigrant worker capacity.
    2. Complaints about migrants is not unique to SA. Denmark, Sweden, Italy and several other European countries are also complaining about high immigration, and most of them are sitting with immigration rate of 10% of their population. It's way higher in SA, due to unmanned borders and corruption. It's reported that there are 15million unregistered illegal immigrants; this represents 25% of the SA population. It's more than twice what other countries are complaining about (it really makes one wonder if we still have a Government in this country). What makes it worse and stand out in SA is because it is Africans against Africans and the attacks (which we condemn and do not in any way condone).
    3. South Africans feel that they have contributed to building a better country, economy and changed the political system. Hence they are fiercely patriotic. When you've built something, you're naturally protective of it. When you feel that your country can offer you something good and help you reach your aspirations and goals, you feel good, patriotic and protective about it.
    4. The Africa that I dream about in every vein of my being, is not the one where we Africans try to run away from our countries or continent and go to where economies have already been developed and there are existent jobs. I dream of us Africans, staying in our countries, take up small and medium manufacturing and value adding enterprises, create wealth, jobs, contribute to economic growth of our countries and ultimately our continent. We need to change our mindsets; not see an opportunity in an already developed state, but learn to see the potential in an undeveloped state. There is ample potential for development in every African economy, hence untold opportunities in every African country.
Africa has vast opportunities, but we need to look at our countries and continent with a developmental mindset. And the day that we develop our economies and our continent, WE WILL COMMAND THE RESPECT OF THE WORLD. WE ARE ABLE AND CAPABLE AGENTS OF ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION.
I normally give an example about Mr. Dangote and ask why is he, the richest Black man on the globe, from an economy of $440 billion, and not from the US with a GDP of $24.85 trillion? Because where he is operating, he has very little competition, he has captured a bigger slice of the market. THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICA, and if we get on manufacturing and industrialization early enough, we have little competition, our only competitors are mostly imports, and we can undercut them on prices.
Entrepreneurs need to stay in Africa, diversify into value adding manufacturing. It creates wealth, millionaires, jobs and grows economies. What has happened with the SA economy can be emulated in every African economy, thus creating enough jobs in Africa.

South Africa is for south Africans. Rainbow nation means south Africans are diverse, it doesn't mean the melting pot of everything the world has to offer.
Foreigners are very much welcome, like you are welcome, you don't seem to intend to leave, and we not really want you to leave or stay, we don't care. We want foreigners to be like you, come here legally, and we want them to know this is south Africa, not the land they left, and it has its own laws and way of life. You don't like, you don't feel safe, stay where you will feel safe and love it

I enjoyed watching for real I'm a South African and I enjoy the reflection that people give of us as a people, and I can tell when people i.e South Africans are genuine or fake" Generally we are very welcoming people, South African's can please you in a lot of things and in a lot of ways, we love humour, we love to feed people and we love to showcase our dance tunes whichever genre of music it is. Our Nigerian brothers and sisters have become part of us, they now are our own, they no longer live in places like Berea or Johannesburg central, they now live in the township so many have established businesses in our townships. I want to say the only thing we don't take kindly to, is people who sell drugs or do other forms of criminal activity, frankly even if I get to visit Nigeria, the first thing that I will have to demonstrate is that I'm a law abiding citizean, otherwise I don't have to come all the way to break the law in a foreign country. You're most welcome, your generous smiles says it all, but before I conclude, I've looked at those Nigerian cute ladies and I tell you they're, right now my crush is "Helen Ibe" she's a guitarist, I tell you a very gifted one at that, yaah I'm still looking and Nigerian ladies are most definitely an option loool

Im yet to see a video where you that keep saying "but its not me" actually condemn and reprimand your countrymen who are commiting illegal things here and giving the rest of you a bad name and bad image all I see is most of you deflecting and in most cases defending them and calling us Xenophobic🤗.

It is deep, we love our languages and it makes no sense in general to be confined to English when we have our own. I’ve seen that Nigerians among themselves are surprised when other Nigerians speak their native tongue, that’s incredible. But do learn , there’s no harm. And being protective is being patriotic.

You guys have to understand South africa 🇿🇦 is a young democracy, we are still trying to fight inequality and poverty, hence it is difficult to find opportunities, it's simply because there are already many South Africans who can do what an immigrant can do, so there is really no reason why companies should employ someone from a different country to do a job South Africans can do, unless that person has a critical skill need. I live overseas and the only reason I secured a job here is because the country do not have much people to do what I do.
South Africans are protective because of what we have witnessed over the years, the amount of drug dealers coming from other countries, and its not to say South africans don't sell drug, but they don't go do that in other countries, meaning they respect those countries, but our country is not respected by many of these people. Sad thing is, when the country get turns into a banana republic, Many of them will go to their countries and leave us struggling

I find it wild that I have never ever met Nigerian women in Durban. Yes, KZN is overprotective because of our history & it's wild to me that we can allow children coming from other countries to be born here and study from grade 0 -12 but can't access higher education or get citizenship even 12 years later. What are they supposed to do? As a country, we need to improve our immigration. As a continent, we need to figure out what African freedom and sustainability that enables all of us to flourish. I'm a proud SA who's working to unite the world through humanity and sport.
