Would it be better to have one string instead of double string? The strings keep binding/twisting on each other.

Your strings are twisting because your fingers tighten around them or you are using your arms more than your wrists to spin the sticks. Try making an "OK" sign with your fingers and spin the sticks. Takes practice.

One of the videos covers that. Spreading your fingers apart will shorten the strings and alow you to catch the stick.
