I'm 3d and field longbow competitor. As I have recently started to read books from coach Kisik Lee, I find your channel very interesting.
It's good to read, but it is also good to be able to see techniques explained and executed from someone who not only understands them, but is able also to execute them.
I'm very grateful for your free knowledge!
Thank you, and best wishes from me!

Thanks Jake for yet another insightful and invaluable video. So much of what you present (and how you present it) is practical and easily applicable. I've not been shooting long but the results due to your input have been remarkable. Best RUclips archery reference by far.

I like the "mental" part of expansion, how you will feel when you finish the shoot. Most of the time I focus too much on setting the clicker off and the muscle part.

    Thanks Jake. I’ve been visualizing
expansion from the tricep moving back behind me. Seeing you doing it and emphasizing Lan2 moving parallel is completely different. I’ll give your way a go. I shoot barebow, so no clicker, but having a consistent expansion will help my form and results. 👍

Thank you Jake for this impressive video. Why impressive to me? Two aspects: first the focus on the angular movement, not on the muscles; and second, the focus on where I want to be after the shot. Now I really understand the importance of following through and I know my next practicing goals.

Gee no wonder I kept shaking like crazy as I was doing the expansion and also having the tendencies to have the anchor shifting. Applied your advice on adding bicep tension but not over doing it and I think I'm feeling my shot a lot more cleaner in the release and execution. Also the advice on reaching the C spot really helped me on continuing the expansion well after the clicker has clicked reducing my chance of collapse. Thanks Jake.

Hi Jake, so interestingly I've always had much better groups when I had some tension in my bicep but I was so determined to keep the back half relaxed that I'd sacrifice the stability and higher scores for something I'd hoped would settle down in the future. Thanks for sharing and not making me feel like I was crazy.

It would be much better, I think, if you could add pictorial diagrams or photos from above plus some important lines on what you have explained starting at 2:5, especially on the angular movements, elbow hinges, etc. This is very important for those who are not English speakers and, consequently, you would have wider audiences outside your country. Thank you!

    Hi Jake,
I've seen this video in the past and implement it but now have a question. When you load, transfer and expand using LAN2 does that change the shoulder alignment you already set perfectly at Set-up? What do you think about an opinion that shoulder alignment should not change from Set-up [to release]? Or have I missed something?
    Thanks in advance

  • @eduardbasilio

Hey Jake! I was wondering what’s your take on my technique. I don’t do push-pull method but instead after my draw arm anchors, I push my shoulder out like towards the target to trigger the clicker and i get almost consistent groupings, not really tight (at 15m beginner) but very close. Thank you!

Hi Jake. Greetings from Malaysia. I am new to trad archery (asiatic - turkish bow). I believe olympic is the best form and scientifically research. My goal is to apply olympic form to trad archery (as much as possible). My 'seniors' at where i train kept telling me to extend my draw arm while pushing my bow arm to the point of 100% scapular retraction (til they meet) - they call this 'transfer'. I feel that it is a bit too much 'expansion'. Whats your advise on this ? Tqvm Jake.

Jake.. no matter how much I feel like I’m pulling through the shot, when I watch the slow mo footage of my release I see my elbow slightly moving forwards until the shot breaks. Have any advice on how to fix this?Is it possible to draw too far that I can’t continue to expand? Thanks for the awesome videos

So I am at full draw (100%) when I anchor and then "Transfer + Expansion" puts me to maybe 105% of my draw and it finishes there? That means "Clicker and Release" is at around 102.5% maybe? Or should I anchor at 97.5% so that I release at exactly 100% of my full draw. I hope you get what I am asking. This question came up after using a DIY shot trainer, I was like that Japanese archer from you video when I first used it; now I know what I have to work on!

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  4 года назад

Hard to explain without a video, I can do that soon. In the meantime, one cannot go more then 100% so in my definition I would say, holding is at 90% of capacity of movement and then expansion is up till 95% where release happens. You need to be able to move when needed.
