When he called us "beans" I felt so much joy in my heart! After I finished the video I just kept repeating the beginning where he says, "Hey beans!"
Riley Kershaw your not the only one… I have watched his channel since the beginning, and being a bean, being a spinny boi, that was what made me happy. I used to get so excited everytime a new video came out, and I would run to my room, lay down on my bed and enjoy every second of it. I feel sad that hes gone, not from AJ, just from youtube. I would feel better to hear his voice in new videos. I will always miss not being able to see new videos, or hear his voice, but I get how he feels.

This video is a perfect explanation of so much, especially for unmotivated RUclipsrs/Jammers. There's whole periods on my channel where I just don't upload because I can't force myself to on a game I'm slowly losing interest in. I've become more active in the Instajam community because there it feels like people are still alive, and it's what's keeping me on this game, but RUclips viewership and AJ playership has definitely decreased no matter how positive or determined you want to be about creating content. As part of my own 2 cents, I find it the worst that AJHQ probably is only going to continue the cycle of recycling literally everything that goes on every year. They're not too keen on even adding new features to AJPC because AJPW is a better investment since it's mobile-AJPW has received packs, sapphire-bought membership, weekly membership awards, animal treasure hunts, den/animal bundles, a STEADY stream of new (NOT RECYCLED) items and so much more. What does AJPC, the game that initially built the community, get or have gotten in the past 4-ish years? Masterpieces and one new land.
Anyways, other than the wall of text up there, do whatever you feel is best! We're all supportive of your choice and thank you for making your content.

This is truly the end of an era. Thank you for everything you gave me and my brother, the laughs, the smiles. You need to do, what you need to do. You don't need to feel obligated to keep doing something you dread, you deserve to live your life normally. You deserve to do what you want to do. I honestly feel the same way you do about Animal Jam, I just...I lost interest. It was repetitive, it wasn't as appealing and fun as it had been when I first played it. The magic is gone. Either way, I wish you luck in where you decide to go next, Thank you, for everything, Julian.

I definitely lose motivation when I see how little engagement there is on my channel now. It's not about being view hungry lol but having people watch your videos and say how much they enjoy them 100% gets you excited to get out their and continue making videos for the people who enjoy them :^)

Hey Julian! I watched you for 8 years... Animal Jam used to be really fun for me but then it kind of driffted away. Animal Jam never changed for me... I was a non member for 6 years and the only things I could play where 3 adventures (before the update I wasnt interested when the update came out), arcade games , 2 animals etc.. There wasnt a lot of things to do as a non member. I quitted about 2 years ago. You where and still are a really inspiring person that I have always looked up to. I am happy that you are happy and I am happy with your decision Julian

It's been 9 months.... 9 months since you left... And can I say, the community has never felt emptier... Seeing your face talking to us for the first time in these past long 9 months, you have no idea how emotional this made me... and I'm sure everyone else. I know this is your goodbye video, but just you talking to us again, just made us as community feel whole again. You have no idea how much we've missed you... How sad we were that we never got a goodbye video until now. How much we felt betrayed, sad, depressed, and empty. I understand why you left now and respect your decision, but I will still never not miss you in this community. I never liked any AJ youtuber like I liked you Julian. Everyone felt the same to me, but you were different. Your channel was real. it was funny. It was intellectual. It was creative. And overall, it was entertaining. This game was my childhood. I played it everyday for years with my friends, but I started to notice things. I felt like all the updates were just some random new animal, not anything new or really that exiting. All of my friends noticed these things to so they quit. I was also getting older and I started to play different games I wasn't the same little girl anymore. Around this time I became bored with the Aj youtubers just because I was older. Then the only thing that was fun anymore was roleplaying in my den alone. My membership ran out and at that time I knew that I was too old, I didn't find it fun anymore, and It was just plain boring. So I quit. I will always remember Aj as a fun game that I played when I was little. Thank you animal jam for being fun but now I say my goodbyes. Thank you

I can relate, I stopped playing a few years back because I lost connection with my friends and the game itself just lost my interest 😧
i'm stuck in the cycle of coming back to the game for a few months, playing it nonstop, then leaving it alone for a year or so and then repeating that cycle and it's so exhausting but it's the only part of my childhood i have left and i for some reason can't let go of it. and it's been a while since you quit, i've been watching your videos from the very beginning and to see that you're doing all these cool things is so inspiring to me. you're only a few years older than me but i hope eventually i can also get to a point where i'm content with where i am and who i'm becoming :'( thank you for making my childhood and my favorite game ten times more enjoyable :)

I quit two years back, basically bc I got tired of doing the same things over and over again. I gave my account away to my niece a few months back, and honestly, I feel happier now. i got away from gaming and into design, where i created things that people were actually liking. Julian, thank you for being such a huge inspiration to many including me. I have been a long time fan and watching your videos has put a huge smile on my face each and everyday. I remember first watching one of your videos and running over to my neighbors house in such excitement to tell her about you. A few years later I decided to create a Julian2 fanpage called lucky_is_a_bean (now lucky_is_a_musical_bean) and let me tell you that was the best decision of my life. Not only did I get to connect with you and a lot of amazing Julian2 fans but I made some amazing friends out of it, friends that are so close I feel as if we'll be by each other's side forever. All of this is because of you Julian, all of those happy days and all of that excitement is because of you and I can't possibly thank you enough. Im gonna really miss him, he made me smile when I had nobody to make me happy, I cried when I watched his videos back knowing that he was not happy, but at least I could see his face one last time. I get why he left and I respect his decision. It makes me sad that for all those videos he was faking it all, puting a mask on for a game I thought he enjoyed. if anybody is a fan of you they just want you to be happy. If you aren't enjoying it then you don't need to. I don't want you to feel obligated to do anything honestly I want you to stop. Not because I didn't enjoy you, because I did but I agree with you, you should be happy when doing this. It shouldn't be a chore, It should be for you.
Man I remember when I would get so exited to see a video get uploaded by you and I would try to get into a room you were in to meet you in game. I've noticed as well that I wasn't interested in the game like I used to, I bought a membership a month ago thinking it would make it more interesting but it wasn't. It was the same thing over and over. Anyways I forgot about the game all together and started trying new things.
I have to say, it's sad to see you go and to say goodbye to a part of my childhood but what makes me happy is that you're happy. And that's what matters.

The sad thing is I stopped Aj about 5 years ago and I randomly remembered aj yt channels I came to see how it was going, and its pretty sad to see that my childhood youtubers are moving on, but that's life I guess T-T But I understand where your coming from, and I hope you find something new that makes you happy :D

You are absolutely right with all of your points in this video. I'm 15 years old and have been playing Animal Jam since 2011 and I've actually started to loose a bit of interest for the game as well. The only time I really log on is when I'm playing with most of my young friends or if I'm going to make a video since most my viewers are younger.

I will truly miss you as you were the only animal jam youtuber I watched.
Honestly I quit before you did but after so many other people quit and seeing Aparri, a main aj figure leave I decided it would be time to play my childhood game. I genuinely have fun now after randomly buying membership this Christmas. I use the worth wiki to get items, and I feel like I just started the game fresh. Maybe this feeling will go away soon, like a month or so but I’m enjoying it while it’s lasting.
The only thing I would hate to see is animal jam shutting down in favor of Play Wild, the really bad version of this great game. Seriously, the graphics are so bad and the scammers are even worse than Animal Jam itself xD

I always play ajpw because my laptop is too slow for pc and pc costs too much to have fun. A month ago I would have argued with you over this, but now I agree as I have (secretly) started having thoughts of quitting the game. The only thing holding me back is how much money I've already put into it, the fun I had when those memberships and things were active, (they are no longer fun for me) and what I'd do with my spare time. I could play Stardew Valley, but I've already finished that game. I could play Minecraft, which I have played since my brothers learned about it (just after beta) but Minecraft is also, unfortunately, getting boring for me. Now I only have one entertainment source left: RUclips. I tried making videos, got boring. Watching channels, fun, but entertaining videos don't come whenever I want them too. Watching old videos can get boring. I'm doomed on tech.

I am the same way. I would play Animal Jam for 1-3 weeks, then I would stop playing for a few months. I have been playing since 2014, and that is when I played the most. I cant really find what animal jam is doing to keep new content coming. Like I said, 4 years ago, I was so excited about the summer carnival. I then figured out it came around every year. I dont understand the concept or the point of the game. I say things normal things, chat, play minigames, then I fight with a 5 year old. Its been going on for the past 4 years, but I dont want to quit. I was really young when I started playing. I am 13 now. The point is, AJ gets really boring, and they dont add new things.

dang i started playing 4 years ago starting this month and i’m 14. i also completely understand.
it was nice when it had a different theme and the animations were different. the theme was more like National Geographic. Now it’s like Animal Jam is running out of ideas to spark that inspiration and creativity.

Julian, I grew up watching you and starting getting into AJ. I stopped recently because I moved to different games. When I was younger I made LPS videos that still are on my channel. I lovd making them and was really passionate about them. But i understand you completely when you said you also grew to dread it. Thats how making videos felt for me. I got into animation to pursue what i want to do in life. I will never forget my AJ days or my LPS video days, but we all grow and move on. I moved to different games that suited more to my taste as a teenager. Fortnite, Overwatch, Portal, Gmod, Etc.

I quit AJ around 2-3 years ago and I regret leaving my AJ channel at 2.6K subscribers but I haven’t looked back since. It’s changed a lot and u know I’m a teen in high school now I ain’t playing Animal Jam. I remember Julian2 was the first AJ youtuber I watched. AJ used to be my life and I was pretty much addicted to this game, but I don’t see anything worth staying for. League of Legends is my game now :)

You've been an amazing person, and this entire experience of seeing your channel grow, and you grow as a person along with it? It's just been amazing. If I'm being honest here, I don't really play Animal Jam anymore, though I log on every now and then, and here I am - going into my freshman year and pretty much in tears because you're a channel I've been with for a very long time, and it's incredibly difficult to let you go.
I gravitate towards you as a person, I find you interesting, and your videos gave me life when I needed them. It made a lot of my AJ experience worthwhile, and I can't thank you enough for that.
Please, keep being you, and just.. thank you. It's hard to see you go, but I promise, your time and dedication here will be remembered. Just keep us in mind, and we'll be here for you.

I understand how you feel. It's hard to have time for yourself when your a RUclipsr but having a break is great. I understand what your talking about it's hard to keep uploading videos up very day and lots of editing. I miss you making videos you inspired me to start Animal Jam and to join RUclips and I want to thank you for that. I used to adore Animal Jam, I actually considered becoming an AJPW RUclipsr!
But then It’s just - kinda plain. Constant repeats of basically everything and nothing was enjoyable anymore.
I then realised that it was hard for Animal Jam youtubers to get many views anymore unless its a massive giveaway or something and it all just lost It’s spark.
Im 17 now and going on 18 but loved the game since I was about 10 but honestly? The sparks just diminished over the years.
All it is now is being asked constantly to trade with people and It’s gotten to the point now where the only connection I have with the game is through an AJPW Amino, for those that know what that is and I’m only still on that because I have friends there and have actually started just using all of my items for art commissions.
I also occasionally hop on because my sister who’s 10 now wants to show me a new item or wants to just wants to mess around a bit in general. This is why I honestly relate to the whole passing it onto the next generation thing.
Besides that, It’s all basically just the same old game from 7 years ago. It started off strong and as a fun new platform and genre in general but even thats lost it’s spark. There’s so many games like it now that it’s just repetitive and the game hasn’t changed a bit except for beta items suddenly coming back and everybody being scammed or hacked. The communities basically just gotten toxic to be around. //said the Undertale trash//
But seriously, I do have so much respect for you to just go on and be so happy about life now and I wish you the best of luck in times to come.

My exact thoughts. It’s just become boring, same thing every day, not much to do. I’m 17 now, and when I used to play it was for, admittedly, the roleplay community because I found there were players my age there. But they’ve mostly left and it’s just become a kid’s game. The adventures are boring, the trading is boring, and the community is slowly dying..
Kay Very true. I used to play it every single day and whenever possible and had so much fun but now it’s just died down. Everything the same, over and over, nothing much to do. Also the separation between members and nonmembers, friends rares, and many other things have become a problem. Not even the adventures are fun anymore and whenever the very rare chance. Log on, I turn to the only thing that mad it fun for me, roleplays and even those aren’t fun anymore with the rare chance of them even appearing. And if so, becoming boring and quickly dying. None of my buddies even are on whenever I’m on.
