Our Story:
We are Carissa, Iwan & Frankie the sausage dog, and in 2020 decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month we were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call home. We picked up Albi, Joao and Simao the cats along the way, as well as Diogo the podengo and a flock of chickens.

Diogo was the star of the show last week but he has excelled himself yet again! What extraordinary speed he runs at, he is super impressive! (2:15 ish) And also very obviously intelligent and happy - a great credit to you two.
20 pallets of "stuff"?! That's a heck if a lot - so I can't help speculating what it's for ... second story on the granite barn, as hinted at a week or so back?
He is quite an amazing dog 😊 I think you might have to find yourself a podenco too Neil! oh it’s 20 pallets, completely empty, it’s the pallets themselves we’ll be using :)

I had to look up what a podenco was ... a Diogo! Another wrong, linked, assumption - I had guessed that 'Diogo" was Portuguese for 'dog' or 'doggy' but then watched Diogo J playing for Liverpool! What were his parents thinking, giving him the name 'Doggy"? Harsh. So I looked up "Diogo" ... oops - it is related to Diego/Jacob/James

I think they may have a rare Iberian Ostrich that hides next to olive trees and all they've seen are the legs because its body is hidden up in the foliage

Loved this week's video, dogs,😊 cats 😊 chickens 😊 and puppies 😊. Can't wait for the Clarissa breakdown on solar this will be extremely helpful for our off grid future property we are in South Wales so not as sunny as Portugal 😂. Currently building a gabion wall from stone on our land and a way of using up waste hard-core from our cottage renovation, we had to remove a lot of 80's remodeling to get back to the existing stone. The gabion wall is not as difficult as your stone wall😂 but looks like you are doing a sterling job. Loved the frittata recipe going to be giving that a try. Can't wait for more gardening, seed sewing tips too ❤

Do you have a 'stone-eye', my old neighbour asked me in his special dialect, when I was making a small stone retaining wall many years ago. Finding the right stones is what takes most of the time. You are doing good. It looks great already. Nice video!

An awesome bit of work - just remember to keep the cement moist so it doesn't dry out too fast - a great time of year to be doing it and it will make a massive difference in terms of water supply. The wall looks fantastic - you are doing a cracking job. It has been terrific weather - Lukes video of the guys we had building our stone gate may be useful - they were amazing over 100 years of building rock wall experience between them. We will be in touch about some work soon and it would be great to have you over fora meal.

Iwan is really getting good with the stones around the well. One section there with some smaller rocks looked like a work of art. I guess it could be considered a work of art! lol. Put your initials on it somewhere. Get a paw print of the dogs and cats in some cement somewhere on the well. Will be a permanent memory for you. Be sure to put the date on it too! Love watching your videos, so idealic and peaceful! A lot of hard work though. Have you ever watched a You Tube channel called Handeeman? He and his wife built an ingenious water collecting system in the middle of the desert if you ever find that you aren't collecting enough with climate change etc. thanks for the videos.

Wondering why you don’t train your grapevines to trellises. It keeps the fruits off the ground and shades the grapes to prevent sunburn. I live in California’s central valley and the weather is similar to your area. 😊
They’ve actually been trained in the goblet or bush style.. the grapes very rarely form on the ground. When we get round to planting vines then they’ll be trained differently.

Bom trabalho. No final devia levar uma camada de concreto com varões de ferro de 8mm de diâmetro, para dar fortaleza à lage, caso contrario poderão partir- se blocos. É um perigo andar em cima deles conforme estão. Colocar uma tábua para isso.
