Yeah the game itself isn't awesome, but it's great for Terminator fans. It have a lot to do with Terminator movies 1 and 2. But was sad that we we're not able to fight T-1000 for example. No T-600 that we're destroyable from rifles and shotguns. I wish we could push back T-800 with shotgun shoots, and do like 5 shoots to make him fall buying us some time to run, but done just a super minimal damage to him like a 1% health loss.

I think that the game was pretty regular for people not very interested in Terminator. But for us Terminator lovers, it was finally the third part we were waiting for since 1991.

Isn't the final battle at the L.A. Skynet complex facility? That is where the main TDE is located. All installations all over the world was attacked at the same time in a coordinated assault.

John knew it would be suicide to go head-to-head with Skynet, that's why he ordered a squad or a platoon to take out the local power grid at the same time to shutdown the automatic factories & the wireless communication towers from Skynet controlling thier air & ground units. Meanwhile the rest of world take care of theirs at the same to stop Skynet from relcocating assets, they were force to spread themselves thin.

I think what makes this work so well is that it takes the original purpose of the Terminator theme and flips it on its head a bit. The original theme has this rising tension, this unmistakable sense that something is coming, something is inevitable, and the film makes it clear that thing is the Terminator. Reese gets a whole speech about it and all that. But this time? That rising tension and knowledge that something inevitable is coming is still there, but mixed more with the heroic, triumphant music. Victory is what's inevitable, this is the battle that sets the first two Terminator films into motion, as well as the events of this very game. It mixes well with a fight where you're mowing down Terminators, you've even got the biggest one of all on your side, because it's shouting that you're going to win here, Skynet is finished, and its just trying to buy time...

I've wanted a movie set in the T2 future war for over 30 years. To this day I still watch that opening scene from time to time on youtube. It's one of those scenes that has never been properly done any other Terminator movie.

the music for this game is excellent, blew me away how good the sound and music of this game is. None of the other movies could capture the theme of the first two movies. So good to have a game that has a great OST in a time a lot of gaming has fewer really stand-out OST's. This is one of them, and the best track in the game. A lot of critics and some people call this game things like "generic" or criticize the game for older graphics. I went into this not knowing what to expect aside from what I watched of the hospital gameplay, and while the start is a little on the slow side with spiders, it didn't put me off. I really enjoyed the game and each level it got better, especially that final mission, playing a version of the battle that was the opening of Terminator 2! Also I liked the older gameplay style, not everything has to be next gen graphics and gameplay! but here, the music is one of the best things about it.
Fully agree, and you know, even though this game didn't have the best voice acting or graphics, it did have two MAJOR things many games today lack: heart and soul. Take this track for example, I could really feel the emotion while storming Skynet's defense grid. I wanted so badly to get to the TDE in an attempt to put an end to the cycle so no one else would have to go back in time. This game nailed the ending, and I loved it. Glad I bought it as a hardcore T1/T2/SCC fan.

It was the Terminator game made by fans who know what Terminator is and had the heart and soul to deliver even with their limitations and flaws.

This is one of the best games I've played in the last few years, even though it does have some problems and even though it's far too easy. @@LumosX Took me too months to notice a reply, that's a fail. Absolutely with you here, it's the little things and how loyal to the original movies it was that makes it so good. Not everything needs to the next release in games mechanics. Sometimes going backwards works too. The devss gave it all, and I don't see why having a hacking game be based on frogger is bad, it fits the 90's theme they were going for! You get 80's and 90's America references with clues to the movies. Hell, we even see how the T-1000 got it's infiltrator look in-universe. You could say I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not fast enough so I died a bunch here and there in some of the later firefights. I'd like to see other games or movies make sequels that match the settings of the classics like this, without shoving in modern changes. It would have been cool to have a mission where you were on the gun of a truck chased by a Aeriel HK though, but i'm not sure they have time or knew how to do it well.
Yes this OST was awesome I’m glad they used the terminator theme for the game it’s self and used it as the battle theme when you stormed skynet.. every emotion could be felt not going to lie when I was storming the field I was using just my 2nd gen assault plasma rifle and then I said nope and pulled out the plasma mini gun and said in my head with my hands shaking on my controller... this ends tonight skynets reign ends now!! FOR THE RESISTANCE!!!! Then when you get up to the HK tank that’s connors and they say check your fire that tank is ours I sat there and felt the surge to finish the fight even more and ran up in a metal lust rage and started running up on terminators close combat shooting them down definitely a lot of emotions felt during this mission and with the theme playing in the background.
Each time I play this part hearing this theme I cry in feeling hope in my heart yelling "SKYNET!!" And laugh and cry at the same time when the machines shut down yelling "YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" and looked up to John Connor as the hero and true leader he is as well as Sarah Connor for preparing him as the man he is!
That was probably one of the most satisfying endings in a game yet...Rivers only moments away from getting killed, so close to victory but then you get to witness the fall of Skynet, gives you a feeling that something was actually accomplished, that the time loop is finally closed and that everything you did meant something.
I think the only way they could have made it better was fighting through the annihilation line to get to the TDE facility...that would have been damn epic.

After playing about halfway through, I gotta say, Terminator Resistance is quite possibly the best Terminator game I've ever played. That's not saying a lot, though since I've only ever played this one and the Arcade Shooter from '91

It was really cool how they tied the opening future war sequence of T2 as well as the reprogramed T-800 and T-1000 time travel event into the same final battle that saw Kyle and the first Terminator sent back in time. I always assumed that the events of T2 happened because Skynet was somehow able to back itself up somewhere to continue the war and that sending the T-1000 back in time was its second separate attempt to change the past. It was an interesting little twist that the events of both T1 and T2 were set into motion at the same time.
Hopefully they'll make a sequel with an even larger budget that still stays true to the setting by then. That said, this story was quite finished in this game, so I'll be more than fine without any sequels at all.

This sequence was AMAZING! I played on hard so even with level 5 endurance I still died in only a few hits, so I had to hit and fade, pop a terminator with plasma or a rocket then duck before I get lit up. It really was a desperate attack but we managed it, despite the odds.
This should have been the last “Terminator” film - it ties a lot of the plot threads of the first two films together and gives a satisfying conclusion. Take note writing team that made “dark fate” - this is what you should have done instead whatever garbage you pulled from your asses!

When i played this game, it felt like t1 and t2 got the ending they deserved. From start to finish. As i stormed skynet side by side with the resistance i felt electric, i was totally enthralled and on the verge of tears from the sheer awesome feeling it was too see the true ending of terminator. I cant believe i got to live that moment and thank god i was able. To me, at this point, terminator isnt a saga, it is a trillogy. T1, t2 and then tr. The only canon acceptable.
Whoever made this game needs to make another but make it free roam like fallout 4 and with a long campaign I loved this one but would still love another

In 2022, saying this game isn't a AAA game is basically a compliment at this point. Big time studios suck now. It's all formulaic trash calculated to the tiniest detail to sell. We have to look to small studios and indie games to keep alive the "art" of video games.
Look, no matter your standpoint on this game, you gotta at least admit that the developers tried. This could've easily just been a generic call of duty clone, but they chose to put the time and effort into making it a bit more unique. They didn't have to add in the crafting, the rpg element or dialogue options. Nope, they chose to. And for that they have my respect
Hope you all know that this game was and its in same time only preguel and sequel on one , after the Terminator 2 from 1991 👆. The franchise end in theatre as old John Connor with his son as dad and his mother as Gradma on playground , because Judgment day never happened after they destroy Skynet with Miles Dison . After a while they cut this ending because they want to continue on the franchise because of what ? yeah money .... but its was pararel lines so at least for me Terminator 2 is true ending of franchise and after a f****g 28 years of waiting with so many disspapointing films , they create at least in game version a TRUE !! story for hardcore fans .
Consider the fact, it was the same studio that made Rambo: The Game. T:R was literally their first game, that actually received positive praise from the players.
Instead we got a movie with tentacle sludge monsters as Terminators. The game wasn't amazing, it was just set where we wanted the franchise to go. (ITS A DAMN SHAME)
Salvation should've been about how the Resistance formed and who are the first members. Also it should feature the earliest form of humanoid Terminators.

You get 80's and 90's America references with clues to the movies. Hell, we even see how the T-1000 got it's infiltrator look in-universe.
You could say I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not fast enough so I died a bunch here and there in some of the later firefights. I'd like to see other games or movies make sequels that match the settings of the classics like this, without shoving in modern changes. It would have been cool to have a mission where you were on the gun of a truck chased by a Aeriel HK though, but i'm not sure they have time or knew how to do it well.
Yes this OST was awesome I’m glad they used the terminator theme for the game it’s self and used it as the battle theme when you stormed skynet.. every emotion could be felt not going to lie when I was storming the field I was using just my 2nd gen assault plasma rifle and then I said nope and pulled out the plasma mini gun and said in my head with my hands shaking on my controller... this ends tonight skynets reign ends now!! FOR THE RESISTANCE!!!! Then when you get up to the HK tank that’s connors and they say check your fire that tank is ours I sat there and felt the surge to finish the fight even more and ran up in a metal lust rage and started running up on terminators close combat shooting them down definitely a lot of emotions felt during this mission and with the theme playing in the background.
I want a sequel where you play as a member of the 124th sent to destroy SkyNet
They just released "the Annihilation line" dlc. Rivers joins Kyle reese on a mission beyond they're capability. That would be an awesome dlc tho.

This probably one of the most epic moments I had in a game. Beat so many "AAA" titles in my opinion in terms of getting you invested
This epic soundtrack was perfect for the final assault on Skynet's base!
Each time I play this part hearing this theme I cry in feeling hope in my heart yelling "SKYNET!!" And laugh and cry at the same time when the machines shut down yelling "YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" and looked up to John Connor as the hero and true leader he is as well as Sarah Connor for preparing him as the man he is!
That was probably one of the most satisfying endings in a game yet...Rivers only moments away from getting killed, so close to victory but then you get to witness the fall of Skynet, gives you a feeling that something was actually accomplished, that the time loop is finally closed and that everything you did meant something.
Problem with this level was it was too short! I wanted it to be the longest and toughest level in the game.
I think the only way they could have made it better was fighting through the annihilation line to get to the TDE facility...that would have been damn epic.

Although it still has Fallout 4-era graphics, it was pretty good.
After playing about halfway through, I gotta say, Terminator Resistance is quite possibly the best Terminator game I've ever played. That's not saying a lot, though since I've only ever played this one and the Arcade Shooter from '91

Don't know why but that line always gets me.
For me it's seeing Skynet finally fall...that felt like the end of the war and a closure of the time loop the story created.

This time, you finally go down for good!"

It was really cool how they tied the opening future war sequence of T2 as well as the reprogramed T-800 and T-1000 time travel event into the same final battle that saw Kyle and the first Terminator sent back in time. I always assumed that the events of T2 happened because Skynet was somehow able to back itself up somewhere to continue the war and that sending the T-1000 back in time was its second separate attempt to change the past. It was an interesting little twist that the events of both T1 and T2 were set into motion at the same time.

Hopefully they'll make a sequel with an even larger budget that still stays true to the setting by then.
That said, this story was quite finished in this game, so I'll be more than fine without any sequels at all.

This sequence was AMAZING! I played on hard so even with level 5 endurance I still died in only a few hits, so I had to hit and fade, pop a terminator with plasma or a rocket then duck before I get lit up. It really was a desperate attack but we managed it, despite the odds.
I was more glad that they kept John as a complete mistery.
This game was an average FPS at best, but DAMN if you're a Terminator fan it's amazing.
This should have been the last “Terminator” film - it ties a lot of the plot threads of the first two films together and gives a satisfying conclusion.
Take note writing team that made “dark fate” - this is what you should have done instead whatever garbage you pulled from your asses!

When this played,
I felt EMPOWERED, so I switched to the purple LMG and destroyed any metal in my way.

When i played this game, it felt like t1 and t2 got the ending they deserved. From start to finish. As i stormed skynet side by side with the resistance i felt electric, i was totally enthralled and on the verge of tears from the sheer awesome feeling it was too see the true ending of terminator. I cant believe i got to live that moment and thank god i was able. To me, at this point, terminator isnt a saga, it is a trillogy. T1, t2 and then tr. The only canon acceptable.
I always had a question about " what would happen if we would atack the rocket launchers During the final assault? "
We got Skynet by the balls theme. C'mon, let's book.
Whoever made this game needs to make another but make it free roam like fallout 4 and with a long campaign I loved this one but would still love another

In 2022, saying this game isn't a AAA game is basically a compliment at this point. Big time studios suck now. It's all formulaic trash calculated to the tiniest detail to sell. We have to look to small studios and indie games to keep alive the "art" of video games.
Look, no matter your standpoint on this game, you gotta at least admit that the developers tried.
This could've easily just been a generic call of duty clone, but they chose to put the time and effort into making it a bit more unique.
They didn't have to add in the crafting, the rpg element or dialogue options. Nope, they chose to.

Hope you all know that this game was and its in same time only preguel and sequel on one , after the Terminator 2 from 1991 👆. The franchise end in theatre as old John Connor with his son as dad and his mother as Gradma on playground , because Judgment day never happened after they destroy Skynet with Miles Dison . After a while they cut this ending because they want to continue on the franchise because of what ? yeah money .... but its was pararel lines so at least for me Terminator 2 is true ending of franchise and after a f****g 28 years of waiting with so many disspapointing films , they create at least in game version a TRUE !! story for hardcore fans .
