Several creators have posted "ply on the fly" with their Turkish spindles. I have tried it and it is pretty cool but I have not done it enough to get a good consistent chain. Love the yarn today!!❤
I’m equally in love with spinning on my Turkish spindles. I first tried a drop spindle, and hated the whole process, much to my surprise. But with my first twirl of my first Turkish spindle, I felt like I had come home. Your video posting is perfect timing for me. I am almost finished spinning my Snow on the Pines rolags from you, and started thinking about how best to ply my singles. I think it will be a two-ply. My initial spin was more inconsistent than I like for trying to chain ply. It was quite fun to see your Ig post in Banff this morning, and have you plying in your living room this afternoon. Thanks for making a video for your vacation away time! harpingJanet
i always tie a knot at the end of the pled yarn, then cut the little loop in half before letting it wind on the bobbin .. that way theres no way the ply is coming loose.
The double turtle is easy! When you are ready to wind for the new round instead of doing it on top and maintaining the square on the bottom wrap the bottom same as the top under 1 over 2.
So pretty! That is the toughest part for me - plying spindle-spun yarn. The Turkish spindle has got to beca great help!

Thanks Janet! Keep Spinning Happy!
I also enjoy my Turkish spindles, however I love supported spinning more because I can do it a faster. I would add the word addictive to your list!
