Fab batrep from the NorthWest division and the camera magic is far better. Both armies looked great👍. Given Sepsitorized troops do not count Victory Points for either side, I'd assume neither side would be able to claim the points if the troop managed to escape off the table.
Nice one, thanks for the report! Love your banter, guys. :D Was the Caliban's base more than half into the room? From the ITS rules: "A Trooper is inside the ZO when more than half the Trooper’s base is inside that tower." Also, just something I noticed: Flash Pulse's have Stun ammunition, which cause 2 BTS saves to be made for each hit. Very easy to miss, because it doesn't say DA on the weapon chart.
Fab match! Out of interest (as a newb) when the troop threw smoke that enveloped an enemy model.. would the enemy model have revived an option to dodge because it had been effected by a template? Just wondered. Still getting to grips w the rules myself 😅
The model could have reacted to an order being spent within 8" (zone of control). As smoke is non-lethal there is no roll to just being hit by it. If it had been a blast from a missile or similar (that could hurt) then a dodge would have been a valid reaction.
The answer is yes you can ARO if a smoke template lands on you. (page 21 of the rules) You are not required to perform a *guts* roll, (page 45) but you absolutely can perform an ARO.
Two other things that happened at near the end of the game - not that either one would have determined the outcome, but just good habits to get into. First up, Void moves the Caliban Engineer in to see the Oznat - who dodges. At that point in the game, the Oznat doesn't really mean anything, while the Caliban is a specialist (and the only model that is contesting the objective). Given the odds, the better play is to template the Caliban with the Vulkan Shotgun - a) it is Continuous, so it may just burn him off the board completely and b) Even if he's just unconscious, the Gaki can just coup de grace him on the next turn. Given that Ogre didn't do that, and instead berserked the Caliban with the Gaki, the correct move is to cc back with a D-charge. One, it allows you to suck up multiple wounds from the Gaki, and two, if the Gaki goes straight to dead, it doesn't explode.
So - just a thought - instead of eating the 37 incoming shots as you move into the Avatar, you could have either: A) Speculative Fired the Smoke onto the Avatar on an 11 (meaning you could then walk in on your next order without getting shot at) OR B) Dodge into CC with the Avatar on a 14 - which would have negated all the shots coming your way, and then murdered the Avatar in CC pretty easily.
Lobo those are great ideas. I was actually so excited about getting into CC I didn't think at all about getting shot. Should have thought it through better 😂
Cannot believe the CA player used his Charontid to try and shoot the Yaogat at long range with a multi rifle. The Avatar was right there, why not use that instead? Better stats all round and more able to tank an unlucky result.
Excellent battle report, always great to see and hear you two in a game.
yeah it was good to paint too
Beautiful models panted!!!
Avatar could ARO shooting the daturazi before it hunting down Charontid.
Good spot, I completely missed that….😂
Shhhh. Don't give him ideas!!
Excellent report guys.
They are definitely getting better
Nice batrep. I would love to se a painting video of that CA scheme. I really dig your greys.
yeah the put Stormshroud and I to shame,
you can get more painting from the Tale of 4 pandas series we did
Clear camo markers on a white table feels a bit cheeky (to use the parlance)... 😜
Thier camouflaged Camo markers, there supposed to blend in with the scenery 😂
