Synopsis: Based on the critically acclaimed video game “The Last of Us,” developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation® platforms, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. HBO removed Take On Me from the trailer on their channel, big mistake. This version is amazing and better than what they replaced it with

I can’t believe in the hbo official trailer they removed Take on Me. It fit so perfectly compared to the the generic music they changed it to in the main trailer now… the Take on Me version was so great and so full of emotion 😔

@@Rizqy_Rogers I know, it works so well, I kept repeating last maybe 30 seconds because it the song and the emotional scenes worked so well. You know what, I just realised, very oddly, that’s the second time that song has been replaced in something big where it was used beautifully, I don’t know if you’ve seen or remember the bit in Deadpool 2 where he goes to see Vanessa and he finally gets to go through the… curtain type thing that separated them the whole movie, I don’t know much A-Ha but this was a lovely acoustic version that worked beautifully and it was in the cinema version but then when it was released on DVD or streaming they changed it to the Céline Dion song that was used really well early in the movie snd is a really nice song but the acoustic Take on Me worked so perfectly. It’s kind of strange that it’s happened twice in two big projects, same band same song, isn’t it? I wonder why! Odd! 🤷🏻♀️

@@heavybattle6650 riley didn’t turn into a clicker🤓👆. But really what i was talking about was the interaction itself and how it FEELS in character for Ellie, like something that would be in the first game but wasn’t. I wanted new from this show, not just a simple retelling.

I wasn't entirely convinced from the casting but this trailer has changed that, it looks incredibly promising, I'll definitely be tuning in.

I think that nobody liked the casting choices but I'm intrigued now, they seem to channel the characters very well.
Randomly throughout my life I get flashbacks to this trailer-version of "take on me" and I always have to come back and watch it again. Truly a masterful remix.
As long as the writing is halfway decent this should be good. Pedro is a great actor and the kid seems well cast.
Considering its a direct adaptation of the first game and that the writing and characters were like 90 percent of what made the game as good as it is it would be a critical failure if they managed to mess it up. If you remove story , characters and soundtrack from the game you are left with a bland cover shooter that happens to look good.
Great actor? That's your opinion and it's ok. Great Joel? No fng way

Pedro Pascal never disappoints. I'm confident this will do well.

wasnt sure about bella ramsey at first but episode 8 is one of the best performances i’ve ever seen. i can’t wait to see her in the later seasons.

@@David-xc4we I have to agree. as someone who was slightly disappointed by the "Silent Hill" and "Resident evil" films,. As an aged gamer, (oh yes, I'm old enough to have played the originals), I am very, very happy with this series. And yes GoT fan also.

I love that this trailer was almost all new things and the game allows for their to be so much room to add considering the season jumps and a few jumps depending on the section liek they can flesh out winter so much in the show it’s really exciting
Chernobyl was one of the best TV Series I've watched that captures the sense of constant dread of impending doom and suspense. Last of Us was one of the first games to capture that same feeling for me. So the fact that we have the director of an acclaimed TV series like Chernobly directing this, seriously the people in front and behind the cameras could not get any MORE talented. So excited for this show!!!
The shots in this show are incredible! Ima pick this one up physically I just gots to.
This is promising. The original game was already very cinematic, so it lends well to a live action adaptation. The cast is also looking good - seeing Pedro Pascal in particular is pleasantly surprising. Cautiously excited...

The apocalypse genre is going to soar to new heights with this show premiering next month. I can't wait to witness & relive the iconic moments from the video game be played out in live action. I have all the faith in the world this show will honour the game's roots and bring in a new fanbase.

First games is the best. Second is a disappointment and yes I did 100% the first game and coming from a person that is a big fan and having the last of us his number one game, last of us part 2 is the worst game I have played and it's at the very bottom of my list

This zombie show about Hilda and the Mandalorian struggling to get to Lab Discovera is amazing.
Last of Us first episode was amazing, captured the vibe and feel of the games perfectly, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal are the perfect choice for Joel and Ellie 👏👏👏👏

The HBO show is what introduced me to The Last of Us, I’d heard of it before, but never seen anything on it until the show, since then I’ve played both games and I can say without a doubt it is one of my favourite fictional universes ever

I'm still not sold on the actors.. But the issue isn't the actors, is that the original cast did a flawless job in both games, so it's going to be extremely difficult to get close to matching it. I think its best to go in without comparing the two.

I really hope this doesnt discourage people from also playing the game, the original is such a masterpiece and it being an interactive game really adds to the story and its themes so I don't want that to get lost, even if this adaptation ends up being pretty good. I think at best it could only be as good as the game but lacking that interactivity that adds even more depth to the experience.

I like the casting, I like the company producing, I'm hoping for some epic-ness here.
Looks pretty good to be honest. I like that they included Riley from Ellies Left Behind DLC.
Keeping expectations low, but this might just be the first ever good adaptation of a video game

There is actually a massive opportunity. A lot of the game is spent looting or solving puzzles. If they take that time and convert it into more character moments, flesh out back stories, and give us even deeper looks into these beloved characters... wow. This could be big.
“Take on me” is a really nice little touch. I hope they continue that level of detail throughout

Man the world looks super close to the games but I'm still unsure if they can nail the characters. Pedro's Joel so far looks super super sick.

@@JesusRaves You can't always find an actress that looks like a game character while also being qualified for the job. Sometimes they have to prioritize the actress's talent instead of appearance. From the trailer, she seems at least able to act like Ellie, now we'll have to wait and see if she can *BE* Ellie.

Good casting isnt about the looks, its about the acting skill
In the UK she was in a kids TV show where she played a naive but resourceful witch. So it maybe doesnt seem as much of a leap for me as it does for those who have only seen her in GOT
@@fy2346 I’m not saying she must be hot! I’m saying she should have looked like Ellie a little bit at least. Pedro Pascal is a great actor and does resemble Joel. That’s it. The kid was great in GoT and I loved her in that show
@@dim9907 - I don't think youll find many people that have the character to be able to deliver what Ellie needs to deliver. Going from a nobody kid to someone you deeply care about over time. We will see if her skills transition into this.
@@debuthunter5389 I watched the first two episodes. Loved Joel, really loved Tess, freaking loved Sarah but I still don’t love Ellie. I’ve rewatched a few cutscenes of the game compared to the show and I think Ellie in the game it’s better. I’m enjoying the show a lot so I don’t really care so far. Really solid adaptation
