I never heard of this drama before and I don’t usually watch Chinese dramas but this video showed up in my recommended and for some reason I found it quite interesting. I think I have to watch this one!
It's really good it's based on real events, though the records of Ruyi are very limited. After her death, many things were intentionally destroyed, including paintings. We do have some paintings of her, but not as many compared to others from the harem of the Qianlong Emperor.
If you were to watch Yanxi Palace, the show portrays Ruyi as much more conniving and similar to a "snake in the grass." She appears sweet but is ruthless, and some of her actions are quite disturbing. The reason for these varying depictions of Ruyi is due to the limited records about her. Some accounts describe her as a very demure woman who was caring, while others depict her as rather ruthless. What little we do know is that her name was Qingying and she was born of the Ula-Nara clan, though even this is debated. According to sources such as Wikipedia, her father is listed as Narbu in the Genealogy of the Manchu Clans, indicating a descent from Wangginu, a leader of the Hoifa clan. The family's ancestors are listed under "People with the surname Nara in the Hoifa area" as having lived there for generations. Consequently, some modern publications suggest that the Step-Empress was a member of the Hoifa-Nara clan. Since the Ulu-Nara clan is the oldest of the Nara clans, it is thought that the emperor may have had their name changed to Ulu-Nara to elevate their status.
@@brian0902 please do not spread misinformation. This is not based on real event. The story is fictional. Ruyi is loosely based on the second Empress of Emperor QiangLong by borrowing her title only. Some of consort title and the order of birth and death of the princes are correct. Other than that, everything is FICTIONAL. I think it’s best to say the series BORROW real life people, but is not based on them.
@@brian0902 it’s not really based on real events. The death of the princes and concubines and their order are pretty accurate. But a lot of details of the concubines are fabricated because we don’t really know much about them. If according to history, Emperor true love is the Empress that died, not Ruyi as depicted in this series. They found hidden private poems that Emperor wrote telling how heartbroken he is that the Empress is no longer with him and he continue to write poems about her into old age. This is not discover until much later after he died because emperor at that time cannot be reveal to be emotional or people can use it to manipulate him, and marriage in those times are about duty not love. Hence it was surprising to find poems like that from this emperor.

or even at best, they would be considered crown princes if there are no more living princes in the palace and the emperor has no close male relatives (which is nearly 0 anyways)
I hate to say this but with my first I wanted McDonalds chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce. My second, spicy chicken sandes. I had a boy then a girl.
Lol 😂 if I was in that a day and age I would have severely confused everyone! I am currently pregnant with a boy but according to my cravings and that old wives tale I should be pregnant with a girl! Is my first pregnancy that old wives tale of spicy/sweet for a girl and sour for a boy it would’ve been accurate. However for my second I can’t stand sour and I love sweet.

會嗎，辛芷蕾的台詞功底很不錯啊，字正腔圓聲音也很有特色，如懿傳演員台詞比起現在的流量明星沒看字幕根本不知在說什麼好太多了，記得除了皇上跟海藍不是本人配音，其它都是演員自己原聲配的，有些小地方看嘴形跟台詞配不上是因為劇本有改過照成的。
