I’ve been writing songs since I was 13 and even got offered early at young age with my band sa viva kaso nireject dahil dadalhin ako ng grandparents ko sa states dahil namatay mga magulang ko. I just turned 21 lately. 4 years ago I move here sa U.S and I don’t even know if I’m gonna stop writing songs and stop doing music due to that I’m losing hope already. My experience here hasn’t been great. But I’ve been planning to move back to the PH and get noticed again specially by you and or any labels. And I’ll keep working hard. Thank you for this video and realized the potential of my stuff. I know you won’t see this or notice me. Pero I would like to say that your music keeps me goin. Thank you so much sir. Godbless po. Before entering to college, i admit that I really don't know what course am i going to take, it took me a lot of thinking. Hindi ko pa alam kung ano ba ung passion ko in life & @ the same time dapat may drive ka din. But now, i am happy kasi i finished my BBA major in Management course. Anyways, thank you for the advice.

Mr. Blanco this is my question, Do musicians in the Philippines get paid when their songs are played on the radio? How do music royalties work sa atin? Thanks.
As a kid at gradeschool i became passionate about playing the drums but i never really beacame a band, tipong jamming lang and battle of the bands. When i started working, we had this music area in the pantry of our office where you can just bring your instruments. We had a beat box, several guitars, shakers and tambourines so we just played at lunchtime and afternoon break, it was a welcome stress relief. I eventually came to ask myself "If God created me with a talent for playing the drums, what purpose would that have been for?" Then i came to realize it was for worshiping God after all, i didn't have to be part of a regular band but we are a pool of volunteers who chose to use our talents to honor God. I started playing at church when i was already at my mid-thirties and was convinced it was the right decision.

I look up to Rico Blanco and it's cool you encountered him here. This is what I'm doing as well, I'm in my first semester of college. Born and raised in the Philippines, but currently living in the United States. I'm 19 years old and have been playing bass guitar and in love with music since I was 16. I want to eventually become a professional musician/songwriter hopefully by my mid-20s. For now, I don't have the proper skill yet to go all in so I need something to fall back on while never giving up on my dream. I'm thinking of getting a degree in something practical to get me financially stable to pursue my passion. A lot of times I feel like I'm behind other musicians who started way younger than me and already have musical career in their early 20's, but I still remind myself that I'm still relatively young like Rico mentioned. If you don't mind me asking what degree are you gonna take? Best of luck to you my friend.

Yeah, it's actually my first time coming across Rico Blanco, it's cool that there's people looking up to him, this gets me inspired as well. May I ask what are you studying in college? I feel like 19 is actually still really young! Your thought process is exactly the same as mine, from getting a practical degree all the way to feeling I've missed the boat. For reference, I'm in my mid-20s(had to give up 2 years due to mandatory military conscription) and am actually still pursuing my final year in university(studying Data Science and Biz Analytics). After which hopefully I'll have more time to channel into music production since that's my passion.

Hi, just wanna share my suggestion na pwedeng content nyo na unique, since matagal na ko nag hahanap ng gantong content, kaso wala tlaga kahit saan. Suggest ko sana yung about naman sa mga musicians na may super duper highly potential na original songs na hindi alam kung anong step ang gagawin nila how to get in sa music industry kasi walang koneksyon or hindi kaya walang sapat na budget para i push yung originals nila at para ma guide din sila ano ba ang tamang pakikipag transac sa mga record labels/company or managers kasi maraming mga ganyan ang abusado, nalulugi ang mga artist sa deal na pinapasok nila kaso problema huli na nila na realized ang lahat kasi nakapag sign na sila ng contract.
