- I WANTED this guitar so badly. This is a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom. This is the exact same year that John Sykes has played his entire career. I'm fairly certain there were also original Gibson Dirty Finger pickups in this guitar because of how good it punched. I had the gain on like "10 O'Clock," and it just blistered. I'm going straight into the amp, busting out some Sykes riffs/licks. Playing through an EVH 5150 iconic and my buddy, Carlos was filming. He works at MusicGoRound in Greensboro, so go see him and the guys! Hate, I couldn't snag this one, but it was so cool to play it!
Believe it or not. This Gibson LPC had a Maple Neck just like John's. 😎

@@declanhowley4679 John Sykes without a doubt!
Sykes !!!!!!!
Love that guy!
So you can get that Sykes sound straight from the amp, without peddles?
Correct. In-fact John Sykes himself never used pedal. Just a loud amp.
hunter, what about the randal 120rh head?? no good???
Never tried it. So I can't comment. Sorry.
I had that amp for many years after the first run released. Loved that amp. The clean tone could use an eq but the gain was huge 🤘
Dope man
Thank you so much!
I feel so stupid that i can't remember the name of the song from the first riff that you played. Can anyone help? Also great playing!!
Still of the night
@ Thank you!!
Haha, thanks! Still of the Night is always a fun one.
How do you make that sound pinching bend sound
It's kind of hard to explain... But it's basically letting the flesh slightly hit the string along with the pick. Then you try to find the harmonics along the strings after the fretboard with the notes your fretting on the fretboard. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Mainly just practice the pick technique.
Killer dude! As a person who owns a '78 LPC with a Dirty Fingers in the bridge and run it through a 50w EVH El34 I approve!! 😂
Yes Sir! I have a 92' Goldtop with a Dirty Finger and it always rattles the cages! Thank you!
Rattles the cage it does! Such a full spectrum sound and one of my favorite ceramic pickups ever.
@@HunterRouth Any idea what the neck pickup is?
@@FRX67 I couldn't tell ya. Maybe a 57?
I would be unable to put that guitar down if i got my paws on it.
Yeah, I certainly didn't want to.
maple neck?
I believe so. Yes.
Is he paid by the pinch harmonic ?
I wish I was! John Sykes or Zakk Wylde might be. 😅
but John use the neck 1979
Nah, his is a 78. He had multiple Paul's. But 78 was his main. He even has a 59'.
If you don't buy it you'll regret it for the rest of your life... Get it installment or Anything steal it or something and pay them back after you're rich or something... Anything
😂😂
