@@blackmamba3060 But looking at Lamar's season this year, who had the equivalent season last year? You can't only compare the stats of an MVP one year to the MVP the other year, because who won MVP is entirely contextual to that year. Nobody last year felt any player was having a particularly great year. That was a major reason Lamar got it, and it's not the case this year.
Allen is the only qb to have 5 consecutive 40td seasons. Allen is also the only qb to have a 50+ total td season including the playoffs and not make a Superbowl and he's done it twice.
This is the thing about Lamar. His first season in the nfl 2018, he started just the last 7 games in the regular season. In 2021 and 2022, he got hurt with 4-5 games left in the season and didn’t play again. So Lamar Jackson has just 4 full seasons as the starting QB. In those 4 full seasons, he has won the one seed twice, won 3 division titles, made the playoffs all 4 seasons, won MVP so far twice but it might be 3 times, and has made 3 all pro teams. Incredible.
Dak had a great season last year. his stats were there. I think because dak didn’t play so well those last 3-4 games is where he lost it. Idk why people are forgetting that dak was one of the mvp favorites last season
He’s not saying Lamar didn’t deserve it last year, he’s saying Allen could win it this year for the same reasons Lamar won it last year. Do you get what I mean?
He doesn't want Lamar or any other QB to have more awards than his man. It's obvious with his willful ignorance or pandering to Allen/Bills fans or whatever it is he's doing
That’s why i hate that argument nobody had a season as prolific as Lamar this season last year, the two best stats guys were Dak and Purdy, and I simply ask non cowboys fans, “do you really want to live a world where 2023 Dak Prescott has an MVP?”Because they were never going to give it Josh he came in 5th and they weren’t going to give it to CMC either because Purdy was on his team
@@sprawlz6466 I’ll ask you like I ask everyone, do you really want to live in a world where 2023 Dak Prescott, Mr beat up on bad teams, has an MVP to his name? because Josh and CMC were not winning. When you remember that season, do you really think Dak Prescott was the most valuable QB on the field?. Because the beauty of this season is I can unbiasedly say Lamar and Josh look like supermen on tape, beat good teams, and have good stats when you factor in rushing so whoever wins deserves it, I can’t say anybody except maybe CMC, who the voters didn’t want to give it to, looked as impactful as Lamar Jackson is on a game to game basis.
@@sprawlz6466Idk even care if he didn't win MVP last year but he played everyone and was the best player on the field with the #1 seed so I can see why he got it
Why does Lamar have a Derrick Henry problem? So Mahomes had a tyreek/Kelce problem? Did Brady have a Moss problem? Did Matt Ryan have a Julio problem? It’s just crazy to me that Lamar has won MVP’s without Derrick Henry, but now we acting like Derrick Henry is why Lamar is playing so great. Look at the contract Henry is on. Teams were saying last year he was washed… so I guess we’re ignoring that narrative to now push this new narrative to diminish Lamars play
Lamar is 2-5 when Henry doesn't have 90 yards and 10-0 when he does. That says something. Also, why does everyone believe, including Lamar fans, that they lost to the Chiefs last year because they put the ball too much in LAMAR'S HANDS? Truth is, if the run game is supporting Lamar, he is unstoppable, point blank. But if you take that away from him, it is a much different story, as the record just this year indicates. Allen on the other hand was 9-3 when Cook didn't have 90 yards. That explains where they are coming from.
You literally named WR the reason it’s a problem cause sorry I’m gonna talk down to you since you might not know how football works but if you have a great RB that takes the defense away from the passing making it easier
@josephcorbridge5421 holy cherry picked stat the reason for this is that a team that is losing will pass more, so ofc if they were losing through the first half then they wouldn't run.
Because we associate receiver dominance to the QB more then we do RB. When was the last time a WR or TE was getting actual MVP consideration? Cooper Kupp had the greatest WR season ever and got 1 MVP vote. That’s how it’s always been. While in 2016 Zeke got 6 votes to Dak’s 1.
Nick’s point on the NIL is exactly my point I make every time I talk about it and why I love it. Gives those a chance to make money who may not make it to the next level.
That’s a small part of it, NIL also allows 4th stringers to ask for 1sts string $ without earning it even though you already payed the guy out of high school. This show needs to stay away from CFB talk as much as possible
@@TheBlackestKnight21nobody’s saying it’s a perfect system there still needs to be regulation. Don’t blame the kids for asking for money that you feel like they don’t deserve
Why does Nick keep ignoring the fact Lamar was the 1st seed last year? If Allen had the same stats and was no.1 seed over Kansas, he’d win MVP. 2nd and 3rd seed are the same thing. Home game, no bye
Why is playoff performance relevant when discussing MVP when it's a regular season award? Unless it carries into the playoffs, there is no reason for it to go to Josh Allen over Lamar or even Saquon except the media just likes to glaze him lmao.
Im a life long titans fan, derrick henry didn't have us winning like that, lamar is still the driving force of the team. He deserves mvp Nick just can not stomach having lamar get 3 mvps while mahomes doesnt. Hurts his best qb of the era argument.
Nick is too smart to keep ignoring the Ravens were the one seed with the best record in the league and absolutely smashed the top teams week after week. that's why lamar won, best player on the best team in a down year. josh allen and the bills are the 2 seed tied for the 4th or 5th best record in the league. these things are not similar
Honest question: what do you mean? Like what's your definition of "smart" in this context? Because frankly I think the opposite and that he's really crazy and foolish
i really wish someone would correct him on this. because he consistently makes this point and it’s just wrong. also Josh Allen wasn’t even the runner up or third for MVP last year so i genuinely don’t understand why bills fans and nick act as if josh got an MVP stole from him. if they didn’t give it to lamar it STILL wouldn’t have been josh allen
It ain’t about being smart he just purposely ignores it since it doesn’t fit his narrative. It’s a whole different story being #1 in the whole NFL ravens last year vs being 2nd in AFC and having 5th best league record bills this year.
@@edney888 some ppl still think Nick is intelligent despite all evidence to the contrary. Nick is a glorified Dusty. Nick shouldnt think, analyze or make decisions. He should just run numbers for other ppl. His mouth got him a career on tv.
Mahomes in the #1 seed and was 15-1 as a starter, and nobody thinks he has a chance at MVP. It might be a consideration, but it's not a major factor when comparing Allen and Lamar.
Why is Nick acting like the story was Lamar carrying the Ravens last year. He won because he had a NFL record 10 wins against playoff teams. Had the number 1 seed and was 1st in passing TD, passing yards, and passer rating against those playoff teams.
Can you blame em tho? Lamar nice in the regular season but in the playoffs completely different player.. 2-4 in the playoffs.. numbers don’t lie until he balls and wins in the playoffs they will continue to talk about him like this
@@MoneyTeam_801Meh, a lot of it is kinda flukey. First game was in his rookie season. One game was against Buffalo with insane winds that both Allen and Lamar struggled in. He was good against the Texans last year, and the game with KC was hard fought, Mahomes wasn’t that much better. Ravens fans don’t think he has a big game issue. And he has a tremendous record in Monday night and nighttime games in general. I stole and saved this comment because y'all constantly throw numbers out without context 😂
I'm not sure I understand the stats you are bringing up. Lamar was 14th in passing yards and 12th in passing TDs in 2023. Are you saying Lamar had the most passing yards and TDs during the regular season against teams the made the playoffs? If so, isn't that stat heavily biased towards teams that simply have the most games against playoff teams?
The argument of last year could make mahomes the MVP, not josh, yet you are ignoring the fact noboy had a season nearly as good as lamar is having. Stats aren't everything, sure, but when you put the tape to the stats Lamar's having, is even more impressive
Exactly, no one had Lamar like numbers last year or better or Lamar wouldn't have been the 1st QB EVER to do what he did this season!!! Stop diluting his greatness, IT SHOULD BE CELEBRATED!!! What are we doing.? It's literal greatness we're witnessing for a QB so called experts claimed couldn't throw, should switch positions and wouldn't last in this league!!!!
5,000 Yards, 45 TD’s, & 4 INT’s The fact that the mvp is even a discussion is hilarious… If Josh & Lamar swapped MVP cases right now, Josh would win unanimously Josh having less weapons is balanced out by Lamar playing a way harder schedule… Sympathy for Josh is literally the only reason this mvp thing is even a debate
3X First team All Pro Potentially 3X MVP All Lamar needs is one superbowl and he will burry his biggest haters such as Nick Wright 🦜 , Steph A, Acho Diddy etc.
17:58 Yeah, Lamar's stats weren't as spectacular last year and he led Baltimore against the 2nd hardest SOS and beat almost every playoff team he faced by 10+ points. Josh Allen and the Bills have the 27th ranked SOS this season (per ESPN). The Ravens this year have the 7th hardest SOS, and Lamar has put up the best stats in the NFL. The MVP shouldn't be close, but I know a determining factor for Nick and a number of analysts is the fact that Buffalo beat KC this year.
It's clearly not that straight forward. You can argue LJ has better playmakers and another MVP candidate in Derrick Henry. Josh Allen has Cook who's good but doesn't nearly get the same love as Henry.
I like Allen but LJ8 beat more playoff teams than Allen did, record against those playoff teams is 7-3 for LJ8 and the Ravens this season! Also same thing last season Ravens played more playoff teams and destroyed them. Allen only beat Lions and Chiefs this season, I mean that’s great but those are only 2 playoff teams!
This is Henry’s best season in 4 years. Seems like he needed Lamar. Every RB that played with Lamar check the YPC when they played with Lamar vs without
To not complete a single pass to a WR is ironically pretty impressive on PSU. But credit to ND for staying resilient after falling down 10-0 early and also having an INT wiped out by a PI penalty. That loss to NIU really rallied this team together
A college football opening segment?? This isn’t the First Things First that we see every day. I love it though! It’s nice to see segments that aren’t NFL/NBA the whole time. I know those gets the highest ratings but don’t mind other sport leagues getting a segment here or there 😎
Do you remember when Shannon and Skip got in a fight ,and Skip said “fine you come in early and pick the segments” . The next day they did college football and a few others things for the first time ever and it was so refreshing
Gonzo cannot come a sentence without trying to find something negative about Lamar even when the numbers and people support mvp, dude definitely got a different type of hate for him
The difference between last year Josh Allen and this year Lamar is. Lamar didn’t throw for 18 INT. He was the #1 seed in all of NFL. He destroyed all playoffs team such as the Lions, SF, Miami, Texans to the point where he sat over 12Q etc while Josh Allen was 2-3 vs playoffs team. Weak narrative
@@hahahahahaha6433 Josh Allen had 28 TD and 18 INT and didn’t clinch the playoff untill the last game in weak division 😂. Clearly yall the blind one cuz the fans, players and media see it diffent way
They're changing the narrative. Hyper focusing on the similarities instead of looking at the full picture. Purdy lost to Lamar 2 weeks before they voted, Dak played we'll against 2 playoff teams the whole season, it was anyone's race and Lamar had the better overall season when looking at competition, talent, and production. Josh has a competitor who played one of the best seasons ever and beat him so bad he sat out in the 4th quarter. Josh can win it, it doesn't really matter but if Lamar wins, it's because circumstances are different and he was just better.
@@hahahahahaha6433 what hypocrisy, when Josh didn't secure the 1 seed or best record in the league & has worse stats across the board. The OP literally explained all this & you still can't follow the logic😂 What does that say about you? How is it then not hypocritical when Josh fans are tryna to use the same arguments they dismissed & discredited last yr simply bc they wanted their guy to win?
Lamar's MVP odds went from +400 this morning and now are at -235. Talk about a shift. And now we got the Bills fans being racist on social media. It never ends.
But Lamar does not have a seven-time one-thousand-yard receiver. This is Zay Flowers's first time getting one thousand yards. And cook led the NFL in touchdowns.
So Lamar just wins in every narrative there is. He wins last yr with the josh way despite having a better roster than the current bills and wins now with Henry like the purdy stats last yr with CMC. Like nick said, josh is the rightful MVP like what "valuable" means
Fact is fans don’t vote. It’s not us you mad at. The rest of the sports world said Lamar better and had a better season. His on peers voted for him. I think they know better than Bills mafia.
Last year he was 9-3 against teams with winning records blowing out most of them - this year he’s 8-3 against teams with winning records while Josh is 2-3. The ravens are +112 point differential against playoff teams while the bills are -15. If you give credit for Josh not having as good of a supporting cast (which the gulf isn’t that big considering how bad the ravens defense and kicking game was the first 11 weeks) then you have to give Lamar credit fir having a far harder schedule and smoking them. Couple that with a historic season statistically: first 4,000 passing / 900 rushing season and the 4th highest passer rating in history it’s impossible to give it to Allen.
And Allen's 2 wins are agaisnt two 14 win teams which has never been done in history.. Nick is absolutely right here, when talking about how the voters voted last season. They chose team wins and seeding over numbers.
@@pipinghotarbys3079 Stop reaching: Ravens did not just beat Bills this year; they walloped them. Given Bills soft 'strength of victory' and 'strength of schedule', the Bills SHOULD HAVE enough energy in reserve to barely beat your "two 14 win teams". I'm saying that Ravens beat, beat badly, the team that beat your "two 14-wins team"!

@ pats numbers looks horrible especially Early in the year nd he lost to another mvp candidate. Plus if you watched the game they won a lot cuz of other factors not cuz him balling out
@ no and neither did Lamar, the RAVENS did. Didn’t know Lamar was a 1 man army and the MVP award was contingent upon how good the other teams you play are
@@TheBlackestKnight21 Lamar played great in those games. Especially the 5 td perfect game he had against the Dolphins that got them the 1 seed and pretty much sealed up the MVP.
I don't understand how Josh Allen could win MVP when Jackson beat Allen in passing yards, passing touchdowns, interceptions, rushing yards, and QBR. The only personal stat where Allen had the upper hand was rushing touchdowns. Usually, having a good running back lowers your passing yards. Yet Jackson still outperformed Allen. (Jackson also had a better year in 2023 as a quarterback than Allen. To say Jackson was behind Allen in 2023 and won the MVP is false). Yet Allen seems to be favored because he has not won the award before, and Jackson has. I hope that is not the reason a historic performance is overlooked. Peyton Manning won the MVP five times. His performance on the field won him the award, and Jackson's performance has been worthy of winning the MVP this year. He has earned this award on the field. Allen will win at some point because he, too, is performing at an MVP level. He just came up short this year.
im so glad nick didn’t really talk about the mvp and more so about lamar hitting first team all pro 3x. that’s an insane accomplishment. i think he gets 2ish more before his career is over and maybe 1 more MVP. Lamar is going to end up as a top 8 QB when it’s all said and done.
Bro Nick hush. •LAST SEASON JOSH HAD 20 TURNOVERS HE TOOK HIMSELF OUT THE RACE • DAK AINT WIN AGAINST ANY GOOD TEAMS •Brock Ain’t win it cause He played awful against ravens •Eye Test wise Lamar was the best qb all season last year. (ALSO THIS SEASON) It’s simple •LAST SEASON LAMAR AND RAVENS BEAT EVERY GOOD TEAM •The only Reason Nick Thinks Josh should win it it’s because they beat the chiefs. I’m sick of this dude. •ALSO LITERALLY NO ONE RAN AWAY WITH IT LAST SEASON.
And now Lamar is about to win his 3rd MVP... Bills - 2 x Pro Bowlers & 1 x 2nd Team All Pro Ravens - 9 x Pro Bowlers & 4 x 1st Team All Pros, 2 x 2nd Team All Pros Meanwhile, the Bills went 13-4, set a franchise record for points scored, all with Allen sitting out 11 quarters (nearly 3 games). Where do they think that production comes from if not from Allen?
They change the criteria for Lamar every year: Allen vs. Lamar 2024 - Bills: 6th Ranked O Line, 26th Ranked WR Core in Separation, Worse TEs than Ravens, Worse RBs than Ravens - Ravens: 2nd Ranked O Line, 1st Ranked WR Core in Separation, Better TEs than Bills, Better RBs than Bills - Josh Allen: 1 Pro Bowler on His Team - Lamar: 8 Pro Bowlers on His Team - Josh Allen: 80% of Team’s Yards Per Drive - Lamar: 68% of Team’s Yards Per Drive - Josh Allen and 2024 Bills: 2nd Most Points Per Play of All Time and 1 of 5 Teams all time to average at least 3 points per drive - Lamar and stacked 2024 Ravens: they do not average as many points per play nor points per drive as the Bills - Josh Allen: 22 negative plays (least amount EVER in a season), 1 less turnover and 9 less sacks taken than Lamar despite having worse o line and WRs than Lamar - Lamar: 32 negative plays, 1 more turnover and 9 more sacks taken than Allen despite having better o line and WRs than Allen - Allen: first ever QB to have: 40+ TD, less than 10 turnovers, and less than 15 sacks taken in a season - Lamar: has more yards and TD than Allen because he’s played 11 more quarters; Allen still has 4K+ yards, 40+ TD, and less turnovers than Lamar - Allen: Beat both #1 seeds with the team on his back - Lamar: lost to #1 Seeded chiefs and 2 trash teams the Raiders and Browns - Allen: 13 Wins - 3 Losses - Lamar: 12 Wins - 5 Losses - Allen: #1 in Total EPA - Lamar: #2 in Total EPA
Ravens O-line looks better than it is bc blocking for Lamar is easy. Shakir is #2 in the league in WR separation per NFL nextgen stats, what source are you citing for your separation numbers? EPA does not effectively grade QB rushing. Lamar's passing EPA is significantly higher than Allen's, but Lamar's rushing EPA is 16th for QBs in the league. If you think Lamar isn't a top 15 rushing QB in the league rn, idk what to tell you ig
@@gtr0kare you suggesting that James Cook is better than Derrick Henry? Or that Khalil Shakir is better than Zay Flowers? I sure hope not. And yeah Josh is 2-3 against playoff teams. Those 2 wins came against the 1 seed in both conferences. And one of those losses he scored 6 TDs to 0 TOs and put up 40+ points. Meanwhile Lamar lost to two teams that finished the year with 13/14 losses. I could just as easily say the MVP shouldn’t be losing to the worst teams in the league I also find it fascinating that you blindly trust the EPA numbers for passing (when it favors Lamar) but are suddenly suspicious of EPA for rushing (when it doesn’t)
The Cheifs weren't the #1 seed in week 1 of the season. Stop it, every team isn't the same the first few weeks or at full strength or potential. About separation, why do you think that is.? It's because of Lamar, the secondary is reacting to the mesh point/backfield to make sure Lamar is actually dropping back to pass which gives the receivers a slight head start. And 68% of the team yards per drive is massive when you consider having a Derrick Henry, use context. And those 3pts per drive is due to what..? The Bills started the MOST DRIVES in their opponent territory this season than any other team, which is a credit to their defense and special teams!!! STARTED drives in their opponent territory, THEY SHOULD SCORE AT LEAST 3 PTS A DRIVE when that's the case!!! Meanwhile Lamar has the most 90+ yard drives this season!!! Lol yeah so who's doing more..?? AGAIN CONTEXT!!! And yeah you wanna add up totals but Lamar has more pass TDs vs Ints, on a historic level!! And QB fumbles when the ball is hit out of his hand as he's loading up to pass is HARDLY his fault so that's a cheap stat too. And Lamar has over 5K yard, Allen doesn't. And you're lying and being disingenuous about the quarters Lamar sat out, you didn't even count the quarters Lamar sat out so he didn't sit out 11 more. And I hope you're not counting the 4th he sat out when he play Lamar and got destroyed, or the 1st quarter of the last game where he "started" and handed the ball off. If he want the stat for a start then you can't say he didn't play or sat out!! The point is Lamar is more efficient that's why he has more TDs not because he played in slightly more quarters than Allen.
Lamar has the most yards per pass attempt this year 8n the NFL. He has the most rushing yards per pass attempt in the NFL. He has the 4th highest passer rating in NFL HISTORY. Lamar broke the all-time rushing record. LAMAR is the 1st NFL player to rush for over 4100 yards and rush for over 900 yards. Lamar and the Ravens played a much harder schedule with several more Pro Bowl teams. Head to head, the Raven blew out the Bills. Allen had zero touchdowns a little over 150 yards. Against a Ravens defense that was nearly l ast in the league. At this point, after the NFL players and AP voted Lamar the best, voting ALLEN MVP WOULD DEFINITELY BE A DEI PICK.
I love this show so much. Please do MORE COLLEGE FOOTBALL! it was a great segment and I think a lot of fans would enjoy it. Love you guys, and missing Brou!
It's not hypocritical. Josh isn't having the same season Lamar had last year. Not by quality of opponent, not by eye test, not by dominance. Lamar division had 2 playoff teams and the Bengals last year. He crushed playoff teams. He sat out 4th quarters. These are not the same season and only people using stats to make a false equivalent to make it make sense for Allen to get it. He didn't have a case last year and this year, Lamar was just better again.
This is crazy revisionism. Lamar ended the year last year on a tear but for the first 10 weeks of the season he was absolutely mid and that team's calling card was 100% their defense.
@@blackmamba3060 they don't care..these guys credit anything happening on the team to Lamar. Defense? Lamar. Special teams? Lamar. Henry having a year he's had a few times already before? Lamar. @ How can you say that. I would love to hear you explain because I see no lies in the original comment. You making a blanket statement with no explanation
It just proves he's MVP of the BILLS. League MVP is reserved for overall best player in the LEAGUE. Lamar is putting up historic video games numbers & still ppl try to find a way to dismiss it instead of accepting & moving tf on.
People keep asking for consistency with the award voting but people need to understand that will never happen simply because no year will ever be the same it’s honestly that simple
15:53 Lamar just needs a real head coach who won’t lost the big games. Mahomes is blessed to have a smart head coach like Andy Reid. Harbs gets too shaky during the playoffs they literally called 6 run plays against the chiefs. The week before they called Almost 30. Lamar isn’t the problem, his coaches don’t stay the course. That’s why I said Andy Reid is as great as Bill. He doesn’t make dumb calls in the playoffs.
Your argument can't be "Our coach trusted Lamar with the ball too much in the playoffs last year. So our coach sucks". He won a superbowl with Flacco. He is a fine coach. If Lamar didn't throw to double coverage last year in AFCG, they would've won. He just could not complete any important passes.
People also forget that Mahomes not only has the best offensive coordinator as HC in NFL history in Andy Reid, but also Steve Spagnuolo who is a top-5 all-time defensive coordinator.
That last int. was just a great play!! 9 out of 10 times the D.B. drops that 🏈 in that situation! Sometimes there's nobody to blame... just players making plays!!!🤔🤔🤔
The Peyton had a New England problem thing is a bit oversold. He ended his career 3-2 vs them in the playoffs. Rivers beat him in the playoffs as many times as Brady did.
I liked the shout-out for Todd Ressing by Nick. He was an undersized QB out of Texas, but a prolific player in high school. And had an unbelievable career at Kansas. RCJH!
Dak couldn’t beat a winning team last year other than Philly Purdy got destroyed against Lamar on primetime Christmas day. On top of that he threw 4 interceptions. Lamar carried his team to 13 wins, #1 overall seed, and was great in December. That’s why he won MVP Nicky… This year the best player on the best team is Mahomes but he didn’t have a great season. Lamar won his division and was historically great with historically great numbers to back it up. Lamar Jackson is the MV3
Last years MVP and this years are not the same stop saying that. Allen would've won it if he didn't throw 18 interceptions. Nobody else had a break out year and Lamar had the best record, with the best wins, and the best MVP plays. Huntly also started a game and played in 5 others meaning Lamar got to sit. In total game time I bet he got to sit 2 1/3 games, don't quote me on that. This year both are playing insane ball, Lamar is just playing a bit better and it will probably be a split vote because voter fatigue. But this is nothing like last year.
@@johnnyboi77 Its not as clear as you think. Overall yards Dak had about 260 more, he did have 9 more TD's and 2 more picks. Again Lamar did get to sit ALOT because they were blowing people out of the water. Dak had a slightly better year, and when its close in stats I think you have to go to record, and when record is close you have to go to film, and when you get to film you see why. All that said Lamar and Allen's stats this year destroy anyone from last.
THANK YOU MANGINI. Nick goes out of his way to slight Lamar on his regular season performance while making Peyton his comp for the playoffs. He does so without pushback every show. All the while telling you how generational and otherworldly Patrick is. Mangini, accurately, as a point of discussion said, Peyton WAS great…but he still had to face US - meaning the Patriots and more importantly, BRADY, every year. That is an important caveat to interject. Lamar can be MVP and All Pro but still have a monster of a coaching staff to thwart in Andy Reid AND the beast of a player in Mahomes. It should not tarnish Lamar’s accomplishments because he is playing in an era, contemporaneously, with a man going for a THREEPEAT in Super Bowl wins. Nick just can not help but stick it in Lamar no matter what the topic is.
Burrow not getting second team all pro is insane to me lol, and the stupid refrain of “but chase and Higgins” is just patently silly. The situation a QB Is in isn’t tied only to pass catchers. Josh has the better o-line (2nd in the league vs burrows 28th), the better HC, and the better RB. Now the stat comparison Joe: 70.6 completion rate on 652 pass attempts, 4918 yards, 289.3yrds/game, 43:9 TD-INT ratio, 108.5 rating. Josh: 63.6 completion rate on 483 attempts, 3731 yards passing, 219yrds/game, 28-6TD-Int ratio, 101.4 rating. All pros are also usually best players as well, record should be irrelevant for this. Brock bowers made it first team, and the raiders are terrible.
2nd Team All Pro is usually the MVP Runner Up, they’re not giving it to Burrow when he had no realistic shot at winning MVP. Burrow has a better chance at OPOY where stats alone thrive more
16:50 coach says Peyton had a New England problem and “couldn’t get past us”… Peyton was 3-2 in the postseason against the pats during his career. Ironically despite his mediocre postseasons the pats were one team he absolutely DID get past
Nick's inability to understand that Lamar won last yr bc he secured the 1 seed & the best record in the league while not having a 1000 yd rusher or receiver just further proves his bias against Lamar. Lamar was OVERALL: Top 10 in stats Consistent throughout the season w NO NOTABLE BAD GAMES (Purdy/Dak both folded vs elite teams) Lamar's offense was putting up historic numbers while blowing elite teams out. (They beat every elite team on their schedule) Couple that w fact he was doing "more w less" & managed to achieve the BEST RECORD in the league is what won him the award. I love how people act like Ravens ain't lost to the Raiders and Browns and then wanna talk about how Allen had a bad game against the Patriots. A game they won
Lamar didn’t go 9-30 in those games sir. The raiders lost was because of the kicker and 28th ranked defense at the time. And the lost to the browns was because of the defense. Eddie is no longer apart of the team because of that loss. He gave up a wide open TD. Lamar didn’t bad. Now if he played bad you would have a point. As a matter of fact we lost 5 games by a total of 22 points and our kicker missed 22 points of FGs. Also the ravens are top 5 in penalties. Watch the games so you can understand context
@E-Money1130 nice way to paint excuses for the Ravens but none for the Bills. You people are so hypocritical. That same defense intercepted Goff 5 times. Then came all the injuries to the Texans and Ravens got sloppy seconds. Not to mention Derrick Henry eats the Texans alive every time he plays them. "Oh the kicker lost the game." Why was it even that close to begin with? What about the Browns? Why was it even that close? Quit giving Lamar excuses when he Derrick Henry behind him and Zay who is a pro bowler. Ravens should be a 15 win team.
Lamar has 4.2k yards, 4 INTS… 45 total TDs and almost 1k rushing yards. I’m not even a Lamar guy, but saying Purdy had a comparable year last year is objectively wrong.
Lamars total numbers were actually better than purdy's were lol. But the narrative that it wasnt is stronger than reality. Dak's numbers were in a different tier
It’s obvious Nicks takes on Lamar are solely fueled by him receiving awards and recognition he would have given to Mahomes. Nick hates that Mahomes doesn’t get those MVP or all NFL first team awards. Calling him the greatest QB of all time while having him lose out to Lamar and others for MVP or all NFL first team awards, doesn’t sit well with him for his future resume. Despite all the championships
Lamar is also voted #1 by the players in the All Pro last year and this year. Clearly the players, fans and others don’t fall for false and sympathy narratives like the NBA did with Joel Embid. Well deserved. Wish Brou was here to stick it to Nick 😂
Stick what nick has acknowledged what Lamar always does in the regular season. Same way we all know he’s James harden in the post. Brou wouldnt have been able to stick anything to him
Last year the Ravens won an NFL 10 games against teams with winning records, 5 of which lead their respective divisions with they faced the Ravens. Josh is 3-3 vs teams with winning records with weaker stats, playing in a weak division
@chopin1975-tq3gx Since 2019 AFC East other 3 teams wins: 98 AFC North other 3 teams wins: 134 Lets not forget part of brady's long success was his division being so bad. Same advantage for the bills.
Seems like they are changing the criteria every year to benefit Lamar. More 1st team all pros than Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow combined. Has the same amount as Brady. It’s absurd.
Lamar just had one of the best QB seasons💀If they gave it to Josh Allen it would lose credibility like the NBA MVP lost credibility when Embid won it over Jokic even tho Jokic killed him in majority of the stats
But y’all complain when people bring up his lack of playoff success 😂 You can’t only want to talk about the good but when people bring up the objectively bad postseason success you want to bring up Josh and Joe Burrow 😂
nick's point about the college playoff is a good one. none of the remaining teams would have been in the playoff last year. that makes the choice to include 12 a HUGE success.
Lamar fans want him held to the same standards as players like Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold 😂 Dude has 2 MVPs, maybe a third one coming his way, but his fans get mad when you hold him to high standards 😂 The stats don’t lie. His playoff success has been below average for someone with his career accolades. We’ll find out more tomorrow.
No raven or Lamar fan agree wit that. We acknowledge his lack of playoff performance it’s just coming to a new season yall constantly try to put Josh Allen and Joe Burrow over him but then don’t hold them 2 to the same expectations
@@Messigoat1033No you don’t you guys consistently make excuses for him for consistently being bad in the playoffs. Throws an interception in triple coverage and you point the finger at everyone but Lamar.
Those guys were in the same draft (1st & 3rd) respectively. Neither have had 1/2 the career Lamar. He just made a AFC Championship game by throwing 3 TDs. Championship game OC calls 6 running plays for RB.
It doesn’t help that he has to eventually run into Mahomes, Burrow, and Allen. Same thing happened to a ton of great QBs in the Brady/Manning era - they simply hit the wall of those two and couldn’t get out of the AFC
17:42 Nick should be ashamed of himself… again. Comparing Lamar’s stats from last season to Allen’s stats this season is asinine. Lamar led his team to the best record in the league, had phenomenal games against playoff teams and played in a division where every single team finished above .500 for the 1st time since 1935. Allen got humiliated against Lamar this season, has a losing record against playoff teams(2-3) and plays in a division where his team was the only one to finish above .500. It’s beyond ridiculous to make that comparison. Lamar is hands down the MVP this season
Yall can cry. But Lamar Jackson won in the way tougher division, played way harder competition and had better numbers. Dont mention Dereick Henry if you didnt mention Randy Moss with Brady, Tyreke & Kelce with Mahomes or Reggie Wayne & Marvin Harrison with Peyton

They don’t use context when it doesn’t fit their narrative. It’s pretty clear now that voters really do watch the film. Last season Lamar carried his team on offense literally (leading passer and rusher), led his team to the best record in the league 2 by a 2 win gap, beat the best teams and had one of the hardest schedules. Theres a reason he got 49 of 50 votes, it wasn’t even close. And his stats looked iffy because he missed the last game of the season and didn’t play in multiple 4qtrs
Penn State was nothing before he got there. He never had a real QB. And in college, PSU isn't ahead of OSU, Bama, Georgia or Texas in term attraction You probably don't watch Drew Allar enough in the last 3 years to comment about Penn State
As a Bills fan, I can't believe I'm saying this: there's a real case for Lamar winning MVP but I believe Josh will win it purely based on the Bills lack of Pro Bowlers and voter fatigue on Jackson. Again, MVP is not a purely stats award, it's usually an insane equation of wins/seed rank, QB stats, roster strength versus wins, and narrative (which includes previous MVP's playoff records). Essentially, Jackson is similar to LeBron 2010-11 (great team, great record, too many MVP's without winning in the playoffs). And I say that as someone who LOVED D Rose. Ravens fans have to pick which is more important: Having Derrick Henry, and Lamar missing out on a 3rd MVP and potentially going to the Super Bowl, or letting Josh have a mostly narratively driven award.
As a notre dame fan, Brian Kelly was the same as the Penn state coach. He built the program up and got us into the playoffs, but could never deliver a win against a top tier team

@@blackmamba3060good thing it’s 2025
@@blackmamba3060 But looking at Lamar's season this year, who had the equivalent season last year? You can't only compare the stats of an MVP one year to the MVP the other year, because who won MVP is entirely contextual to that year. Nobody last year felt any player was having a particularly great year. That was a major reason Lamar got it, and it's not the case this year.
Allens the only one in NFL history to have 5 straight seasons of 40 plus TDs scored.
Incredible.
Caping for Dak to have an mvp just to discredit Lamar is wild. No way he thought Dak should win. CMC im with but since it was a qb gotten Lamar
Dak had a great season last year. his stats were there. I think because dak didn’t play so well those last 3-4 games is where he lost it. Idk why people are forgetting that dak was one of the mvp favorites last season

Teams were saying last year he was washed… so I guess we’re ignoring that narrative to now push this new narrative to diminish Lamars play
thank you, they be hatin'...

They're so hurt rn 😭😭😭
But Lamar does not have a seven-time one-thousand-yard receiver. This is Zay Flowers's first time getting one thousand yards. And cook led the NFL in touchdowns.
So Lamar just wins in every narrative there is. He wins last yr with the josh way despite having a better roster than the current bills and wins now with Henry like the purdy stats last yr with CMC. Like nick said, josh is the rightful MVP like what "valuable" means
His team has the most amount of pro bowlers. You can’t gaslight everyone into thinking that the ravens are a one man show.

- Ravens: 2nd Ranked O Line, 1st Ranked WR Core in Separation, Better TEs than Bills, Better RBs than Bills
- Josh Allen: 1 Pro Bowler on His Team
- Lamar: 8 Pro Bowlers on His Team
- Josh Allen: 80% of Team’s Yards Per Drive
- Lamar: 68% of Team’s Yards Per Drive
- Josh Allen and 2024 Bills: 2nd Most Points Per Play of All Time and 1 of 5 Teams all time to average at least 3 points per drive
- Lamar and stacked 2024 Ravens: they do not average as many points per play nor points per drive as the Bills
- Josh Allen: 22 negative plays (least amount EVER in a season), 1 less turnover and 9 less sacks taken than Lamar despite having worse o line and WRs than Lamar
- Lamar: 32 negative plays, 1 more turnover and 9 more sacks taken than Allen despite having better o line and WRs than Allen
- Allen: first ever QB to have: 40+ TD, less than 10 turnovers, and less than 15 sacks taken in a season
- Lamar: has more yards and TD than Allen because he’s played 11 more quarters; Allen still has 4K+ yards, 40+ TD, and less turnovers than Lamar
- Allen: Beat both #1 seeds with the team on his back
- Lamar: lost to #1 Seeded chiefs and 2 trash teams the Raiders and Browns
- Allen: 13 Wins - 3 Losses
- Lamar: 12 Wins - 5 Losses
- Allen: #1 in Total EPA
- Lamar: #2 in Total EPA
Ravens O-line looks better than it is bc blocking for Lamar is easy. Shakir is #2 in the league in WR separation per NFL nextgen stats, what source are you citing for your separation numbers? EPA does not effectively grade QB rushing. Lamar's passing EPA is significantly higher than Allen's, but Lamar's rushing EPA is 16th for QBs in the league. If you think Lamar isn't a top 15 rushing QB in the league rn, idk what to tell you ig
@@JeffRandyIIIlook at shakir's numbers, or Cook's TDs. Allen has plenty to work with. Allen also is 2-3 vs playoff teams man. That can't be your MVP
I could just as easily say the MVP shouldn’t be losing to the worst teams in the league
I also find it fascinating that you blindly trust the EPA numbers for passing (when it favors Lamar) but are suddenly suspicious of EPA for rushing (when it doesn’t)
They know that. That’s what they angry 😤 it’s impossible to fight against the truth.
Lamar. These guys don't want to credit anybody for the ravens success, and that's why I'm going to laugh when he shrinks again.
All you're saying is you're okay with double standards as long as it's for Lamar. You're just not smart enough to realize it.
@ How can you say that. I would love to hear you explain because I see no lies in the original comment. You making a blanket statement with no explanation
BROU IS ALL FIRST THINGS FIRST - ACTUALLY MVP/CO-MVP WITH WILDES
First Team All Pro should obviously mean Lamar is MVP (assuming it’s not going to a different position, which it’s not)
17:20 Wildes is the 🐐 For lack of a better term...iykyk
16:11 Nick letting his nuts hang without Brou on the show I see 😂
"Black Guy, White Guy" in a room full of only white dudes 😂
Love the random Todd Reesing shoutout. Guy was ELECTRIC back in the day
If the Bills are #2 seed in the AFC and only have 1 All Pro and that one all pro is Josh Allen. Pretty clear he’s the most valuable.
Yup discount all the numbers and Lamar’s historic year..just the bills seed and the all pro is all that matters now 😂😂😂 yall are embarrassing
Most valuable to the Bills sure 😂
Nah, just beat non playoff teams, and got smashed by the MV3 and Texans
If you want to hold Allen to the same standards of Lamar last season, he still doesn't meet THOSE standards.
It just proves he's MVP of the BILLS. League MVP is reserved for overall best player in the LEAGUE.
Lamar is putting up historic video games numbers & still ppl try to find a way to dismiss it instead of accepting & moving tf on.
College football is no longer an amateur sport. The media needs to acknowledge this.
People keep asking for consistency with the award voting but people need to understand that will never happen simply because no year will ever be the same it’s honestly that simple
The Strawman arguments are mind boggling
15:53 Lamar just needs a real head coach who won’t lost the big games. Mahomes is blessed to have a smart head coach like Andy Reid. Harbs gets too shaky during the playoffs they literally called 6 run plays against the chiefs. The week before they called Almost 30. Lamar isn’t the problem, his coaches don’t stay the course. That’s why I said Andy Reid is as great as Bill. He doesn’t make dumb calls in the playoffs.
True…mind, if we’re talking about coaches, Lamar has a far better one than Allen.
@@deschloro u trippin'...
I actually agree. Nobody is gonna say it, but Harbaugh loses big games, and if they don’t win the Super Bowl, they should consider another coach.
He was 2-6 in the playoffs at one point
Nick texting ppl cause he scared Lamar getting his 3rd 🤣🤣🤣
Nick be hating 😂
I liked the shout-out for Todd Ressing by Nick. He was an undersized QB out of Texas, but a prolific player in high school. And had an unbelievable career at Kansas. RCJH!
Dak couldn’t beat a winning team last year other than Philly
Purdy got destroyed against Lamar on primetime Christmas day. On top of that he threw 4 interceptions.
Lamar carried his team to 13 wins, #1 overall seed, and was great in December. That’s why he won MVP Nicky…
This year the best player on the best team is Mahomes but he didn’t have a great season.
Lamar won his division and was historically great with historically great numbers to back it up.
Lamar Jackson is the MV3
I appreciate the incredulity on Mangini's face and the passive resignation on Wildes' face when Nick does a Lamar take..
But this is nothing like last year.
dak clearly had better stats last year and won one less game
@@johnnyboi77 Its not as clear as you think. Overall yards Dak had about 260 more, he did have 9 more TD's and 2 more picks. Again Lamar did get to sit ALOT because they were blowing people out of the water. Dak had a slightly better year, and when its close in stats I think you have to go to record, and when record is close you have to go to film, and when you get to film you see why. All that said Lamar and Allen's stats this year destroy anyone from last.
@@Darkgizmo221 u acting like 9tds isn’t a big difference
@@johnnyboi77 9 td's is big when the play time is the same. I cant remember if Dak sat alot, I don't think he did but could be wrong.
When you guys talk about Philly, someone really needs to mention this team is literally 2 dropped balls from being 16-1.
Exactly because the entire media aside from keyshawn johnson and joy taylor think Jalen's the weak link to that team.
Lamar won the MVP on Christmas. He's a Christmas Merchant.
Christmas Lamar😈 gonna steal all the MVPs💀
lol...
😭 it is a crazy coincidence lol
Where's brou?
He was tragically killed in a cowboy accident
That Peyton had Patriots and Lamar got chiefs was a great take
Burrow not getting second team all pro is insane to me lol, and the stupid refrain of “but chase and Higgins” is just patently silly. The situation a QB Is in isn’t tied only to pass catchers. Josh has the better o-line (2nd in the league vs burrows 28th), the better HC, and the better RB.
Now the stat comparison
Joe: 70.6 completion rate on 652 pass attempts, 4918 yards, 289.3yrds/game, 43:9 TD-INT ratio, 108.5 rating.
Burrow has a better chance at OPOY where stats alone thrive more
@@marckusduverger9776if that’s your logic then Lamar wins that also or saquon
@ That’s true but OPOY feels entirely reserved for a WR or RB and that’s either Ja’marr or Saquon
16:50 coach says Peyton had a New England problem and “couldn’t get past us”… Peyton was 3-2 in the postseason against the pats during his career. Ironically despite his mediocre postseasons the pats were one team he absolutely DID get past
Lol they just make narratives and run with it.
Nick's inability to understand that Lamar won last yr bc he secured the 1 seed & the best record in the league while not having a 1000 yd rusher or receiver just further proves his bias against Lamar.
Lamar was OVERALL:
Top 10 in stats
Consistent throughout the season w NO NOTABLE BAD GAMES (Purdy/Dak both folded vs elite teams)
Lamar's offense was putting up historic numbers while blowing elite teams out. (They beat every elite team on their schedule)
Couple that w fact he was doing "more w less" & managed to achieve the BEST RECORD in the league is what won him the award. It's not hard to understand unless you don't want to.
They had a historic defense, assigning the team’s record to just the QB is ridiculous.
He had a bad game vs the Browns, Colts, Steelers, Texans
You know you just described Mahomes this year. Are you suggesting that he should win MVP?
@@mani-xc9rs Historically BAL is 2-11 w/o Lamar i believe so even w a historic defense w/o a historic offense (which you failed to mention) they wouldn't have secured the best record in the league (further context you seem incapable of grasping)
Your 2nd point is also flat out wrong. Prove it w/ stats. Stop telling us you didn't watch the games w/o tellling us.
@@rsndrs No I wouldnt bc MVP is not purely based on team record there are other factors that come into play like schedule, stats, historical significance/precedent/ H2H/etc.
@ What was historic about last year’s Ravens offense? Absolutely nothing.
They were a historic defense with just a good offense.
Nick been waiting to bring up that last year's MVP take without Brou being there to tell him how different last year was statisticly than this season.😂
I love how people act like Ravens ain't lost to the Raiders and Browns and then wanna talk about how Allen had a bad game against the Patriots. A game they won
First off the Ravens just beat the Browns. Two Lamar beat the Bills and Josh just loss to the Pats a week ago.
Lamar wasn't bad in those games🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
He had another historically vad gabe vs rhe Texans, etc. as well.
Blessing our feeds with CFB content
Lamar is also voted #1 by the players in the All Pro last year and this year. Clearly the players, fans and others don’t fall for false and sympathy narratives like the NBA did with Joel Embid. Well deserved. Wish Brou was here to stick it to Nick 😂
Stick what nick has acknowledged what Lamar always does in the regular season. Same way we all know he’s James harden in the post. Brou wouldnt have been able to stick anything to him
@@joshchavez8614good thing MVP is a regular season only award then, eh?
Lamar was first in passing TDs(T) first in total yards first in a few other stats VS .500 or better teams last year
nick is exactly correct. the discussion about the MVP is a discussion about last years result.
In whos case? Lamar stats are better so who lol
@chopin1975-tq3gxlame missed 14 games in that time span and still has wins than the bills lol
Last year the Ravens won an NFL 10 games against teams with winning records, 5 of which lead their respective divisions with they faced the Ravens. Josh is 3-3 vs teams with winning records with weaker stats, playing in a weak division
@chopin1975-tq3gxYou don’t need be that valuable to beat the 8-9 Cardinals,8-9 Dolphins 2x, 4-13 Jaguars, 5-12 Jets 2x, 3-14 Titans,8-9 Colts, 6-11 Forty Niners, 4-13 Patriots 2x.
@chopin1975-tq3gx Since 2019
AFC East other 3 teams wins: 98
AFC North other 3 teams wins: 134
Lets not forget part of brady's long success was his division being so bad. Same advantage for the bills.
Lamar is the best QB in the NFL right now. Should be MVP.
Seems like they are changing the criteria every year to benefit Lamar. More 1st team all pros than Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow combined. Has the same amount as Brady. It’s absurd.
How many playoff wins? Mahomes has 15. Who cares how big of a show you put up when it matters the least. It’s always been playoff wins for every QB.
the criteria is a dominant playoff run, where mahomes and burrow have him beat and is tied with allen
Lamar just had one of the best QB seasons💀If they gave it to Josh Allen it would lose credibility like the NBA MVP lost credibility when Embid won it over Jokic even tho Jokic killed him in majority of the stats
Keep hating on Lamar
He’s not those guys he’s a hall of famer
18:40 ignorant! Embarrassingly ignorant

How is Love more dangerous than Jalen? In throwing interceptions, yeah, I guess
Except neither purdys or daks stats were historically great. They were just better than lamars. Yall legitmately fail at context on every segment
He knows that and is just grasping at straws. Same guy who said MVP doesn’t matter in the NFL earlier this season
Purdy's efficiency stats were historic actually. Not TD/int ratio but yards/attempt stats Purdy was best all time in a lot of them.
The only thing historical about this season is his touchdown to interception ratio. Nothing else.
@@AHistory99 passer rating is top 5 all time, 4000+ passing yards + 900+ yards.

Biggest take away is James Franklin is a terrible coach. Penn state should have easily won that game. He kept putting his team in positions to lose.
Terrible is a total overreaction
Penn State was nothing before he got there. He never had a real QB. And in college, PSU isn't ahead of OSU, Bama, Georgia or Texas in term attraction
You probably don't watch Drew Allar enough in the last 3 years to comment about Penn State
those james franklin stats against the top teams is so wild i had no idea
I like how nick feels obligated to take subtle shots at Purdy every chance he gets lol
Brou is needed!!
LAMAR BEATS REALLY GOOD TEAMS. PLAYS VERY WELL AGAINST PLAYOFF TEAMS EVEN WHEN HIS DEFENSE WAS AWEFUL. HE IS THE MVP
except for when he's in the playoffs playing playoff teams!
Except when his defense holds Mahomes to 17 and he can’t remember the three guys in the endzone in red uniforms are not on his team
Hard to replace Brou but coach had me busting up watching it live lmao
