Looks good! How many of the hikers on that path came over to see you? I'm my part of the world it prolly would have been all of them, and most them would have had a Grampa who was a blacksmith, but a Real blacksmith, one who shoed horses . . .
How big is the difference forging out in the cold instead of forging inside your "warm" workshop? Noticable difference or just minor, barely to notice?
Great looking ice axe Nate and what a beautiful country you live in. You are blessed to showcase your talent in such surroundings. Regards, Dave
Yeah I am a lucky lad! Thankyou Dave!
That's a tidy wee forge :)

Yeah I got told that, read Yvon Chouinards book was really cool.
Nate, beautiful work! The only issue was the scenery was so distracting. You live in a wonderous country. Also, love the sweater!
Thankyou! Yeah I am pretty fond of it! My mum hand spun and knited it. My favourite item of clothing!

After Loch Etive, I was expecting to see you forging barefoot in the snow. You'll have to do it again 🤣

Someone who’s shods horses is a farrier.
There was so many people, even walking up the hill with the anvil! Hahah
I'de be curious to see how well it holds body weight. Don't know much about ice climbing, but I feel like that would be important in a climbing axe.
Yeah i gave it to my neighbour and I haven't seen him since... haha

Massive difference, it cools down quicker but In some cases I much prefer it!
