LOVE your gourmet recipe. Some sailing channels offer maybe lobster with a delicate glaze, a tossed salad, asparagus tips... Our Wind Hippie has a tin of peas and a squirt of lemon juice. Eaten from the tin. I'll try it. But, do look after yourself, girl.
Holly, your Dad is cool Af , super craftsman! Its really dope and inspiring to see just a “ hippie” woman as yourself living this sailor lifestyle and taking us along the journey with you!
That's fantastic you got back for a month. I am sure you wish to have stayed longer. I am a carpenter, jealous of your father's shop and am impressed by their house. I saw a few little details in there that most would miss, but other woodworkers notice and are impressed by. As a side note, people should know one thing Maine can teach most of the rest of the country and much of the world - - - they don't litter. It is stunning once it hits you -- - in Maine, they do not litter. It always looks like they just vacuumed the place. I have been there a half dozen times for 10-15 days each time and the cleanliness continues to impress as one travels around and notice the absence of litter seen everywhere else.
Holly, you're very blessed. Especially to have your family. Alway's there for you, and living your dream. And your dad is the best, and so smart and extremely talented. You definitely get your no fear, repaing your vessel, on land, or at sea on your own. You've learned so much, and we can all see that! And your adventures and sense of humor and amazing attitude, come from both your mom and dad. Gid bless you all. Alway's Stay safe.. 🙏 🤲 ⛵ ⛵
I’m one of your patreons .I really appreciate your videos and also very impressed with your family and how well rounded they are.I’m retiring soon and honestly my financial situation is tuff , but I will continue to sponsor you. I’m proud of you and your family even though we’ve never met. I truly appreciate and admire your ,.. ( espíritu aventurero ) ,.. i don’t know how to say it in English, lol. Keep up the good work and thank you again for letting us live our missed opportunities through your videos, and continue to dream.
Your family is incredible very cool I grew up in the Backwoods of Kentucky so I appreciate the Beauty and isolation put the woodworking on your family's home it's next level stuff love it
I love watching your videos! I am a nurse in DC and it's a very scary and tense time here in the city. Your video calms me and give me a sense of peace :)
What a great video, answered questions I've had. Your dad, what an amazing dad who brought up an amazing brave confident daughter. How you and your dad get along and how he teaches you is wonderful. Dad great job. Keep going g girl you are an inspiration.
I can see now how you got the nerve and experience from your parents. Such a lot to take on but you have a can do attitude and see what happens outlook. I've seen channels sailing on a budget but you take it to a new level. So jealous of your Dad's shop and what a place to work on your boat.
Thanks so much for taking us along on your adventure! You are an amazing and very able woman. I’ve flown airplanes for over 60 years. Sorry I never got exposed to sailing.
Hi Holly so glad to have seen your roots, your parents have taught you well, I love the house they built, I myself have sailed in the Seychelles area on a schooner though it was not my boat I did enjoy the 3yrs of sailing, I wish you fair winds and will continue to tack along on your dreams.
I've been sailing with André, whose first time aboard a sailboat was with you crossing the Panama Canal. I've taught him to play cribbage, which he loves.
Another superb video. It really is special to have the chance to learn more about you, your family, your thoughts, etc. A great bonus that makes all your "normal" (normal?!) content even richer. Thanks for all that you share with us, Holly. Fair winds.
So very exciting to see you back here in Maine. It looks like you are in the Round Pond area. (Boatbuilding Bristol) Beautiful! I'm at my summer cabin that my Grandparents built in 1949 on Brighams Cove, Winnegance Bay, Phippsburg just a couple of bays up west from you. Looking forward to more good stuff from you. Thanks.
Happy to hear you making headway by ''slugging'. I have done something similar while learning to manuver a slow speed stall. the instructor would have me slow the plane down until it was finally 'mushing' and we would fly around like that until he got mad and made me pull enough power out or pull the nose up until we fell off on one wing. I would immediately put the nose down gain speed, straighten the directton and recover. your slugging reminded me of my mushing. Happy sailing to you Holly you wind hippy!
Just loving seeing an authentic, competent young woman following her heart. Your no-frills, be true to myself can-do attitude is an inspiration to all!
I know what you mean about brain creating movement....I spent 21 days on 100ft crab boat...got to land and unload....went to the store for a bag of chips ...as I was standing in the line for whatever reason my whole body tilted and I fell right into the candy rack 😅
I've only been watching for about a month, I'm going to go to episode 1, , start fresh so I can see your voyage, what I've seen sofar is brilliant, stay safe,
11:35 - I loved the can of peas in lemon that you had for lunch. It was nutritious and delicious. In addition to your new fragrance line "Holly's Summer in Hell", you could offer Holly's "Canopy" (can o' pea?) which if not a vegetable dish could be a warm bottle of hard lemonade. WHAT. I love the earth-friendly oasis that is your family's home. I lived in an "earthship" in New Mexico for a summer and it was awesome. Maybe one day I will give it a more permanent realization.
As a contractor and someone who has been in the residential construction industry for 30 years now, I will bet you anything you own that they got A LOT more help than just the help of the foundation lol pfrpfrpfrpfrpf🤣🤣🤣Guaranteed! Everything you own! 🤣🤣🤣
You have a cool dad ! I'm myself a professional guitar and violin maker and I'm just getting into learning to build a boat, to hopefully go round the world one day...
You have a Norwegian flag on the Wall. So Nice. I dont know you had conection to Norway, part from Tomas om Be free. It was fun watching you together, with so different style
Hey Holly. I have a whale foot pomp with the pickup in my sump and the exit gets dumped into the exhaust. It’s great because when my bilge fills, I kick the foot pump a dozen times and no more bilge water. Now you need a place for the pump, and that may be a limitation. Good luck with whatever solution you end up with.
I was recently in Maine, in Newcastle. It’s a beautiful area, people were very nice. I purchased a 22’ catboat from the Riverside boat yard. I had it trucked down to the Cape and I will be sailing her back to Chicago in a few weeks via the Erie Canal to the Great Lakes. Looking forward to the trip and I always enjoy your posts. You’re an inspiration!
Hi Holly, I'm always happy to see you have posted a new video. It's been such a delight to see your life and how you are living it. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences with us on Y.T. Have fun back home.
Awesome Episode! I am absolutely envious of the support your family gives you, your relationship with your dad, and his amazing expertise. The tour of your family's home and the history of its creation were gems. Thank you!
Incredible wonderful parents, love the home if one has to be on land that is the way. Glad your dad can help kit you out for your work. Never knock race rules Marlon. Parent address shipping aggregation so helpful, just did the same myself.
You are a real champion. I love your gumption and get up and go. Nothing seems to dampen your energy to keep on keepin on. Good luck with the haul out. Wishing a completely repaired boat that is back in the water soon.
This was by far the best episode I have watched of your explorations. You are an amazing woman and your pops is as well. Praying all the things your heart desires you get!
Enjoy your Father. Mine passed in 2019 miss him everyday. It was very cool watch him work with you and giving you tips. Very Very cool! I built his home with him as well. He taught me so many things
Having watched quite a number of your episodes, I have from time to time wondered just what your parents must feel about their wacky wind-hippie unconventional daughter. Now having seen this episode and learning about your parents, glimpses of their amazing life story, circumnavigation, and that incredible house, it almost sounds like you're the conventional one. Hats off to all of you. Living the dream.
Welcome Home, Holly (belatedly)! I can see from the bit of ice still in the woods, you were here just a few days ago. 😁 Our local "Maine Black Fly Breeder's Association" reserved a special swarm just for you, and as they say: "We breed 'em, you feed 'em." 😂🤣
yes steve who sailed your cal 25 for the last 20 or so years has finally bought 10 acres and a small house in florida and keeps the boat in a nearby river for excursions
That was a fantastic video Holly. What a great family and a brilliant set-up your Dad's got. He should start his own channel. Very skilled, knowledgeable guy. Thank you for taking the time to bring us your life. Sail safe and catch you next episode
What a heart warming and interesting video. My husband and I just watched it together. Your parents' house is so cool! What an impressive workshop too. You're so lucky to have such a talented family. 🥰
Looking good. Good tip with the hole saw . Drill pilot hole . Drill halfway thru one side then flip the board over and finish the hole . Won’t chip out. 👍👍⛵️⛵️
I envy you....doing what you love and a wealth of sailing knowledge. Being on a boat from birth everything that us land lumber have to study comes natural to you. You have a great supportive family...and your mom and dad have away with design. They built a beautiful home with all the privacy they need and designed and decorated to there likings. Thanks for the inside scoop.
Your parents house is an exquisite work of art but the kind that you feel comfortable in. What a gift. People who like timber and wood are mostly gooduns in my experience. I am so glad that you are able to fix that leak now. I can relax!😉
Your Dad is a legend and I bet he is immensely proud of you.
Who is her dad?
@@cbthomas9577 Dave Martin and his wife Jaja, plenty on the net about them
I was hoping the guitar would come off the wall so we could get a listen. Thanks for the wonderful tour.
As an architect, I am so impressed with your parents house. You could do a whole video on that.
Apart for her foul foul mouth i hope she doesnt kiss her granny with it or be growling at the badger!!
My goodness, what an amazing life your parents have had. A real example of living life to the fullest. Very impressed.
Your dad is probably the coolest guy on the planet!
The hole saw tip was great! Thanks your dad for me!
A tip from utube AVE, to enlarge a hole say a 1 inch to 1-1/2 nest a long 1 inch and a short 1-1/2 on the same arbor. Works like a champ.
@@jamesclark3119 Another good tip, Thanks!

So cool to see the Norwegian flag hanging in your home. Thanks for all your nice videos. I am watching them all in order. Greetings from Norway.😊
Holly, your Dad is cool
Af , super craftsman! Its really dope and inspiring to see just a “ hippie” woman as yourself living this sailor lifestyle and taking us along the journey with you!
I love your parent's house. There's no help like a father's help. Mine helped me a lot over the years and I really miss him. Enjoy your visit Captain!
💕I loved this episode the best. Thank you for sharing your mum and dads lives with us💕
You and your family are truly embracing your time on this planet. It's exceptional.

Your dad is a really smart guy and so talented. Much respect. I'm sure your mom is just as clever in making a home beautiful and useful.
Wind hippie makes soooo much more sense to me now!

Thanks so much for taking us along on your adventure! You are an amazing and very able woman. I’ve flown airplanes for over 60 years. Sorry I never got exposed to sailing.
Awesome episode. Wish everyone had the benefits of loving, encouraging parents as you.
Your Dad's woodwork is amazing and the house your parents built is beautiful.
Man your parents are awesome! As are you! That house is beautiful.

Wow, great to see the bigger picture. Thanks for sharing. Fantastic. Your parents are wonderful.
And several of the marelon through hulls your father put on Driver are still working great!
Beautiful home and great shop!
I now have a better understanding of who you are. Impressive! Great amazing family. And you, most amazing in many ways. love watching your videos.
Thanks and due to the history, your gifts keep giving

That crawl space would freak me out. Afraid of getting stuck. Sailors are fearless.
I've been sailing with André, whose first time aboard a sailboat was with you crossing the Panama Canal. I've taught him to play cribbage, which he loves.
Yeah, as others have said your Parents are amazing! They must be SO DAMN PROUD OF YOU!!
Awesome. Cool dad, cool house and a business with love at the centre.
Your parents house is amazing and your dad is the coolest ever!

Great episode. Love your Dad’s shop.
It is nice to get Dad's advice. Your parents have built a beautiful home. I'm glad you got to visit and get a break from the boat. Safe travels.
You have a cool dad ! I'm myself a professional guitar and violin maker and I'm just getting into learning to build a boat, to hopefully go round the world one day...
Easy to understand how you ended up being such a tough girl when you tell your parent's story. And what an amazing house they have built!

Ooo that's a great idea. I never though of using one of those as a bilge pump
