    I rented a camper just like this, last year, for my week round Scotland, & to be perfectly honest with you, I didn't enjoy it at all!
    The bed was comfy enough, & big enough, but the ridiculous amount of cupboards/storage, which took up around 40% of the interior space, really prevented any chances of having any room to move at all..........and I was there on my own!!
    I can't even imagine how cramped it would be with two people using it!!
    I'm on the lookout for an MPV, or a big estate car, to have a go at making my own micro-camper.........with NO cupboards!
    I don't need cupboards, just 'elbow-room'!! 🤣

      Heya James! We definitely see what you mean, it was a tight squeeze thats for sure! Also considering Steves 6'3 and Im 5'10 (certainly not petite people). I think also because we have quite a bit of luggage, therefore the process of unpacking and re-packing was a little frustrating at times. We do a van tour showing the interior layout and functionality in our video coming out this Sunday, please let us know what you think!

      @@KristyandSteve The lochness swim we did, was part of a swim test, to prove, our strength of swimming, we had to swim 25m out and back, we could do the the river canoe trip, and canoe surfing, while we were in scotland, we had to climb (well hike) ben nevis in force 9 gale, full pack on as the camping area we stayed at flooded, we did some rock climing and ab sailing, also, not sure which loch it was, one with an island in the middle, we were boated out to the island where we did our 24 hour survival, with just pocho for shelter, great times in scotland, we did hit bad weather second week

    A little bit of geologic history something you may not know but the area of glen coe you drove through at 12:13 is home to what is believed to be an ancient Super volcano that last erupted 420 million yrs ago with 300x the force of St. Helen then going extinct creating the scenery we now know and love glad you enjoyed the trip, i would've suggested going to see Plockton village where they have Palm trees thanks to being in the Gulf stream they get nice tropical weather up there

    Loch Lomond is my backyard. The midgies can be ferocious from May to September, especially close to the water but the wind tends to stop the little buggers from flying. It looks like you were lucky.
    I'm not sure carrying your stuff in a vehicle is "wild camping" (which I think of as back packing into the landscape ) but you'll definitely get a better feel of the place than staying in a Bed & Breakfast.
    I've walked the ridges and tops in Glen Coe and surrounding area many times and the views are even more spectacular from up there (on a good day when you're not in mist) but in my opinion the far north west is even better and also a lot quieter so would be my recommendation if you ever return.

    • @KristyandSteve

      Thanks so much! We did have Isle of Skye on our original itinerary, but heard it was ridiculously busy so avoided and headed east. We'll see more of beautiful Scotland when we return 🥰

    • @UnknownUser-rb9pd
      @UnknownUser-rb9pd Месяц назад

      @@KristyandSteve Yes, Skye can get very busy because it is one of the "bucket list" destinations for visitors. However, head a bit further north into Lochcarron, Torridon and Applecross and it is quieter and equally spectacular. Then travel up to Ullapool and the road up to the top of Scotland and the scenery gets even better.And a lot quieter still. There's a driving route called the North Coast 500 which is a 500 mile circuit right around this area and returns down the east coast and it is a really lovely route. You'll find plenty of reviews of it online. Lots of beaches and coves as well as mountains and some very nice camp sites like the one at Scourie.
