    Creating realistic and believable living, breathing things in CG is probably the most difficult thing to do in animation, so they did an impressively good job with this movie.

      I think a notable first will be when they make CG animals do 'icky' animalistic things, like a tiger scent marking a tree, or a rhino pooing. That would take realism to the next level. It's unlikely that Disney would ever do that, of course. However, the CG artists here are to be commended for the messy fur and very natural-looking deviations from perfection.

      (Devin Hansen) then why was Cinema Sins bitching about how" terrible" the CGI is???!!!!!!!!!

    • @Xiox321
      @Xiox321 7 лет назад +3

      Because they bitch about literally everything. There are very few movies that have really well done CG for animals.

    These guys are the real heroes of Hollywood. Too bad the work ethic culture pushes them to unbearable levels.

    So when they animate muscles and bones, do they animate the movement so it respects classical mechanics? or is it some sort of engine that has build parameters on the physical limitation of the bodies?

    • @abtyang
      @abtyang 7 лет назад +8

      The actual movement is manually animated by character animators, and then the muscle/skin simulation is layered on top to make the final deformation feel more realistic.

      Woah that's incredible.

      They must be extremely conscious of they're decision making.

      Alan Yang what software did they use? I'm planning to do this kind of animal animation in the future..

    • @abtyang
      @abtyang 7 лет назад +2

      It depends on the studio and sometimes it's in-house software, but Maya is the general standard for animation, and Houdini for FX. Although I believe MPC uses an in-house solution for fur.

    Some really good animation work and great job on the realism. But it's a pity that there were quite some anatomical mistakes in particularly Shere Khan.
