What I love most about him is the extremely long late cancel frames on H.powercharge that allows so much combo depth and freedom, I can't stop playing him. He has endless combo routes and imo some of the best normals in this game.
@managers6667 She was definitely better than Gief, Lily, Honda, Sim, Manon, and Jaimie. Maybe even better than Kim. Calling her trash was typical overreacting from players who expected her to be broken.
I like how Terry actually requires some braincells to use. This game does not need another braindead shoto-type. He's also the most fun character in the game right now? I wasn't expecting that.
Terry is very strong but he is not a brain dead character. you need to use your brains to use Terry to the Max. he is very fun to play as. if you can fully master him. you can not be stpped. Terry is Running Wild. Terry # 1 SNK # 1
I was definitely struggling with Terry a bit in the ranked ladder, and was taken aback by how hard he is (coming from someone who has played Terry in SNK games with little trouble), but he is gradually clicking with me, and that feeling is pretty gratifying, compared to playing say Bison who was much quicker grasp.
He gives me Ken vibes very solid, balanced, only slightly more complex then Ken because he has more moves but for those of us who played Terry in snk games it stays true to his roots and would be pretty easy to pick up and play, he has some nuance and his combo routes are definitely comparable to ken, a decent character overall.
Terry is quite fun to play and explore. I can totally relate to the problem of having so many combos in my head that I do a drive rush cancel into.... well, nothing! So, for now I just want to simplify my game plan and add new combo routes one day at a time.
I'm around diamond 2 with Ryu and I feel like he beats terry in the fireball war. Because since Terry's only fireball that reaches across full screen is light fireball and of fireball, this means that ryu's od fireball will beat l fireball and his Denjin od fireball will beat Terry's od fireball. I've had plenty of situations where Ryu just flat out beat terry in the fireball war. He also has a fake fireball like how Ryu uses hashogeki, but at the end of the day he can't compete with Ryu. He could probably get away with it against Ken, but I don't think he can get away with it with characters like Ryu and Akuma, maybe even Guile
I'm buying Terry stock low. I'm expecting a few buffs here and there and a long tail rise through the ranks as the labbers reveal the optimal tech. This season, we will see 1 or 2 serious Terrys, but a year or two from now we'll see more. I don't think he'll ever get to Akuma/Ken level usage, but he's got a niche.
i agree pro players won.t pick him up any time soon expect for those speicalist that loves terry want to make it work .though i will say tachikawa terry very nice i would not be surpised replace his manon who knows but his m ed so good doesn.t need to switch well see.
I don’t play six yet but from what I know, a character people like is better than whether they’re good or not cause if a character changes in the meta, someone has to care about them
@vesperarcade heard you mention on stream that you're learning the game more from playing Terry. Any chance of a vid on learning the game/fundamentals through Terry.
@6:14 when he said Terry has so much to choose from you have a brain spasms when you do a combo is so true LMAO 😂😂😂. I drop combos because I don't know what I want to do lol.
People saying he has too many moves, and here i am saying hes has not enough moves. 😅 i jest a bit but i am coming from the SNK side of the house and he feels fine. KoF 15's terry is still the best version of Terry but SF6 is definitely the second best.
Terry is ok. He is a solid mid A teir character. The problem with him is that he is the 5th shoto in sf6. Is there really a reason to pick him when the other shotos do what he doesto a better degree?
i personally find him harder to play than even ed or chun-li, almost to a detracting level because my results with terry have been super inconsistent. likely just a skill issue on my end but he's damn hard to use, and this is coming from someone who's played terry a lot in other games
I have no problem with pay to win. If I'm paying for a character, why shouldn't that character be strong? The issue I have is not making the base characters just as strong. Oh, and another thing I realize while playing is gameplan revolves around his plus frames Burning knuckles setups
Terry is super fun to play but IMO he's mid. Zero normals + on block, stubby heavies (other than st.hk) he has high damage but lots of his options are "fake". Awesome character, super Solid, but I think he's mid-tier somewhere around Ryu
Most of the pros have bum mindsets even if i was playing for money i wouldn't just pick the most braindead characters to win i have more pride then that i would play who i want and if it doesn't work out oh well i had fun and met people instead of winning with these baby made chars with spamable broken shit
Terry Swift mid tier AF, like hes always been. The iconic VA isnt there, which kinda sucks. Overall though, hes a well balanced, well designed character.
Complicated is crazy with everything you just explained that’s the base tline of almost any other fighting game… have you only played SF, cuz that’s very basic and the base line of complication for most other fighters
What I love most about him is the extremely long late cancel frames on H.powercharge that allows so much combo depth and freedom, I can't stop playing him. He has endless combo routes and imo some of the best normals in this game.
Absolutely disagree about his normals. His heavies especially are just trash
I really like y'all's thumbnails I know instantly that it's a vesper video with that white and orange font
Broski and Hikaru made A.K.I work back when she was considered trash.
Someone somewhere will do the same with Terry.
she was trash before buffs
Aki was lacking some things. Her recent buff really made a difference.
@managers6667 She was definitely better than Gief, Lily, Honda, Sim, Manon, and Jaimie. Maybe even better than Kim. Calling her trash was typical overreacting from players who expected her to be broken.
@mappybc6097 That was every low tier minus kimberly, lol. I would say Aki was mid around then, but inconsistent tho
@@TooSweaty7 That I agree with.
Great discussion! Regardless where Terry Ends up, I fucking Love him. Good on Capcom.
I like how Terry actually requires some braincells to use.
This game does not need another braindead shoto-type.
He's also the most fun character in the game right now? I wasn't expecting that.
Ed jp and aki is funner

Hell yeah Right On !!!!!!!!

Terry is Solid similar to Ed when he got released i think he's great when he's complicated he's too much fun.
He has counters for everything
He seems pretty good to me. Good conversions, good damage, good cr.mk, good safe specials, good supers, nothing he has is hard to do
I'm buying Terry stock low. I'm expecting a few buffs here and there and a long tail rise through the ranks as the labbers reveal the optimal tech. He has toooooo many combo..
I can't remeber.😂
i agree pro players won.t pick him up any time soon expect for those speicalist that loves terry want to make it work .though i will say tachikawa terry very nice i would not be surpised replace his manon who knows but his m ed so good doesn.t need to switch well see.

He has too many tools to not be
Just like jamie 🥲
@@MrPinex But with Jamie its limited behind drinks . His Lp>MP>LK shouldn't need drinks
He is the funnest DLC so far. I like ED too

Shoto= automatic high tier
No Shoto HP Punch. He's Ryu level or below
Thinking man's bruiser. He has a tool for everything.
I never noticed it before, but is that a Bust a Move/Puzzle Bobble plushie in the back?
I just glad they didn`t break him
it started with Rashid, then Ed and then Akuma.
Terry is ok. He is a solid mid A teir character. The problem with him is that he is the 5th shoto in sf6. Is there really a reason to pick him when the other shotos do what he doesto a better degree?
Picking Terry over Gouki or Ken isn't worth it. Except weird cases like Xian dropping DJ or something.
i personally find him harder to play than even ed or chun-li, almost to a detracting level because my results with terry have been super inconsistent. likely just a skill issue on my end but he's damn hard to use, and this is coming from someone who's played terry a lot in other games
His pressure on knockdown is suspect no plus normals is tough
1st thing to remember, he's not a shoto.
I have no problem with pay to win. If I'm paying for a character, why shouldn't that character be strong? The issue I have is not making the base characters just as strong. Oh, and another thing I realize while playing is gameplan revolves around his plus frames Burning knuckles setups
No Patch notes?
Id say hes mid tier. That cr mk cancel is god like tho
We jumping on the downplaying wagon huh
I hope so, but he is unlike Rashid or Ed who has an obviously strong SA2 waiting for pros to develop
Terry is super fun to play but IMO he's mid. Zero normals + on block, stubby heavies (other than st.hk) he has high damage but lots of his options are "fake". Awesome character, super Solid, but I think he's mid-tier somewhere around Ryu
Nemo think Terry is weak.
Nemo also thinks gief is top tier. Doesn't mean much 😂
NEMO has him in 'D' tier
He has Gief and Ed in S tier and Akuma/Bison in B tier. He's dumb.
Ken is the most successful character in the tournaments
terry is not a standard shoto
Most of the pros have bum mindsets even if i was playing for money i wouldn't just pick the most braindead characters to win i have more pride then that i would play who i want and if it doesn't work out oh well i had fun and met people instead of winning with these baby made chars with spamable broken shit
Terry sucks I'm going back to my main A.K.I.
IMAGINE ELENA lol
Terry Swift mid tier AF, like hes always been. The iconic VA isnt there, which kinda sucks. Overall though, hes a well balanced, well designed character.

Yall definitely not Tekken players and it shows 😂
no one said they were lil bro
