man, that's insane. Philipps and Chapin commentating, Shenhar and LSV competing and Reid Duke and EFro in the background on the left while they SB. Hella skill here
In game one, I wonder why Shahar didn't just eat a creature and let Luis have the land. He surely knew about the redcap play, and Scavenging Ooze is a real threat to be reckoned with if it sticks around.
That is exactly what I thought. LSV was already at 4 lands, Melira Pod (back when it was a legal deck) didn't have much use for the 5th land unless they were planning to hard cast Revilark. Shahar presumably knew that the Ooze would not grow from the land and LSV was not going for value by getting the Voice back, so even if he did not know about the particular Redcap play, it should have been a fairly obvious ruse. Shahar had the potential for a good board position between the Ooze, Lili, and the Treetops, so the play should have been to let the Witness resolve and then on his turn uptick Lili, and hold mana to grow the Ooze, holding out for an Obliterator.
let luis gain his marginal value of the temple garden and keep the scooze alive to break up the combo later. luis gave shahar an additional choice to mess up and shahar took the bait
I read that Shahar moved to the US when he was little. Doesn't that mean that he should be considered American, I mean if he would play for the US in the Olympics...
In football qualifications Israel is also with UEFA, probably because football matches between Israel and some neighbouring countries isn't the best idea...

I wonder why Chapin is not commenting at every SCG event
I feel like once your in the hall of fame you should be able to use your sweet tokens on camera. That judge was like NOT THIS TIME LSV!!
0:45 smoooth
I miss paper Magic.
How did lili get cast with 1 black mana in game one?

Who else was laughing when Luis dropped his cards at 0:50

+Red_Dragon_Scale he was going to eat whatever Luis targeted with the witness as to not gain a major advantage with that card.

what happened i game 3? Shenhar had 1 forest and 3 duals and got phyrexian obliterator that cost 4 swamps? wth?
Double Twilight Mire
2 twilight mires
What the hell just happened. Did I see an instant speed pod?
nvm
Its so strange to see Shahar get played like that in game one. Shows the kind of skill Luis has....
I would of expected LSV to play control and not aggro combo
Control isn't really a thing in modern, at least not any sort of durdley drawgo kind.
How did Shenhar play the Obliterator with only 2 black mana sources?????
urborg
john doe
There was no Urborg.
*****
Thanks! I was really confused.
hahah they made him use a star city token
SuperRandombox I
What's up with that one judge's anime hair locks?
There is a mega fat judge in the back
Now LSV plays lands in front of spells. So sad much dissapoint.
Agreed. Lands in back should be an official tournament rule.
Goran Begovic he does it in cert in match-ups, it messes with some people, mostly the newer players
Well you got your wish,
Most ridiculous rules update. Making people uncomfortable on camera to appease some whiners.

I miss pod
wow lsv is sooo smart >.
i didn't know Israel was European
how the hell is shahar shenhar european? He's from Israel
In football qualifications Israel is also with UEFA, probably because football matches between Israel and some neighbouring countries isn't the best idea...
That was the joke I think, he was labelled as European and they were making fun of that fact.
actually Shahar is from California, he grew up near San Diego playing with LSV.
Well, that's still not Europe Daniel :P
Hahaha xD touchè Andrew
