    man, that's insane. Philipps and Chapin commentating, Shenhar and LSV competing and Reid Duke and EFro in the background on the left while they SB. Hella skill here

    In game one, I wonder why Shahar didn't just eat a creature and let Luis have the land. He surely knew about the redcap play, and Scavenging Ooze is a real threat to be reckoned with if it sticks around.

    • @whorcares123
      @whorcares123 9 лет назад

      That is exactly what I thought. LSV was already at 4 lands, Melira Pod (back when it was a legal deck) didn't have much use for the 5th land unless they were planning to hard cast Revilark. Shahar presumably knew that the Ooze would not grow from the land and LSV was not going for value by getting the Voice back, so even if he did not know about the particular Redcap play, it should have been a fairly obvious ruse. Shahar had the potential for a good board position between the Ooze, Lili, and the Treetops, so the play should have been to let the Witness resolve and then on his turn uptick Lili, and hold mana to grow the Ooze, holding out for an Obliterator.

      +Red_Dragon_Scale he was going to eat whatever Luis targeted with the witness as to not gain a major advantage with that card.

      let luis gain his marginal value of the temple garden and keep the scooze alive to break up the combo later. luis gave shahar an additional choice to mess up and shahar took the bait

    Its so strange to see Shahar get played like that in game one. Shows the kind of skill Luis has....

    I would of expected LSV to play control and not aggro combo

    • @gnomeyMTG
      @gnomeyMTG 9 лет назад

      Control isn't really a thing in modern, at least not any sort of durdley drawgo kind.

    I read that Shahar moved to the US when he was little. Doesn't that mean that he should be considered American, I mean if he would play for the US in the Olympics...
