I can't tell you how helpful this is! We're just starting out on our home school journey (I have an upcoming 2nd grader and kindergartner as well) and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and this is totally something I could see myself using. Binging all of your videos for more tips! Thank you so much!

Aww don’t worry! You’ve got this! Once you figure out the best way to organize yourself it makes life a lot less stressful. Trello was mine - I just was terrible at pen and paper and it was cumbersome. Trust me I wanted to love a written planner because they are all so cute, but Trello just made Homeschool life a lot easier to digest mentally and saved my sanity! 😂 I’m glad my videos were helpful to you! 🥰

We've also used Trello to organize, and I'm extra as well, but did not realize you could just paste into the card!! I planned all 36 weeks of Blossom and Roots science and nature in Trello for this year, and made a big folder of the saved images, and then went and added them to each card using the attachment option. Ohhh, the time this would have saved me! 😭🤣

😂😂 I did the same thing when I first started planning in Trello! Then I accidentally copied and pasted a picture into the card and when it worked, all I could think was “I just wasted so much time saving all those photos on my desktop 🤦🏼‍♀️” 😂

Please continue to add to this video series. I am new to Trello and I need direction.

I am! Unfortunately I got sick right after I filmed this and lost my voice for almost 3 weeks 🥴. I was finally able to film the second video and it will be live on my channel next Tuesday! 🥰 So stay tuned!

I love trello for organization. Some of my favorite things are the automation (so it creates due dates and labels for me when I make certain cards), the ability to search by label to isolate what we did in each subject for the year, and how you can c+p to copy cards seamlessly when duplicating a subject (like Math).
You don't have to manually click the copy button, just hover on the card in the list, control c, then go to the list you want to add it to and control p.
Another tip, you can actually left click on an image in Google search, copy the image link and go back to your card. Control p, when you are not in the description box and it will attach the image automatically to take out that extra step.

You can also drag lists to reoder them, as well as cards. You probably know that, but I'm throwing it out there...i haven't watched all your previous trello videos yet.

Yes! I love the automation features available - I’m going to touch upon some of those in my next video which goes more into “the weeds” of Trello features! Thanks for the tip on the C+P with the photos! That will definitely save me some time! 🥰 And yes - I love the flexibility of Trello, being able to drag cards and lists to where ever you need them because life always seems to happen and throw us curveballs in our schedules 😂🥴

I have been wanting to use trello for our homeschool for a couple years now and I just felt overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing this how to. I will be saving it and waiting for your next video. One question, do you just keep adding on week by week on the same board for the whole year or do you run out of room on a board and have to start another one? I also think I’m going to split my two kids up on separate boards. I have a kindergartener and a 6th grader.

I’m glad that this video was helpful! I should have part 2 up in the next week! So I do between 4-6 weeks in each board (that’s what I found is manageable for me). For next year, we are doing a an around the word study, so I’m making each board a continent. Each continent takes about 4-6 weeks to get through so it works out perfectly! My girls are only 2 years apart so we do a lot of subjects together (except for Math and LA), so I keep them together, but if they were farther apart like your kiddos, I would probably split them into separate boards as well! 🥰 Let me know if there is anything specific you want me to cover in the next video!

Thank you for the reply! I know nothing about trello so anything will be helpful. I just know that this will work better for me. I tried the paper planner many times and it just never works out for me. I’m going to start playing around with it now to get familiar with it

I move everything to a monthly finished board, where I can go back and reference it, at the end of each of my weeks.
I also use mine as a digital portfolio and include completed work samples beyond the required state minimum papers. No more finished workbooks in a box for me!

@jainaerin that sounds awesome! So for the finished board do you just move the list to board? I’m sorry I am very new to all of this. How do you use it as a portfolio? Do you have videos on RUclips? @MaryBarfield thank you again for sharing this. I just set up the first 6 weeks of my son’s preschool and I feel so organized. I used to use a paper planner and never stuck with it but Trello is amazing so far!
