Flying the Pitts S2A with Budd Davisson

I spent a week in Scottsdale, AZ flying with Budd Davisson, the Pitts landing guru. This video shows some of our last flight of the week including getting strapped in and some takeoffs and landings.
Budd is a very interesting guy and a great instructor. He's logged more than 6000 hours dual instructing in the Pitts Special. I came in to this training with very little tailwheel time (had not earned the endorsement yet) so my progress was slow. However, by the end of the week (we logged 12 hours), I was able to land the Pitts without breaking anything. Not pretty but I'll get there.

I feel your pain, how much longer did you have to practice to be able to get rid of those bounces and missed center line, and solo in Pitts?

As far as I know, no. He teaches you to land the Pitts. I figured I need to learn that first!
