I haven't got one of these yet but I can safely say that thanks to these videos and Brandons knowledge and thorough walk-through, I would happily complete these repairs without any worry. Be sure to thank him! Hope to see many MANY more videos.
Thanks for this great video. I am trying to change the main frame and swashplate. Will it be possible to make a video that also shows how to take out the outer shaft and swashplate and the motors? I am sure it will be very instructional for many of us.
thanks for the video!! seriously , if it wasnt for this , iw ould have NO clue how to replace my hub , (one side of the black plastic bit of the head of the hub snapped off!). i replaced it , and didnt screw it in like you suggested - so in a crash , the flybar would just fly off and HOPEFULLY not snap my hub again! thanks again from south australia! :)
Steve C, I have a mCX2 and have flown it successfully a number of times. It flies and hovers steadily and without vibration. The circuit board is mounted to two stiff beams that show very little flexing. My guess is that you have a defective unit. If it came that way out of the box, return it. You deserve a good product. If it now vibrates after you have flown it a while or if it has crashed, then maybe some screw has loosened or there is a bent or broken part. The fault lies with a particular defect and not with the design or engineering of the machine.
Thank you for a fabulous DIY video. A+++. Only question I have is: should the top blades spin longer and more freely by hand than the bottom blades? This is the case with mine which I think is normal but not quite sure. Heli flies fine just a bit slow in forward...maybe I have programmed the DX6i incorrectly...
I'd been experiencing interference between the body and the upper blade gear, possibly caused by too many crashes. You could actually see burn marks on the inside body panels. I decided to solve the problem once and for all by cutting open tiny slots on both sides of the body next to where the gears were rubbing.
@TheDJGHOST1 If you have a ghost vibration check all linkages for too much slop or binding. Same goes for the swashplate. If you can find anything, tear it down, replace the blades and rebuild. usually takes care of it.
I would like to know what Video Camera did you use? To do this awesome Video. This is one of the Best Videos that I have seen in a long time! Did you use a wide angle lens and Macro ? Thanks
Hi, i have had my MCX2 for about a week now and it has had a few knocks, the main shaft seems loose, i can wobble it up and down a little and from the videos i have seen that should not happen so do i need to replace the shaft or is there something else i can do, any screws i can tighten that would help?, thanks.
I purchased a used mcx2 that i had to bind to my transmitter. I noticed quickly that the controls were reversed. I fixed the yaw control by switching the motor connectors but I still have reversed aileron and forward/backward controls. How do I fix that?
@dizonflorencia Check the shaft to see if it's loose. If not the battery might not be getting a full charge. check to make sure its at about 4volts when charged.
Having problem w MCX2 - my upper and lower blades are not independently spinning. When you cut power they are spinning at same speed/angle. Flying helo it will only lift a few feet off ground then slowly come back to a few inches off ground. It came upon rather quickly - no crash. You can get the blades to move independently with your hand but there is a "stickiness". Assume they need each to spin freely for helo to work properly. Any advice on how to do repair??
@dizonflorencia Sounds like the helicopter does not have an electronic gyro. Nothing you can do there but go out and buy a heli that's a level up from yours. Take a look at the MCX or MCX2 in this video.
My helicopter is vibrating when I try to fly with it. I checked the gears and the hub. I did everything like you did in this video. But I can't solve this problem. I would be pleased if you could help me to fix this.
hey i have a question about my mcx 1.. when i put a fully charged battery in it, and i put it on, it wont lift off the ground even at full throttle.. please help!
I have a problem, when I turn on my transmitter and then plug in my MCX2, the lights flash once and thats it. I can move my sticks how I want, my helicopter won't move at all, and the lights turn off after one flashing. I tried to find out what was wrong, but my pieces should work perfectly, and I changed all the batteries, except for the helicopter battery. Is the 120mAh Lithium Polymer Battery the problem? Or are the wires and chips inside the helicopter not working? Please help me, because I didn't use it so much that it could be damaged by use (I think).
I came here looking for a solution to the toilet bowl effect. I removed the inner shaft, and sure enough it was ever so slightly bent, I rolled it on the edge of the table to check witch way it was bent. I push down on it when it wobbled "up" to take the bend out. It flew perfectly after that. Then I immediately flew into a cabinet without killing the throttle, it hit so hard I cringed. Always, ALWAYS kill the throttle if you think you are going to crash, the helicopter will survive the fall. You will feel all cool and stuff if you manage to recover and avoid a crash but if you don't recover it's hello swirly swirly helicopter. Then you don't feel so awesome.
i bought an rc helicopter, i flew it only once and got crashed, i tried to fly it up again but never off again...... so whats d problem wit it.... and how can i repair it
The MCX2 is a piece of junk! Has anyone figured out how to fix the flimsy frame so it doesn't vibrate so badly? Everything on mine shakes so badly that it won't fly straight and just goes out of control!
Loren Rademacher Yes but there is nothing out of balance. The problem is that it seems to have been designed by mechanical engineering idiots who apparently flunked out of school! They must have never heard of triangulation either. Have you taken the cover off and looked at the badly designed frame? What kind of moron would put the electronics out on the end of a flimsy plastic stick where it can flap around without any sort of bracing?
I haven't got one of these yet but I can safely say that thanks to these videos and Brandons knowledge and thorough walk-through, I would happily complete these repairs without any worry.

GREAT job on the video. Brand new to the RC world and just purchased the MCX2. It was very educational for me. I appreciate the time spent.
@niceNcrispy83 wow....thanks so much for the kind comment! We're really glad we could help you out..
As you mentioned , the first thing I broke on my heli was the hub , fixing it was E-Z thanks to your video . Thanks !

That was a FANTASTIC video. Can you show how to change the main body. One of the posts broke off mine and I need to change out the main body.
Very helper video/tutorial - clear and concise. Thank you.
Yes hi I was wondering if you could more in depth on how to replace the swash plate for the MCX2, I'd appreciate it very much! Subscribed!

Very informative video. Can you do a similar video for the Blade 120 SR please?
@rcflightschool Perfect! I actually had a question regarding the mcx2 repair I was hoping you could answer it.

Do you think you can make more videos for other repairs like replacing the swashplate?
Good video. Who designs these micro machines? Amazing engineering.

what would be the next step after the msrx? what collective pitch copter would you recommend??
thanks for the reply
I need to replace the main frame set for my Blade MCX2. Is there a video available that shows how to do this?
I would like to know what Video Camera did you use? To do this awesome Video.

I learned some great stuff in this video.
Well done !

Great job!! I wonder what inspired the couple of people who pushed the "dislike" button, I really do..

can u guys do a swash-plate replacement video thnx guys
@canadianstarbuck thanks for the kind words
can you make a video of a complete disassembly and rebuild of a Extreme ss1 helicopter?
when is the results going to be for the contest on aug 1st
hey i have a question about my mcx 1.. when i put a fully charged battery in it, and i put it on, it wont lift off the ground even at full throttle.. please help!
Soo helpful. Thanks!
video i've been waiting for. great!

@grahamlwilson Absolutely!
My servo pushrods aren't pulling equally, so it would fly at an angle when i want to fly straight....any idea why that is?
@rcflightschool thanks for the info
Great video than
Isnt there suppose to be a contest like a giveaway? maybe its just me, but how much is that Mcx2 cost
So I should make sure the shafts don't move up and down on it for best flight?
what type of motor is it?
I had to replace my swashplate. I put everything back together and now my MCX2 won't roll left or move forward w/any authority. Can anyone help?
how do u fix the lower wing
@MegaRallycar sorry we are getting behind with the live event this week...really soon....maybe tonight..
thumbs up great video.
I broke my body post peg off the main frame and i dont know how to take a apart
@begley09 thanks much, I will talk to brandon
I have the excact same problem
@nerfman99999999 sorry we are getting behind with the live event this week...really soon....maybe tonight..
i bought an rc helicopter, i flew it only once and got crashed, i tried to fly it up again but never off again...... so whats d problem wit it.... and how can i repair it
you will have to take it apart and look for broken or bent parts. New parts can be ordered from the same place you got your heli.
@HamRHeadToo I can talk to brandon and hopefully he will expand
Nevermind that's for the mcpx 2
my heli stoped turning on and I keep on charging it [heli = rc bell 222
