Hi , I have atleast 20 different dendrobium orchids but they don't bloom.. they get new stem and for the stem again new stem grows but hardly bloom, I have hanged them in d balcony ...I think because of sunlight they don't bloom and they are not very healthy. I have put the same pot mixture what u have shown, I use flowering and growing fertilizer I.e, blue,green and white. Can you help.

Give more water and more sunlight (not direct) :) Sunlight is very important
Its good if you grow few other nectar flower plants too...

I have orchids since 2yrs but only 1plant bloom,I have 10 plants got it online from cochin, it's all dendrobiam variety, and very slow growth

Do apply growing and blooming fertilizers every week !! :) Give them a lot of light , but not direct sunlight :)

Oh sure! That is definitely coming up! I will do that very soon!!! Thanks for watching :) In short, keep your seedling away from pest and high heat of sun. Also, apply only mild fertilizer or they will get burnt :)

I have 4 Dendrobium orchid plants. 3 of them are seedlings and one is a mature plant.I bought them in November last year.
I keep all of these orchids in the southern side of my east facing balcony. They only receive the morning sunlight,rest of the day they enjoy bright shade. I water them using a sprayer nozzle every morning at 7am. And twice a week I use orchid boon fertilizer; the growth fertilizer for the seedlings and the bloom fertilizer for the mature plant. My balcony is breezy. I have potted them in terracotta orchid pots with charcoal and brick pieces. I did not use coconut husk as they catch fungus in humid kolkata weather very easily. What am I doing wrong? When can I expect flowers ?

First thing: Dendrobium orchids need more sunlight than other varieties. Also, please tell me if you have other plant varieties having flowers with nectar?

@@houseoforchids Not in my balcony. On my terrace I have hibiscus,jasmine plants. In balcony apart from the orchids I have money plants,but they are at two opposite corners. I am temporarily growing chilli n tomato plants in my balcony and will shift them soon.

@@WhimsyCrafter Dendrobium needs a lot of light that other orchid varieties. And it's good if you are not spraying a lot of pesticides because bees are good for pollination. So keep other nectar plants around. And do spray flowering fertilizer to mature orchid.

My orchid leaves are turning slightly yellow. I have hung it in shade only. I water it only when medium is dry.What could be the reason?

It could be fungus attack. Cut those leaves and apply fungicide. Apply indofil paste on the cut area of leaves. Also, spray indofil to the whole orchid. :) Hope this helped!!!
