I am a 20 year RLC Member and this was a must.A G1. Spectraflame and the name HOTWHEELS on the box and truck and the first collaboration with MATTEL & HASBRO come on man. OPTIMUS PRIME says it all I only got 1. Will be my treasured item next to the $500 + MOTU Eternia playset 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
I picked it up without much hassle. If you take into account the license cost (which had to be high), new tooling, engineering, and the limited run the price sort of makes sense. I mean they had to pay for all of the above stuff and make some money in one shot. I know some people think the engineering was easy, but I don’t think that’s true. Scale, materials, and quality has to be considered. That said those tiny plastic shoulders make me nervous.
I agree when you break down the engineering, detail and spectraflame paint. The price makes sense.

I broke down and bought 2. My friend started talking about how Hot Wheels gain value, and this has the special spectra flame paint... Plus its the first, and could be the last of mattel transformers that can transform.

Not all Hot Wheels gain value. I was going to snag the Donkey Kong Monster Jam 1/24 about 10 years ago, but refrained on doing so because I wasn't into figure/toy collecting. I checked the prices recently after the announcement of the Transformers X Hot Wheels collab and saw that the price of the DK one hasn't budged.

Yep. Same here. A collaboration between mattel hotwheels and hasbro transformers is crazy fun. License fee plus hotwheels fandom "tax" made 80 USD hard to go on in, but impossible to pass on by me.
Only thing I liked about gobots over transformers was how they could line up with matchbox and hotwheels cars back in the day.

I grab 2 for me and one for my nephew with no problems at all, i have been a fan of transformers since i was a kid, so i have to jump on this!

It's historic collaboration between two awesome brands. Being the first and many more to come, it will be very pricey in the near future to get this one. Wish the price could be cheaper, however, licensing and other costs may be the reason for the high price. I was able to get it for my collection. 😊

I am so grateful for the 2 Hot Wheels. Transformers that I got. I love these things. One will stay in the box. So my kids can sell it when I die and I am playing with one.

I bought one it broke I sent it back to Mattel, but they couldn't replace it. Sucks to suck.
I managed to grab 3,5 min before it sold out and had a really hard time paying for the thing it kept denying my purchase not always gonna have a chance to own a Mattel Transformer

I was lucky to pick up 3. Two for my brothers and will keep one for me. I don’t mind it at $80 as long as it is very exclusive and limited.

It is an amazing looking figure but massively overpriced, the sad thing is it didnt encourage Mattel to give fair pricing as it sold out quicker then Origins. When the fanbase encourages these prices everyone suffers. I would have loved it but resisted at that price.

How so a rlc exclusive goes for 25-$35 this is the same treatment but a lot bigger and transforms and factoring in it’s a collab idk I got 2 but I get it
The scalper prices should come down but give it time. Remember the limited transformer "back to the future" DeLorean. The price at 1st was almost 4x the price. I just picked up two of them about a year ago for a little over the cost.
James this is a G1 HOTWHEELS X HASBRO OPUIMUS PRIME. I could go on and on. The price will go up and up. The name HOTWHEELS on any thing makes it sale.Plus it reaches HW,Diecast,Transformer and other type of collectors . I am glad I was able to get 1. That is all I wanted. This will be a keepsake for me.

I was able to get my 3, many problems with the site, lots of Hot Wheels membres got shut out. First time I had problems getting a drop in quite a while. Just for reference the RLC Bronco was 45 if I remember correctly and that was just fir removable doors and top. This was on price par with a all diecast and Spectraflame paint.

I do think it was over price at $80 but I managed to get two to display in truck mode and robot mode. Even though I didn’t like the price a collaboration like this is really rare and I’m both a hot wheels and transformer fan and collector. I believe a figured like this will not be replicated. Maybe a different color variant, but not this particular version.

Hey ken l was able to get 2 yeah the price was a little steep but pulled the trigger. Agreed this prime is a collectible and it took almost 3-5 minutes to order but l was able to process my order. Yes l hope this is a start for more transformers particular autobots. If mattel or hot wheels just make prices reasonable for figures we will buy. Really it's people who grow up with this figures therefore these companies could or should make these figures at a reasonable price knowing we will buy them.

It’s pricey but it’s probably a one time so even if it is pricey you could of just buy 2 and sell the other one and basically you get one for yourself for free, since it’s selling for almost twice the price on eBay

Such a shame when toy fans like this only focus on these headlines. I'd investigate the awful customer service Mattel provides and deep dive into how the company operates.
Of course they might not like that and stop sending you freebies. They cancelled my order for Optimus Hotwheels by accident and are refusing to reinstate it. The international number to call costs nearly £5 per minute and the local number advised calling them instead.
This isn't the only company who sells direct to customers that have done this kind of harsh customer service. Such a shame no one's looking into this
I got 600 of them as it's nothing lol. You get trolls on every fan "toy" channel & they are all the same, some middle-aged man who still lives in his mam's basement with his umbilical cord still attached. I love the look & concept of this figure/car but couldn't justify spending at sort of money especially when motuo Extendar is due out tonight
I'm ashamed to say, I have justified buying stuff that was overpriced way to many times in the past, but I couldn't even justify this one. Still I'm betting that even at 80 original price we'll see it on the secondary market for over 120.

Tried for 15 minutes (just because)but wouldnt go through. So aggrevating..then sold out in like 20 minutes. Didnt really want to pay the awful price of 90bucks anyway. TF been getting biring, repetative, expensive anyway..so obviously meant to be and just made a point...Again, about collecting now.

30mins is more than enough time, you snooze you lose. However ya its a tad overpriced. However masterpiece transformers easily hit close to $225-400 usd in comparison. Meanwhile I managed to secure 1 this morning. Not looking forward to the sdcc stuff coming up my wallets going to take a beating 🙄
