- Welcome back Justice League!
Today I am having a battle that is long overdue! We are going to have the ultimate distance driver battle to see which driver goes the farthest for amateur disc golfers like myself. I have 11 distance driver contestants for the battle all from a variety of manufactures. What disc do you think is going to win this distance driver battle?

Yeah keep that wild honey in the bag and rolling it out of bounds
Wild honey for the win 🥇
Fission wave
Ya I hear they bomb 💯
Disc Golf, like many sports, has a huge mental aspect to the game. Watching the first 2 rounds I knew which disc would win. In the first 2 rounds when you didn't like the flight of the Honey, you redid them stating they were nose up. You did this subconsciously because you are comfortable with the Honey and know what you CAN get out of the disc. You currently bag it for a reason, you wanted it to win. Disc Golf is about confidence and what you are comfortable with. Doing this kind of "test" is not needed when you have that connection with a driver already other than for fun and content. It would take a massive gain in distance to make a player switch from what they are already confident in. Keep up the content! Ps. the Honey is a great disc tho!
💯💯💯
That is one of the most spot on comments I have ever read. Well done sir!
when we getting a head reveal?
When my hair grows back a little 😂😂 boy got a bald head at the moment
I bag Fission Photons in the 165-170g range as my workhouse backhand distance drivers because they push so far while still maintaining an overstable flight. Like you showed, a more understable distance driver can edge out a bit more distance, but at the cost of accuracy and consistency. I love being able to put my Photons on max distance angles and know they will still flex back at the end, where something like the Hades has to be hit at very specific angles to achieve the flight you want from it. Photons are very forgiving when you want to let it rip. I also bag a Cosmic Neutron and Proton Photon for power forehands because they can handle some serious torque and are a great substitute for the Fissions for backhands in strong winds. It's quickly become one of my favorite molds, and the versatility in its range of plastics is awesome.
I absolutely agree with every single word you just said! 💯💯 very well put Alex!
My max distance driver is either a 160g Orbital or a 166g shryke depending on wind conditions.
I am at 5000ft and my max release velocity is 47mph.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to increase my release velocity.
I hear the shryke is an amazing disc! Unfortunately I don’t have any tips 😅
You should try a MVP wave! A bit more neutral than the photon, I like it for my max distance, also the streamline jet for something a little more flippy than the wave. I throw a proton wave and neutron jet. Nice video!
I’ve been meaning to get my hands on a wave for a while now! I keep hearing how much of a big bomber they are 💯
The Wave tends to be way too flippy usually when you've got upwards of 400ft power, but if you're stuck at around 300ft or so, a Wave is definitely a good choice. Haven't thrown the Jet yet though.
@@pauldefaire I would disagree, although I’m mostly familiar with the proton wave, I max out right over 400 ft and my wave usually just flips up to flat maybe gets a little turn, I can even forehand it. I have been wanting to get my hands on a flipper wave though so I might try a fission
After I learned to throw more nose down my Honeys just crash and burn very easily. Also they both are somewhat beat up so I might just have to get a new one in but the first ever throw with a Honey went 125m so about 410 feet. Now I get much more reliable flights out of something more stable like Westside Discs World. Still can smash them up to 400 but with way more accuracy. If I have to go standstill I can get the Honey to go almost as far as my full power throws so there is definitely places for that more understable distance driver in the bag.
What about lone star discs
Can’t seem to find any of that out here
I didn't measure the distances because it's irrelevant.... Uhhh, isn't that the whole point of this video?
all of the discs you picked could have won with the proper height and angle. The most important difference in distance driver is confidence in the hand. I bag destroyers in different plastics to cover all of my distance drivers. great video :).
Agreed 💯 thanks for the support mate! 🙏🏽
Tattar Grace is my biggest bomber right now. I've been consistently hitting 400ft on golf lines, and I can't do that with any of my other distance drivers
For some reason I’ve just never gotten along with the grace. I think it’s a great disc but I don’t get many great connections with it
@@discgolfjusticenormally I throw 360-380ft with either my Supreme Trespass, or my Paradigm, but for whatever reason the Grace has been $ for me. It looks like you throw with a lot of hyzer. I prefer anhyzer, so maybe that's the difference 🤷
Ya I used to throw with a slight anhyzer release and I was getting annoyed of it so I’ve been really focusing on throwing more of a hyzer release lately because I find it more consistent for me personally 😅
Infinite discs Pharaoh will go farther than any of these.
I throw very beatup 165-167g Star sockibot destroyer but i had also firstrun x5 400 but i Lost it when i threw a roller😅😅
I bet that thing bombed aye!
🥺 no axiom vanish? Champion mamba?
Hades can go as far as my vanish but no where near as consistent. Hades is so hard to hyzerflip on the same line every throw. Vanish and mamba always get to flat and turn. Hades is consistent thrown high hard and flat for that long turnover
I’ll have to try and get my hands on one!
Dang wish you got one of the new DM DD1. Stock S line came out more overstable than the Horizon. Watch a AM and Pro player on RUclips compare them and the stock S line DD1 is more stable than the stock S line DD3.
I actually have one on the way! 😅
A old bear in champion shryke and a newer star shryke, crazy part is I’m a gyro nut and 90% of my bag is gyro! Lol
I hear the shryke bombs 💯
For me my beat in star destroyers, g star destroyer, or pro destroyers all outfly my fission photon.
Got me thinking about the wild honey though. I need an understable bomber
It might be worth looking into! 👀
You were missing prodiscus discs at the comparision. There is fasti (probaply as understable as hades), razeri (which is like destroyer) and empire (which is kinda like cloudbreaker)
I’ll have to try them out!
Let me start by say I like the content but I thought you said your bag was set for the foreseeable future? Haven’t watched the video but rooting on grace
Ya it’s pretty much set, I’ve just been going back and forth about which driver I want to use. I haven’t been a fan of how slippery the s line dd3 plastic has been and the horizon CB isn’t quite as stable as I’d like. This battle was to help me decide if I wanted to go back to the Photon or not
i just got a cloud breaker that I am really excited to throw, but right now I throw destroyers for max distance
I like me a good Cloudbreaker 💯
Sick video man, definitely going to have to pick up a wild honey some time soon. BTW a tip to pronounce guld: the u-sound in guld is similar to push, cushions etc. Give it a whirl 😂
Definitely try out the honey! Thanks for the support my friend! 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Found a wild honey at a local course with no name so I started to throw it and bag it, love it. Still carry destroyers and dd3's but they only come out when there's wind, can't say enough good things about the wild honey.
Solid disc for sure!! 💯
I have 2 Graves. The Tattar Grace is much more stable than the stock version. The stock version is a bomber! My Tattar 'halo' is not beat in either.
My Thrasher might get close to the Grace is distance. Or supass it with tail wind.
It’s a great disc for sure!
My relativity is so flippy but if I throw it on some steep hizer it goes the farthest.
Understandable discs of beautiful to watch fly 💯
Fission photon flies surprisingly long. And plastic feels really good. Smooth as velvet.
Ya im a big fan of the fission photon 💯
Loft Bohrium is my max distance disc. Depending on the run though they can be either super flippy or beef
Interesting 🧐 I’ve never heard of that one
Max distance backhand for me is either 161g pharaoh or champion tern depending on the wind
Bodanza seems to like that Pharaoh as well maybe I’ll have to give it a rip 🤔
I love my wraith. In the wind and with the wind cross wind or not it is consistent.
Ya solid choice!
I love my Wild Honey. It's effortless distance. Flips up easily and glides. I've done similar comparisons myself to Waves, Hades, Terns, D4s, and Gryms and found the Wild Honey to be the easiest to get good distance out of.
Ya it can be a bit touchy, but she really goes and goes….and goes
I threw my longest throw ever about two weeks ago with the Wild Honey. It bombs, but the understability makes it hard for me to be consistent
Ya it’s definitely a bit touchy and not a good disc in any sort of head wind 💯
I put a 6x Hades in my bag recently. Absolutely love the feel in the hand (minus the rim tooling...) and can really get some good distance out of it.
Would be cool to see this kind of driver comparison where you take a look at how they feel in hand for you with rim width, depth, plastic (grippy/slick, stiff/gummy). I feel like these are all important along with distance in getting confident with the driver you have in your bag.
Excellent choice! And good idea I’ll have to make a video like that sometime 💯
the Katana and Shryke will fly further than a destroyer tbh
Interesting 🧐 I’ll have to try them out!
I bag a Wild Honey too, its incredible for long distance turnover shots, when hyzerflipping it i get over 400’ of distance with ease
Also have a Hades but that is way to flippy for me
Ya the 🍯 is 💰💯 I agree the hades is a big bomber but it’s just too touchy and very easy to overturn
Paul McBeth esp Zeus is my furthest flyer at the moment. The fission octane, star wraith, and the hades are right up there though
I hear really good things about the zeus 👀
Agreed! Zeus and Wraiths are $$
RPM Kahu XG quite flippy but bombs
I hear those are pretty money. I think threw one once but I didn’t know it was flippy so I threw it flat and it just rolled 😂
Hades🤩
The photon bombs man, I've got two in my bag with a lightweight being incredible in a tailwind. They are my main driver together with Octane's, both Fission cause its the best plastic ever. :D
I hope viewers understand that most of the discs you eliminated are the overstable, max weight ones, which are by design trading overstability (accuracy, consistency, wind resistance) over raw flippy distance. In an actual game, accuracy matters a lot more than that extra 10 feet.
Now we need a forehand distance driver shootout!!!
Hahaha I have a weak forhand. Only about 315-330’
My discraft hades for sure my bomber
Ya I still think the hades is the furthest flyer out of the lot, but it’s just so dang touchy it’s hard to get it right. Very easy to overturn it 💯
I use the new discmania lumen enigma
A couple of my friends toss the enigma. Looks like it bombs 💯
I’ve got a max weight Champion Destroyer I can push to 400 feet, but it’s starting to get flippy - especially in the wind. I used a Cloudbreaker in a windy round today and I was impressed by it. 360 - 380 in the wind with a little finish. A disc like a Heat or Wild Honey would turn into oblivion on the windy days here.
Oh ya I don’t recommend throwing the wild honey or the hades on a windy day unless you’re throwing with a tail wind. I’ve made that mistake before 😂
use a 2023 Calvin Destroyer for them headwinds if you already like your destroyers!
@@OkieTradez I'll have to pick one up and try it out. I have a Philo tour series Star Destroyer that's really stable too. It has a much higher parting line than my other destroyers. On a calm day it's too stable for much distance (for me) - like throwing a firebird - but it's probably the right call in the wind.
What weight was your hades ?
174g 🤙🏽
It’s Hades for me
Ya hades go pretty far 💯 just touchy
Good content sir 👍🏻
Thank you sir! 🙏🏽
Big Z Zeus
I really need to try a Zeus out one of these day 💯
well done
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Invalid if no Halo Wraith
Hahaha I feel that would just be too stable to get max distance for an am player. But I’ve also never thrown one 🤷🏽♂️ I’m not a big Innova fan
@@discgolfjustice I am not a huge fan either but the Halo Wraith is a monster disc. You could easily get max distance with it.
I’ll have to give one a crack one of these days 💯💯
My right pec literally hurts watching this 😂
😂😂😂 ya my arm was pretty dead after this. Had so much blood flowing to my hand haha
