C5 really isn't that high for a professional or semi-professional such as myself (got the music degree and training, but went into a different field to make a living), but I remember my days when a C5 would have been daunting for me as well 🙂. If you are having troubles, I find that most people think they need to push the mouthpiece into the face harder to reach high notes. I find, at least with my embouchure, the opposite is true. I let the mouthpiece pull away from my face just a tiny bit without breaking the seal or the mouthpiece's support of the embouchure. In short, don't tighten everything up :).
i read the comments before trying to play this on my euphonium and i thought people were being dramatic when they said trombone 2 was high.... my mouth literally dropped when it came to that part lol
Question: For the high notes (Maybe around E and above(?)) on Trombone 2’s part, could you lower those notes an octave down and still have it sound good? Also for the bass trombone, could you use a normal Bb trombone and raise some of the lowest notes an octave higher?
Good question. It wouldn't really work all together, the harmonies would be too squished together but you could definitely play all the parts separately like that. Raising some of the bass trombone notes up an octave wouldn't cause any problems though. You could get a trumpet to play the 2nd part and a tuba to play the bass!
Thanks Doom73. I agree, the articulations were left out more to save time. I'd encourage you to check out my recording of this arrangement, let me know what you think! ruclips.net/video/sBH_WqQPkg8/видео.html
Those high notes just scared me
High notes are just as scared of you as you are of them.
Same

@@HawkeyePierce1981i mean, im a high school sophomore and i'm pretty comfortable on that note, i knew a server one who had up to F6
As a bass trombonist I would have dropped soooo much of that down an octave for the 4th part.
Any self-respecting bass trombonist should!
RIght?!? "Never look at the trombones- it only encourages them". Richard Strauss
@thedukeoftbc that's my job
Oh no! I can’t believe it didn’t come together before your Sunday deadline. I’m eagerly anticipating next Sunday.

It's not too bad, the trick is to drink a bottle of rum first. If that fails, grab a tenor horn.

I know this song
I feel like the absence of slurs in the melody sort of takes away from the feel, but maybe that’s just me with my preferences. Still good nonetheless
