Accelerating Coats' Sustainability Journey: Towards a Greener Future
At Coats, we've been on a sustainability journey for the past four years, and we've achieved remarkable progress. However, we recognize that the time for change is running out. As a leading industrial thread manufacturer, we're part of the problem, but we're committed to being part of the solution.
By 2030, we've set ambitious goals to transform our business:
1. Making all our products completely independent of new oil extraction materials
2. Continuing to innovate sustainable solutions and products, including 100% recycled, compostable, and dissolvable threads
3. Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 46% for Scope 1 and 2, and 33% for Scope 3
4. Sourcing 70% of our global energy consumption from renewable resources
5. Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050
We're not just talking the talk - we're taking concrete actions to drive these changes. We're collaborating with partners to eliminate waste at every stage of the supply chain and designing products that enable greater recovery and circularity of materials.
Beyond environmental sustainability, we're also committed to making strides in diversity, equity, and inclusion, workplace health and safety, employee and community well-being, and supplier social performance.
