From your video I did not see that you replaced the rubber gasket that goes on the outside casing of the oil filter which is also supposed to be oiled so it’s easier to get off
Sometimes the gaskets gets stuck, the O-ring gets stuck depending on how hard it was to get the old filter off, it gets stuck up in there and doubles up and some people tighten and tighten and tighten forever but it doesn't seal, I think that's what he was referring to @@njsongwriter
U didn’t mention using a special tool lock to take out the filter, I thought it was a regular kind but it’s not. Dealership charge me $125 for oil change. The reason ppl say $500+ it because the dealership recommend the whole maintenance. I just told them oil change that’s all nothing else. They come back telling me my car need that and this come on it’s only 5 year old.
Thank you guys, for make me safe $500+ dollars 👍 dealerships wanna charge me that much for oil, filter and air intake filter, I told the dealer boy you crazy, no Thank you I do it my self😂, when to the auto parts, I spend 94bucks, thank you guys again appreciated
I have the same car. I don't like the 10k intervals. I do 5k. Lots of city driving. Just my take. There are maintenance service set up menus to keep track of everything. Amazing car. It just eats tires. I still love it
Not sure how it works in the US, but if you don't do services at the dealership doesn't that affect the re-sale value of the vehicle as it won't have a full service history? Of course that isn't an issue if you plan on keeping the vehicle to the point where you don't really expect it to sell for much as you get your money's worth by putting substantial miles on it, while saving on maintenance costs by DIYing. I see many people in the US do it though (there are a ton of videos), but where I live (South Africa) what I just said is a thing to consider. I'll be happy if anyone could tell me if it is, or isn't, a thing for you guys over there.
Of course, people will want to lower the cost they'll pay. If you can't prove that there have been oil changes on it, I negotiate as if they never have or do not trust their work. I would keep receipts of the oil and filter and just hope people trust that your knowledgeable and passionate about your car
Also, this car can keep a record of oil changes so, you can input them in the computer. But I think anyone can inter false information. Car fax, will insure a strong resale value.

Never trust only a jack when working under a car.
If a seal on that Jack starts leaking it could be catastrophic.

Hi there
Just bought my first car Lexus IS300
2016
Would I get a indicator on my dashboard telling me to change my oil?
Yes, it will say maintenance required when your next oil change is due

You should’ve mentioned the oil remover part you used. Sitting here waiting for autozone to deliver part. Smhh
Наразі дякую. Офігєть усе серйозно, мастильний фільтр катрідж як у тракові.
Is Julie afraid of oil? She begin the vid, and how far she is when you add oil. She stand all the way at the garage. Lol

If you do it yourself and keep records and receipts it has no effect on warranty or resale value in the USA.
Go girl!!!!

Hah! She did almost nothing.. Though, she did look good doing it.
She tried!

Next time please ask someone how to block car tires, because you will loose your head like this.
