A very sad and depressing movie, but as a fan of dystopian movies I love the unusual premise, the acting is great and the one-shot scenes(like the scene when Julian is killed) are just insanely well made. And the children laughing in the end feels so hopeful 🥰😭thank you for your reaction!
An incredibly deep and moving film. The cinatography and directing in this film is top notch, also. Some really amazing sequences in this movie. This is one of those films that just makes you think for a good long while after viewing. Great reaction, Nia!
Great reaction to a great, albeit perhaps not very uplifting film! As an old proghead, I appreciate the prog rock references in the film, such as including the prog pioneers King Crimson in the soundtrack and even recreating the album cover of Pink Floyd's "Animals"! 🥳 Incredible stunts and cinematography that deserves a standing ovation!
3:40 Funny you should say, that song is called Omgyjya-Switch7 by Aphex Twin and it came out in 2001! The movie makers just added a bunch of screaming on it to give it that extra bit of shock.
"If this becomes music in the future..." Oh, my sweet, sweet, innocent child. This has been music for 24 years. This is a remix of a track called "Omgyjya Switch 7" of the 2001 album Druqks by Aphex Twin, considered to be the mozart of electronic music for decades. Of course, you have to know to know.
Children Of Men is possibly one of my favorite films, albeit not the one I want to watch any casual day but it’s one of the most visual stunning and compelling movies ever made. Adored your reaction to it. A new subscriber.
One of the standout movies of a really good decade for film. I put Children of Men with There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men as the best films of the 2000s. I saw this totally blind, never having heard of it, in a movie theater and I was riveted from the opening scene. Great filmmaking, great acting, great characters, just a masterpiece.
It has been more than 30 years since I read the book this story is based on, I think, so I don't remember everything too well, but I seem to recall they do get on the ship, but it turns out the Human Project isn't any better than the rest of it. A very dark story, unfortunately. But Cuaron did an amazing job.
a wonderful, albeit sad film. nothing to do with the usual stories about superheroes in the apocalypse/post-apocalypse genre. in those years they made several more such films, which I recommend to you without hesitation: the road(2009),the day(2011),perfect sense(2011).
The cinematography in this film alone is captivating and the story is also. Yes it leaves lots of questions but in the end the humanity of the characters shine through
34:54-In normal war, kids and civilians are 'collateral damage"..but not that time..the baby made both sides stop fighting for just a few moments, note some of the soldiers were teary-eyed. Loved this top 100 G.O.A.T rated sci-fi film, but the ending... All Theo wanted was a story, and instead he wound up maybe saving mankind at the cost of his own life. Beautiful reaction, Nia! ( And I feel ya--it's too sad for me to watch twice, too.)
3:40 If by music of the future you mean a song from 2001 then... lol the song is Omgyjya-Switch7 by Aphex Twin with layered screams on top. Not my cup of tea tbh.
This is one of the best films to be produced so far this century

MAN DEPRESSIVE AF!!!! Not the movie I wanted to edit during the holidays 😂

The scene near the end, where everything goes quiet except for the baby crying, is one of the most beautiful scenes I have seen.

12:26 Nia's mind goes straight to that, lmao. 🤣
🤣 That was unexpected.
Omfg I am DYING
What kills me is how she catches herself a second later, lol.
Asking the important questions 😂
Poor Theo can't finish smoking a single cigarette 😕. Awesome reaction Nia!
😂 😂 good! His lungs are happier for it hahaha
Amazing movie Nia, great choice.
P.S. That deportation in this movie seems all too real now doesn't it :(.
Wish more people saw this and understood something about its message. Every child is a new world for someone.

I saw this in theaters when It came out and was so moved by it. Now 20 years later or so it seems like predictive programming
Yo it’s crazy that this isn’t that crazy any more

A masterpiece, and one of the very few movies that can move me to tears!
Man, how hopeless things felt, was boo-hooing while editing too
The "futuristic" music that he is listening to is Aphex Twin, british acid-electro from the 90's & early 2000's 👽🤖👾
perfect timing, I felt like rewatching scenes from this movie while someone reacted to it for the first time and here you are!
Wonderful film
Glorious Curls! Beautiful and springy! Good movie too.....
It’s a travesty that Clive Owen never played James Bond. I think he would’ve been a great Bond.

Masterpiece!

We need more people with your heart in this world.
@33:09 is where I started laughing. This isn’t a tragedy, this is a comedy!
The funniest theory about this film is that the rest of the world is fine and Britain is just like that.
The news reports and the amount of refugees, implies the rest of the world is actually worst.
One of the most powerful dystopian films.
Bazooka would have been a great name for a girl growing up in the apocalypse 😅
😂 true, in such a world it may not be as crazy
Really underrated movie, few things can really capture the feelings this one does
What the MothaLove! They really shot her like that fr!? This movie was Hulk-Squeezing My heart.
This is definitely in my top 3 dystopian movies. Amazing. It also heavily influenced the Last of Us which just makes me like it more.

I watched this the year it was released (2006) and only plucked up the courage to watch again I’m 2020.
Shanti Shanti Shanti... A hard film to watch. You handled it better than I did, certainly.
The cinematography in this film alone is captivating and the story is also. Yes it leaves lots of questions but in the end the humanity of the characters shine through
Yeah, also… pull my finger 😭

My favorite Christmas movie ;3
Classic 👌🏾😎

He no idea hah
That music was aphex twin, it already is our music
Damn I wanted to see your reaction to Syd getting hit with the car battery
This film I thought was ok better than what I was expecting
This movie hits too close for me now with you know who taking office post pandy and its time frame
Okay tds
@@MFZ0dd call it what you want. He will be president during the years this film takes place
I went to see this with my then girlfriend when it came out in the cinema. Huge mistake.
My friend took his (then) _German_ girlfriend to see Saving Private Ryan when it came out... Look, we all make mistakes, is my point.
Let's go legend
It is typical that tech bros and rightwing nutters watch dystopian movies and then think: that's an idea, we should do that
