I’m 47 and I still love eyeshadow. I rarely wear neutrals. I love color. I work in academia and the researchers are always mesmerized by my bright looks. 🌻💛
I'm with ya girl!!! I'm 58 and still love color!! I gave my grandson a going away party yesterday, he's gone I the army😢 and I wore orange and yellow eyeshadow!!
I'm sixty four and I still love colored eye shadow. I have my own RUclips channel called bons.Ageless beauty where I tell women all the time to what makes you happy
I’m 51, and I get compliments on my eyeshadow almost everyday! Younger people, and older people say they love it! (Maybe they are just being nice?, and I look like Mimi from drew carey, but I don’t care! I’m gonna die with shifty sparkly shadow on my lids 😂)
Essence has a dupe for the glow recipe drops. It’s called Hello Good Stuff Glow serum primer and I like it better than the glow recipe ones. They are not as oily! Way more affordable.
@@natdisneyfan74I wrote my reply before I read yours! I’m older, and never break out anymore!! But the glow recipe one causes those deep painful cyst like pimples on my old skin!! The essence is great!
I just subscribed! I came across your channel by accident and love your knowledge of color. Can you please do a look with the grey color. I would love to see how that looks! I bought this palette and there are so many haters for this palette. There are only a handful of people that have used this in their videos and all of them are so challenged they only thought to use white with the grey. Maddening! So glad I found this channel 💕
I wear matte eyeshadows often-just in the crease and outer corner and blend them towards and a little onto the lid but mostly leave the lid and inner corner bare with just some of my eyelid skin showing. And then I’ll do a dark shadow as a liner. I find this to be quite flattering and natural on my eyes but still gives me definition and pretty look to my eyes. As for eyeshadows being “out” I will still always enjoy a good palette, just as I have always loved blush long before they became trendy 😊
I am most impressed with the eyeshadow look you created!! I really, really want that palette but it is not in the budget right now. Maybe the fall/holiday sale will work out better. Stunning look!!
I don’t think it’s necessarily a dupe for the Glow Recipe, but Wet ‘n Wild makes a great hydrating serum primer with rose water and watermelon. It is scented, but not too heavily ( and I typically prefer unscented/fragrance free products). It’s very hydrating and super affordable! As a point of reference, I’m 54 with combo skin.
My kids are in their mid-twenties, and when they were teens, The Office was very popular. It was a favorite with my kids and their friends. Friends was also very popular. I loved re-watching these classics with my kids.
Hi! I’m so glad I found you! I recently turned 40 and I’ve been struggling with my makeup. It wants to lay in lines and I too would like to transition into more neutral eyeshadows. I always preferred bold eyes but now I’m looking for exactly this look! I’m going shopping this weekend and I’ll give this a try next week! Thank you! Also yes kids here are super office fans and I love it 😂
Beautiful natural look! I am loving a simple matte look lately- it’s always elegant. I still like to play with color, it makes makeup fun. 😊 I always love your outtakes, and your curls are doing amazing things!! Wish I could get mine to do the same.
Very nice products. I have my eye the Makeup by Mario nuetrals palette. You look very lovely with what products you used. Some what surprised you went all in on higher end products. I just can't afford everything I see right now. Great video Mandy. I always enjoy your videos.👍✔️💯❗
Essence makes a "hello good stuff" primer which I believe is a an alternative to the Glow Recipe. I love the color of the ND lip liner. That's a perfect MLBB color for me as the pigment of my lips lean more toward the purpley-mauvey side....which makes that a perfect color for contouring or over lining the lips. Sephora brand makes a color that I think is a spot on match called "bellflower." I can start shopping the Sephora sale tomorrow and on my list of things I want to pick up are that Makeup by Mario palette, a Haus Labs blush (either Hibiscus Haze or Pomelo Peach), and the Haus Labs concealer. I'm also planning to grab a few Sephora brand products: another shade of the lip stain and one of each of their new shiny lipsticks (which remind me of the YSL volupte shine and lippies of that type), plus a couple of their brushes and a dermaplaning razor (metal, comes in a kit with refill blades) that I've heard great things about. ❤❤❤

A little goes a long way with that concealer. Too much and it can crease and/or look cakey. I dab one dot under each eye at darkest spot, let sit, then use the Rare Beauty concealer brush and it is perfection (for me: dry skin, 52 years young) 😊. I don’t set it and it lasts all day and my under eyes don’t look dry or chalky at the end of the day, as they do with most concealers. The new Saie concealer is very smooth going on and never creases (again I just use one dot) - but my undereyes (near/ just under inner corner) can look a bit dry by the evening. ❤
I always start my blush higher up on my cheek bones. Right by my hair. So if it is too pigmented, then it won't show as much. And I've seen the new Mario pallet compares to Stone Cold Fox. It looks exactly the same. Hopefully the quality is better in the Mario pallet. And you should try What's Up Beauty eyeshadow pallets. They are stunning. Very vibrant, but you could make a toned down look with them as well. No one ever compliments your eyelashes.... They're so pretty and long.
I'm so tempted for that new Mario palette, but I have Gone Matte by Colourpop and they seem so close - but the Colourpop has many more options. I also have the Viseart Cool Neutrals palette so I REALLY don't need to add another....
I saw that video where Jen said that eyeshadow is out too!, and I was more than a little devastated! I’ve got thousands in eyeshadow, and will I look extra old if I don’t give it up a bit? I do think I’ll always wear enough to try and make my eyes look less hooded anyway.., but I love my sparkly things!
Highlighters… I’ve tried so many brands, I found ‘the one’! It’s pricey but worth it. Tom Ford’s Moodlight & Peachlight. Perfectly refined and beautiful.
I am so attracted to glitter, but always like myself more with all matte eye 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t own this Mario palette because I’m afraid I’ll stop using all of the other palettes I have 😂😂😂
I like a matte eye look. Very pretty and easy. I use all mattes and if I want shimmer, I use a highlighter and dark shadow as an eyeliner. U should try the Sephora highlight. It’s beautiful. The haus labs blush may be small, but u definitely don’t need to use much before it’s too much. I have one from the original packaging and I’ll never need to buy more unless I want a different color. If u like tubing mascara, I recommend the tarte tubing xl. Much better than the original. It’s the only mascara that I can use on both top and bottom lashes.
I’ve recently purchased some of the l.ys products and I love the packaging. I think it’s so pretty and I love the unique triangular shape. It looks very high end for a reasonable price. Going to try the cream blush next.
One more thought… eyeshadow is not out. I can do my entire face and leave the eyes for last and it just isn’t enough. I don’t look complete. The eyeshadow completes the entire look. Simple neutrals or shimmery glitters, a must. At any age!
As I’m aging… less is more for me. I love how your makeup looked more natural which is what I love. Eye shadow is nice. I wear L’Oréal foundations light/medium coverage and like keep it simple, the more I put on it seems make me look older so I love this look. Natural looking and beautiful. Also, thanks for giving dupes to higher end products as things nowadays are just so expensive. I appreciate that so much! Love your videos and content ❤❤
Have you tried the NARS soft matte concealer for hyperpigmentation yet? If not, definitely check it out. Covers mine great. Lots of shades. Wouldn’t recommend for under eyes though. Thank you for your videos. Love them!
I have the LYS bronzer and it does look different on the skin. Too orangey or warm for me. I really want to try the new NYX bronzers. I have to say the Maybelline Master highlighter 100 is fantastic. It lasts all day on you.
I think that price for that all matte palette is absurd 😮. I personally would never pay that price but that’s just my opinion ☺️. And speaking of gloss amounts in the tube…I just bought the Lawless lip gloss a few weeks ago, and it’s already almost gone 🤬 I bet I have only used this gloss like 12 freaking times. I was so mad the other day when I used it and noticed it’s almost gone. It *was my favorite lip gloss, but not anymore. I think I’ll try that Haus Labs gloss next
I l over the glow recipe products. Have been using their dew drops in my skincare routine. Since it can be used for either. A close option might be Essence good stuff watermelon primer. Only paid $4 for it.
I feel that generally primer is a step I can skip in my personal routine. I have dry skin so I use a Vitamin C serum, and/or hyaluronic acid plus a moisturizer/ SPF every day. So I don’t need an extra moisturizing primer. And I am lucky to have no pores so - for me, most primers are useless. And I am ok with make up lasting half day as I work from home. As a skin care junkie- I can skip on ONE step 😅
I primarily use mattes. If I use anything shimmery, it is low key, more of a satin. I ordered the Mario on the Sephora sale and I can't wait until it arrives.
All matte looks don't look the best on me, usually add a shimmer or satin, but maybe it depends on the shadows too. If I do color it's soft, bold and bright just doesn't suit me and makes me look older. I find myself going back to a minimal style though and sometimes only line my eyes. It works for me.
When I got married in 1997 (yup, I’m old!) I had MAC do my makeup and no shimmers were used. I’m sure I would have died if they had used a ‘frosted’ eyeshadow as we called them. It would have been ‘so disco’ and that wasn’t good. Now, I love a good satin or foil shadow and if I was younger I would use a more glittery shadow . It’s funny how things go in and out of fashion.
On the Glow Recipe Dew Drops -- I often hear they're used as a "primer" but it's a serum. I have a full morning routine of Vitamin C, serum, moisturizer. And I have combo/oily skin -- I'm assuming the Dew Drops are a step more than I need? If I do use primer, it's usually a mattifying or blurring formula. But I'm curious - am I missing something about the Dew Drops? THX!
I use it as an extra layer of moisture which makes my foundation go on better, especially if I put it on right before my foundation. I just keeps my foundation from looking cakey or clinging to dry patches.😁
I love your eyeshadow here! I'm looking for a lighter, natural look like this for my upcoming wedding. I'll be 60 and I dont want to look too done up in the pictures.
I thought the Glow Recipe is skincare, not specifically marketed as a “primer?” I’ve seen people sometimes use it prior to makeup for glow but I always applied it prior to spf. 🤷♀️
Is it just me or is this video pixilated or odd in some way? The look is beautiful, as always. I’ve been having a really hard time shade matching my skin lately, too. It’s frustrating because it seems like there are a million shade ranges out there now.
I didn't like LYS,Kosas or Catrice. They just didn't mesh with my skin. I think they're quality products. I have dry skin and it just didn't work. Out of all if them I think LYS worked the best

I bought the Unveiled SG palette because of you and now the Mario palette because of you. Love these subtle looks these days.
Essence has a dupe for the glow recipe drops. It’s called Hello Good Stuff Glow serum primer and I like it better than the glow recipe ones. They are not as oily! Way more affordable.
Yes I love this! I got a sample of the Glow Recipe one and it made me break out! And I am not prone to break outs!
I have both as well, and even tho I’m 51, for whatever reason the glow recipe breaks me out, and the essence one does not!

Yes, the office and friends are both making a resurgence with the kids.
Which concealer do you use for the hyperpigmentation marks?
Makeup trends evolve. In another decade, we'll be troweling the eyeshadows on again 😂. But as an older gal, I'm all about one and done.
Im 60 and I wear matt eye shadow only. Soarkle and bright colors look ridiculous on me. Im blonde/blue and fair mature skin. I have to wear a primer.
