I love mine! My teacher, who plays a Hans Hoyer kruspe, gave my horn a test drive, and said it was an excellent instrument. :) Get yourself a left and right hand guard from leather specialties.
Robert, first of all YOU have a wonderful sound! I look forward to hearing about where your music takes you in the future! Secondly, I have had a very similar reaction to, and experience with, the YHR 671D ever since I first tried one over 5 years ago. I have played mine professionally for years (Maryland Symphony, Baltimore Symph, Orlando Philharmonic, Venice Symph, etc. & several Concerto & Recital jobs). I want to try their 871 & 869 next. If you try either of those, I would be eager to hear your opinions on them. Thank you for taking the time and energy to make & post this video for all of us to learn from.

Would you say the playability is "easy"?
It’s very easy to play! Such a delight!
Great video! Could you review the Yamaha 871?
TRush thank you! It just so happens that my roommate has an 871, I can ask them to borrow it for a few days.
Robert Levine an 871 is what I play on and it is outstanding!
TRush I have a few other videos I wanted to do before diving into other standard style instruments. I’ll do my best to get one of the 871 up soon.
TRush here is the Yamaha 871 video I got around to finally!
