My mom is the one who dog got attacked and this woman was a moron. She honestly felt like she wasn't responsible for these dogs and brushed off my dogs injuries. It was so frustrating and took everything in me to not show up at her front door
Calling animal control doesnt always help. I had someone in my neighborhood who had a vicious pit constantly go after people. Several neighbors also started arming themselves just so they could go out to their cars in the their driveways. I called animal control and they said they could do nothing. Fortunately for me they were renters. In my state a landlord can be held accountable and sued if they are made aware of a dangerous situation their tenants are causing. I called the landlord who laughed and said she has told them to keep that dog up but there was nothing she could do about it. Until I brought up that I was recording the conversation (allowed in my state) and now that she was aware of the dangerous dog, I and the neighbors would be holding her accountable if that dog attacks someone because the law allows us to sue the owner of the dog OR the landlord. She stopped laughing. The renters were evicted the next month.
The defendant flat out said “its not my property and not my responsibility” (re:the dogs) and then was taken aback when judge ripped into her ?? Like watch what you’re saying
This defendant is almost the exact definition of a "Karen" - completely entitled and unwilling to admit to any personal responsibility. She says "they weren't my property or my responsibility" (about the dogs) RIGHT AFTER saying, "I was moving into his house", so apparently, she decided that the HOUSE was hers, but that the dogs that lived in it WEREN'T - must be nice to live in her little world. The sad part is, had the defendant paid the vet bills when first presented with them, this plaintiff probably wouldn't have come after her for pain and suffering and lost wages. i.e., she ended up paying more than TWICE what she could have because of her own stubbornness and entitlement.
She actually referred to them as hers before she said they were lol. When she said the name of one she saw on the street and JM asked who that was, “one of MY pit bulls” then seconds later “they’re not mine”. Girl
I'm not one given to profiling people, but I couldn't help myself from thinking, "Well there's a heck of a Karen" when she walked in with that look on her face, and her behavior justified my first impression. Goodness. I hope those two dogs get a loving home and not euthanized, she doesn't seem prepared or willing to properly take care of them.
Well, she doesn’t actually have to pay it, that’s why she went on the show. The show pays it for her, and whatever judgement is against her is subtracted from the fee she is paid for appearing on the show. So she actually profited off of not paying, as she was given money from the show as a reward.
The judge stated that she didn’t think the ladies bite (open wound) would take a week to heal. She is a judge and the lady is a nurse! Sometimes this judge forgets to stay in her lane imo.
💯% believable that a HOSPITAL would NOT let a nurse work with an open, draining wound on her hand. Exposure risk for her from patients and towards every patient she cares for.
You're exactly right, she could not with that type of injury. The wound would have to be wrapped and she would need to wear a glove over that hand until it was completely healed. Since she also is required to wash her hands in between every patient, she would be spending the entire day changing her own dressing. She can't put a glove on that type of injury and leave it on, only changing it in between patients. Her hand will sweat and give her a high probability of infection. Puncture wounds are also very painful, and nerves can be damaged, which evidently is what happened. I wish she would have told the judge the complete damage, she should have been awarded more than $1,000.00 for pain and suffering, she could still end up needing further treatment and I don't think the judge took that into consideration. I know owners can't sue for pain and suffering for their dog but I think that rule is ridiculous. How many dog owners have an injured dog and have to just watch them, knowing that they are in extreme pain and that affects the owner also. If you love your pet, then them getting hurt causes pain and suffering not only to them, but to the owner who has to care for them and feel helpless because you know they're in pain and that there's nothing you can do to help them. That's true pain and suffering...
I love how she said its not the pitbull, it's the owner. It's very true. She clearly doesn't care about the dogs. She should give them to someone that'll take care of them.
It’s not the owner that runs out and bites the neck of the prey that they see in a small dog. It’s the pit . Trained or not. They have genetic prey characteristics.
@@dizziechef9502 all dogs do. Not just specificity pitbulls. My aunts chihuahua would go after everything that walked by him. And, all his toys he'd get the head off of them. So no honey, all dogs have that. And, in this case it is the owners fault.
Holy shite!! The defendant has more audacity than The Fast & Furious has sequels. She really couldn't see what the issue was, not because of understanding, but due to narcissism & entitlement... what a piece of work.
The plaintiff is very respectful and truthful I am glad she sued the defendant because what the defendant did was very irresponsible by state law if a dog bites a person their owner is responsible . I am glad the plaintiff took off work to deal with the wound because in reality if she gets that infected it can do serious damage.
I love how these defendants change their defense as things get shot down. First it’s not her dogs. Next she never gave her an itemized list. Next she says it must not be bad because she didn’t go to the closest vet.
It doesn't matter if workers left the gate open or not the dogs were in her yard and got out and she is guilty no question about it. It was her responsibility to close the gate back up. The 2 Pit bull dogs are lucky that they did not do as much damage as they did.
That's a very generic statement...I assume based on the fact that's all the PC will show you. The news talks about the pit bull attacks, not the others. They're a bigger, stronger dog, so they can do more damage, of course. But I'd want my bills paid if my dog was attacked by any other breed.
"they're not my responsibility" so what, is your brother supposed to come back from the dead and take responsibility?! The EFF! "She didn't come and show it was so severe!" *Had itemized vet bill*
Pit owners are very similar: denial, irrelevant questions, serious lack of understanding responsibility, a little pouty, smiles. Haven't we been explaining what pit owners should and shouldn't do for....15+ years?
You sound silly! Do you know every Pitbull owner in the world? Cos I don't know you and I have two. They are always muzzled when they're out (even though they have never bitten once in 7yrs) unless they're at work as therapy dogs in the local hospice for terminal patients to have some comfort in their last days. They are fully insured (personally and public liability), always leashed....always! And I have gates at all my doors so they can't get out accidentally. It’s so easy to be a responsible pet owner.
Dogs have been bred to have certain traits to do certain jobs. You can train them all you want , but genetics and instincts will still be there. Border collies will herd their people if don’t have sheep or cows to work with. Terriers will dig holes because they need to get those burrowing moles. Retrievers will find sticks, balls, stuffed animals , etc if they aren’t retrieving for a hunter. Dogs , like pit bulls , were bred to be pain tolerant, muscular with broad heads and large mouths. Yes, they can be sweet and docile , but their genetics and instinctive traits can result in injury or death if the dog is triggered by a sound, smell or movement. They are built to cause damage and being pain tolerant means they will hold on or continue “fighting” even if they’re being hit with objects. If you have more than one , pack mentality is triggered. It’s the nature if canines. That’s why it’s so important to maintain control by having a secure yard, strong leashes and an able bodied human if you choose a breed or mix breed with the capability to cause severe injury or death. There are many breeds with similar traits . Genetics is so important, not just who raises the dog or trains the dog. It might be politically correct to say “it’s not the dog, it’s how they’re trained or raised“, but that’s not always true. ETA: Pit bulls were initially bred to be bait dogs for bulls and to protect hunters from bear. ETA: Pit bulls are involved in more fatal attacks on people than the next 9 breeds involved , combined.
Omg I've been saying this for so long!! So tired of people being delusional about their dogs. The best "trained" dog is still an animal! You can never guarantee an animals behavior. Ever. Not only was everything you said about their traits and genetics CORRECT, but you never know if something is going on with your dog too, maybe it's sick or something going on in the brain that can be altering it's behavior. You never know! Training and treating them right only goes so far.
@ Just Another Smith, Here! Here! I don't know where the thinking changed through the years as far as canine characteristics as opposed to how they are trained. You are correct about the characteristics, we had a Terrier that dug, and dug. Built a $3000 (At that time approx 27 years ago) chain link fence, the bugger still managed to get out! My husband had to dig under it and place cement blocks in order to prevent him from digging. People need to do their research if they are purchasing a specific breed, to see if the characteristics are something they can abide, and manage at the same time as they are training their pooches!!
@@dellahicks7231 You really loved that dog!! Thank you for your insight . It really is important to understand the behaviors you might have to deal with. So often people like the way a certain breed looks or they want the breed that’s popular at the time.
My friend had a pit bull that he trained for years. That is the only pit bull I have ever trusted. You didn't dare show it attention or it would get in your face and lick you to death. I never saw that dog mean or aggressive in any way. He loved kittens. He would get his nose under there body and flip them in the air. He wouldn't open his jaws at all to those kittens. It's like he knew his teeth were sharp. He died of cancer. The best dogin the world.
@@justanothersmith6012 Isn't that the case? It never ceases to amaze me how people rush into purchasing a dog. My husband did a years worth of research before we bought our current German Shepherd pup, and we'd had two in the past! He studied lineage, temperament etc, until we decided on which breeder to go with. We knew what type of dog we were buying, with the characteristics that run in her family, never mind the breed in general. Covid sure has left a trail of dogs that people bought, not understanding what they were getting into!
Yeah, so annoying. I've only been attacked and afraid of little yapping dogs, chihuahuas and such. Most of the time, if treated right and trained, pitbulls are very docile. Loyal and protective, though, so the owners need to keep them safe and others around them safe. Makes me mad... as a pit bull owner. But I take the same precautions with my lab/husky/mix breed female.
Jesus. That crowd of people are exactly the reason there are so many attacks. Breeds have characteristics if u cant or won't accept that PBs need different training and care, then frankly u need jail time if the dog gets out and bites.
She herself said it's numb, that tells me , she has no pain, and it looks like a booboo, a paper cut would probably hurt more. I think the judge could see that she was milking it
7:17 Hold on, not Judge Millian, dear. We have to get over a brother dying in less than two months, but a dog being attacked is worthy of sympathy for a year. What?
I don't think she meant it that way. What she meant was the lady made it seem like her brother died two days ago, when in fact he died two months prior. Not that she should be done grieving, just that her getting over his death should have nothing to do with what happened with the dogs. When she said my brother just died etc etc, she made it seem like it was relevant to whappened and it had nothing to do with it.
@@fjccommish the case had to do with a dog attack. She gave her condolences about her brother. She used it as an excuse. She gave every excuse in the book, and there is none. You own a dog, they attacked and hurt someone else or their dog, you are responsible. She tried using everything to get out of paying. And yeah she made it seem like her brother died that weekend and she was dealing with his death and that was not the case. Yes she is still grieving, but that does not excuse her not properly securing the dogs, and then refusing to pay the bill. All this crap about the bill not properly detailing what was done etc etc. It was one excuse after another....
Dog attacks and fights are traumatic. I learned from Cesar Milian that when dogs fight never to put one's hand anywhere near their heads as this increases the likelihood of being bitten. instead, you go behind the aggressor dog and pull their hind legs out from under them and hold them off the ground. This disables the dog and puts an end to the altercation immediately. Unfortunately, I've had to do this a couple of times and through it I can vouch that this technique is 100% effective. You just have to think quickly and clearly in the moment and not be scared. Just go for it. It works!
@@BeccasaurousRex270 Every single dog can be lifted that way. And it's 100% effective. The dog literally has no ground to stand on. End of fight. You shouldn't comment on things you don't know about.
This doesn't work every time. If the dog still has leverage with both front paws it can still hang on and attack. Many dogs can hang on by just the strength of their jaw with no paws on the ground. My dog growing up was attacked by a dog in a Petsmart, they tried beating the other dog on the head. They tried this wheelbarrow trick, lifting up the hind limbs, didn't work. The only thing that finally worked was someone choking the dog. Lifting up the hind limbs can work at times. I have seen it work as well, but it is not 100% effective. The only thing that is 100% effective, in a dog fight is to cut off oxygen supply. Collar on the dog, lift up and twist. No collar, wrap arm/hands around neck and start squeezing HARD. Don't want to get your arms/hands close--- get a leash, wrap around neck of aggressor dog, put part that attaches to collar through leash handle, pull tight. Brain can only keep the dog standing so long without oxygen. Choke until just as the dog passes out, then release, the dog will be fine and the other dog can get away. That is, if you are looking for a method that is not lethal to the aggressor dog. Otherwise, knives end dog fights really quickly too.
@@KayTee979 You are correct. It doesn't work every time. But more often than not it does, and is worth a try as preventive measure to placing one's hands near both dogs' heads who are engaged in attacks.
This happened to my dog. A pit TRIED to attack it. It grabbed onto my dogs leg, and before it had a chance to do anything else, I shot it multiple times... I love animals, but I care about my dog way more than yours.
Definitely could’ve been handled differently you could’ve hit it with something before resorting to killing it right away. Very sad this is the American way of thought. Shoot first think later
@@lianna4933 nah, my dog is way more important to me than that persons last dollar. I’m not gonna let my dog get more messed up because I wanted to be “nice”. Keep your dog on a leash
@@lianna4933it’s really sad that you’d defend the pit bulls that cannot be contained. Do you live under a rock or what? If a dog is attacking my dog, I’m gonna make it stop one way or the other snowflake.
11:20 as much as I think all dogs should be treated equally, I'm not gonna ignore the fact that a Pitbull roaming IS more dangerous than other dogs just for the fact that Pitbull's jaws lock, unlike other dogs making them more dangerous and deadly...it's not their fault but it is a fact
Pitbulls do not have a lock jaw mechanism, they are bred to be determined and aggressive so they hold on and dont let go. That's how people made them. People made them this way so they're mentally/emotionally unstable unfortunately. That's why they use them for fighting. Not all but it depends on the dogs family history which the average person does not have. Humans made each breed of dog what it is through breeding and demand. Bulldogs used to be the pitbulls of their day, strong and athletic and fit until we decided to make them short and fat and now they have health issues, just an example.
Just a little advice for fellow dog owners, walkers, sitters, etc... hopefully you won't ever need it but being prepared is ideal. If your dog is ever being attacked, please try to NOT SCREAM, DON'T FREAK OUT. I know how asinine that sounds, it seems almost impossible when the creature you love is in such a horrible situation, but that screaming and frantic energy can make it much worse. If you have to yell for help, do it a big, loud, as calm and firm as possbile "HELP PLEASE!", but screeching, crying, etc... only adds to the frenzy. Again, I realize this sounds insane, like "lady, you expect me to be able to chill while my dog is being mauled?!" well... chill, no, control yourself for the sake of your dog, hopefully. At least make it a prepared situation, sadly like so many things in our lives, especially us ladies, we have to prepare and think of what to do & not to do, this is one of those things . Lastly, if legal in your state, carry Pepper Gel with you, to use BEFORE the attack, to fend off the attacking dog. Using it during the fight is too risky and dangerous, possibly hitting your dog, you, etc... This is just my experience (professionally and personally) and trying to be helpful, nothing more.
@@nevermindlaughs Just say it’s above your comprehension, it’s ok. If you truly didn’t care, you wouldn’t have taken the time to comment. Sadly, it reminded you of your short comings so you had to go on attack… I hope for and your negativity that you work on that. Have the day you deserve. 😗
That makes sense, prepare before anything happens. I feel like so many of these cases wouldn't be in court if people had been proactive instead of reactive. What did you mean using Pepper Gel before the attack though? You mean if you THINK a dog is about to attack? But, my dogs would go crazy barking if the smoke alarms went off in the house because they're connected and would all go off at the same time. I think it hurt their ears so they'd bark and sometimes before I could get them outside, they'd start going at each other. Got along at all other times. So not screaming and riling them up worse really does make sense.
@@shannontrent3702 Yes, if a dog or dogs are running at or circling your dog(s) spraying pepper gel even in their direction (due to their sense of smell being so strong, it’s not always necessary to spray in their face) can fend them off. I never want to hurt a dog or recommend something that would, but if it means the difference between a dog being attacked, it’s necessary and pepper gel is temporary. The smoke alarm is a big trigger for dogs, the high pitch along with the stress that some people let off, it can “rile them up”, same with screaming, chasing, tug of war or other competitive activities, it can cause sparring or fights.
Totally fair she will understand later on in life when it happens to her in a different way but she’ll now hope she reaches out to them and apologize to then better late than never ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yep. And the little crowd outside seriously blame the "training" when a pit snaps & mauls their owner or a family member or a neighbor's pet. "They failed at training the dog." No, they're a victim of the "it's all in how they're raised" BS. They believed it. Most likely the 2 pits that attacked the plaintiff's dog were raised/trained to be good family pets, or the defendant would not have kept them after their owner died. Pit bulls are responsible for over 90% of fatal attacks of pets, horses, & farm animals. No matter how they're raised, at any time something can trigger their genetics...which usually overtake training. It's not the dog's fault. Or the training. It's their genetics--intentionally manipulated by humans to be unstoppable killing machines to other animals but meant to be gentle with people. Every once in a while there's an exceptional pit who is able to resist & overcome their genetics. Those rare pits are a testament to how wonderful dogs are in general.

Some try to breed these behavioural problems out but many back door breeders of pits aren’t doing that. And I’d bet most pitbulls are bred by randos. And those pits fill up shelters all over the country. Some shelters lie about a pitbull and claim it’s just a “mixed” breed even when it’s clear as day there’s pit. Even sometimes a full on pitbull. Yeah my aunt had a chihuahua when I was a kid. I hated that dog. It bit everyone the vicious little sh*t. I love dogs had them all my life. But I'd take a pitbull over one of those overgrown rats any day.
A small dog might bite too, but the damage that pitbulls and other big dogs can do is more severe. I love all dogs, including pitbulls, in fact: I like the bigger, stronger dogs even better. But you do need to be albe to handle them. Everyone knows that when dogs like pitbulls bite, their instinct is to never let go. Once those jaws close, it’s almost impossible to get them open again, unless the dog lets go by it self.
YEP! If I'm not familiar with a dog and it's roaming the neighborhood, I treat it the same, no matter the breed. I'll be cautious and watch its reactions before approaching. Any dog can be vicious. I'm not just sticking my hand in a dog fight and asking somebody else to pay the bill because of my profession either.
My neighbor has a pit bull who is treated fabulous by her owners and attacked my lab twice. Pit has no issues with humans but has attacked several dogs in my neighborhood and owner makes excuses EVERY time. 1st attacked on mine she actually said maybe she just wanted 2 play. I myself have been attacked by a Pitt bull and I DO NOT blame the animal I blame the owners. I've had a malinois who did not do well with small dogs and I was vigilant with her. I know my malinois could be and often was a bully 2 small dogs, I make no excuses I just did everything I could 2 make sure she never had the chance 2 bully a small dog.

At the end of the video, Harvey is talking about the fact that animal control will conduct an investigation for a situation. They do not conduct a very thorough investigation. I had two dogs, one black one tan. One is a Belgian malinois and the other was a German Shepherd. They were informed that one of my dogs had bit a high school girl. They discovered where I lived, because they followed me in the evening on a walk. I do not walk my dogs in the evening, I walked them in the morning. Also, they could not even tell me what color dog bit this girl. No investigation, but my dogs were both quarantined for a week.
Do you only walk those big dogs once a day? I'm out for 3-4 hours a day with my presa canario, bulldog and pitty and they still have way too much energy😂 You must have a big yard, my gardens tiny & my dogs would drive me up the wall if they were stuck in there or the house all day!
And if you live in fort Worth Texas and you call animal control they will come in 4 or 5 moths, and then they will open an investigation, so give it between a year to year and a half for animal control to conclude the investigation about an animal being loose in your neighborhood
It’s the dogs nature. It’s a scientific fact that certain dogs have a natural tendency to act a certain way. Pit bulls, Rottweilers and Dobermans are a few of them. Pitts have a bad rap as far as breeding to fight but the reason is their naturally the best due to how they’re wired.
@@anonymouse9833 Yes , dog breeding for certain traits is definitely based on science , genetics. Dogs breeds are “created” for a certain purpose. Much goes into their body type, their nature, such as territorial traits for breeds known to guard property. There are breeds that were developed to herd other animals, and breeds developed to guard farm animals . There are breeds developed to hunt rodents , even through burrows in the ground. Breeds to retrieve waterfowl for hunters and breeds who tolerate cold water or deep snow. Science is behind them all. Breeds developed to fight are strong, muscular , pain tolerant with wide , strong jaws. Pit bulls were developed to fight. They can be sweet ,but they’re built to cause damage. That’s just a fact.
Dogs are not artificially programmed robots so organic genetics have some degree of environmental influence. Even human behavior is largely controlled by genetics and education (training) is used to modify actions to conform to society.
I have a pitbull, yes he is super friendly and lovable, but he is also clocking 95 pounds and barely a year old. Basically all muscle. He got out the gate once at a weak spot and I had to literally put the neighborhood on alert and called the pound, they actually found him rollin in dirt acting like a normal pup, but it was still 1 hour of panic. when I walk him and the kids in the neighborhood try to pet him, I have to put bass in my face and say "NO! You can't pet him". I also use a harness and a collar on him and THREE leashes. Sounds like a lot, but if you ever walked a dog that pulls and they have broken leashes, you will understand why its important to have backup collars and leashes while walking them. It helps, trust me.

I’ve seen so many comments where people say the court pays the lawsuits, so what am I missing here? Does the court pay it then they go after the defendant? I’m confused
A lot of these cases are out of principle so they're genuinely mad that they lost. Also because of the funding formula the show uses, a defendant who loses is going to get less money out of the participant fund than a defendant who wins.
The defendant is going to take the pits to the pound. It'll be better for the dogs that way. The plaintiff was in "survival mode" because of a puncture wound on a finger ? Good grief.
Better for the dogs as long as it is a no-kill shelter, since pit bulls are one of the hardest breeds to adopt. They have a bad reputation and people assume they're 'born to kill'. 🙄
I’m a nurse. She can work with a puncture wound. She can bandage it and wear gloves. When I was bitten by a cat I wrapped mine and taped a glove finger around it so I always had it water proof. They’re not going to send you home because of a bite.
Depends on the hospital. hospital here you cannot work with patients with an open wound. Only place that may be ok that is visible is a bandage on the ear. anywhere else nope not happening.
People always ask if pitbulls are more dangerous and there is a lot of bites by that breed.... I am a Pitt owner and my dog is the sweetest dog HOWEVER, in a situation where my dog doesn't know anyone or another animal ..... he very well could do a lot of damage. Dogs bite. There are mean dogs in every breed. The difference is you don't ever hear about a poddle or golden killing a child or doing serious harm to a person. Pitts do have the ability to really do a lot of harm. And that is the difference. And again it's not saying anything about the breed at all.... other than when you know you have a dog that can really do harm in a scared situation, for the safety of everyone including that dog...be more careful.
That's what a responsible owner does✌🏽❤️ Can never understand why people campaign to ban breeds but never think to just test & licence the owners? A miniature poodle bit my wrist years ago, clamped on and almost severed my artery so I've stuck with big dogs from then, those little yappers terrify the life outta me, my Presa canario and my pitty😂
She made it that the dogs belonged to someone else. Just admit that they are yours, since they live there, and you have had them for all of their doggie lives. I have defendants like this one. They believe just letting the roam, nothing will happen.
It's not like Poodles and small breeds do not roam the neighborhood, its just that, 1. People tend not to notice them as much 2. If they do, they are not as fearful of them as they are large breeds. We have three Chihuahuas from the house across the street, constantly escaping and running loose. People think they are adorable, and they let them roam until the owners corral them. If our two dogs got loose, a German Shepherd pup, and our Heinz '57 rescue, the neighbors on our block recognize them, but one or two blocks down, they would be on the phone immediately for pick-up. As responsible dog owners, it is on you to understand what breeds you can handle. Too often we have seen people buy/adopt dogs thar are just too powerful for them to handle. Sad as it might be to relinquish them or adopt them out, it's better than the alternative!
We have a toy poodle and a basset/beagle mix (Charlie passed away in 2020). The two of them got out of the fence while people fixing our home left gate and door open. They were found blocks from our home and taken to animal control. They were lucky nothing happened to them and we only got into trouble for not having them licensed.
What's unusual about still grieving a sibling after only a couple months? I'm still mourning my favourite burger from the local burger joint after it was discontinued last year 🍔 people cope with grief differently. Sheesh.
pit bull owners almost never keep their dogs contained, on leash. they bring them to dog parks full of potential victims, when attacks occur they often refuse to take responsibiity.
Where did you read that BS? Bet you've never even been in a dog park your whole life😂 Not saying it doesn't happen but saying it's all owners and always pitbulls makes you sound silly.
My 105# mom had a 100lb Akita for 13 yrs and had total control of her at all times.she was well mannered, trained because my mom read up about the breed, talked to Akita owners, trainers, before she got her.then she stayed consistant in exercise, socialization, and mom was the alpha.never did the dog pull her off her feet, get away from her or attack other dogs.i was so impressed by my mom's training and knowing about the breed.mom never took the Akita for granted and was always paying attention when she walked her.
Feel so bad for all injuries that the plaintiff had to suffer and hopefully she will recover, but such "doggie rivalries" don't just happen out of the blue and there usually is a long or maybe short history there somewhere. people are responsibe to keep the dogs under their watch but they are also the ones who could train them the wrong way.
This is my mom and my dog and this was out of nowhere! My dog cowered from others dogs and was the most spoiled, pampered princess lol she had no idea how to defend against one but two!
You are absolutely wrong with your comment about "doggie rivalries." Pit bulls attack ALL THE TIME out of the blue. THAT is exactly what makes them so dangerous.

When owning a pit, or any big breed (dalmations, german sheppards, dobermans, rottweilers, etc. Even some medium breed dogs have these same tendencies, and small dogs get lucky because their size counters their attitude more often than not) you have to be realistic about them. They are sweet, loyal to a fault, and very very smart. I can totally believe the gate being opened by the dog after witnessing mine, who is half pitty and half st. Bernard, who was super excited to go play with another dog (got out and toodled the street with the smaller, no violence, and ended up jumping in a neighbors car and was just chillin til we had a knock at our door.... talk about freaked out) so he hopped up and pounced the gate until the u-latch twisted sideways and the gate opened...We had since chained the gate and put up signs to avoid any issues in the future. Point is, because I know I'm probably rambling, when you have a dog of any kind with those personality traits, you have to be aware and take responsibility for the prevention of any accidents... any dog owner should do their research on their breed. It's a lot of work, but that's our responsibility as pet owners. This isn't just limited to pits, but because of their size and traits, they get a bad reputation more than others.
A dog will get shot if it comes at me or my dogs. Period. A pit bull Off leash or a GSD , Rottie, or other dog big enough to hurt my little dogs., is dead in my neck of the woods.
WHAT? The defendant starts with 'they weren't my dogs', but she took them on after her brother died, so they are hers. As for the judge demeaning the plaintiff having to take a week off work, is low because she is a nurse, and a dog bite carries a lot of infection, how would the judge feel being nursed by a nurse with an oozing, gaping open wound?...
The city got rid of our Animal Control, they didn't want to pay a person full time anymore. How about that for taking care of citizens? It isn't like we weren't paying his salary through our taxes.

Well a dog can’t belong to a dead guy. She owns the dogs.
This was a very fair verdict. If I had dogs and workers were coming in and out I would make sure to have them locked in a bedroom

She claimed that but didn't substantiate it.
This women sustained nerve damage and she got less than 2,000. Outrageous . JM is the stingiest jour of all the judges by far.
The judge stated that she didn’t think the ladies bite (open wound) would take a week to heal. She is a judge and the lady is a nurse! Sometimes this judge forgets to stay in her lane imo.
cover the wound! True, open wound is not allowed but a covered wound is allowed. And yes...I am a nurse
@@dorothyjaques74 She was told not to close it up.
💯% believable that a HOSPITAL would NOT let a nurse work with an open, draining wound on her hand. Exposure risk for her from patients and towards every patient she cares for.
💯 agreed. Plus everybody heals differently!!
Not only that, anyone who has to work with their hands primarily, knows it would hurt like crap to even attempt to after being bitten by a dog.
I love how she said its not the pitbull, it's the owner. It's very true. She clearly doesn't care about the dogs. She should give them to someone that'll take care of them.

You can see the fatty tissue in that wound on her finger.
That is DEEP. Well worth $2000, or even more, for pain and suffering.
News flash... no one can play outside if you have dogs roaming free. The nerve of some people...

It works!
It’s only effective if you can lift the dog. Some dogs though that won’t even stop them from attacking

That's a huge myth
Pitbulls do not have a lock jaw mechanism, they are bred to be determined and aggressive so they hold on and dont let go. That's how people made them. People made them this way so they're mentally/emotionally unstable unfortunately. That's why they use them for fighting. Not all but it depends on the dogs family history which the average person does not have. Humans made each breed of dog what it is through breeding and demand.
Little advice from one RUclipsr to another,
Way to much advice getting handed out on RUclips, nobody cares.
Totally fair she will understand later on in life when it happens to her in a different way but she’ll now hope she reaches out to them and apologize to then better late than never ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Its always pit bulls then the owners are always jerks about the damage their dogs cause.
I noticed that also. Why is that? It's like there's a certain type of person that gets a pit bull. Not always but a lot

The animal owners are the problem not the animals themselves. Learn to take complete care and control of your animals at all times otherwise don't own them.

For the first time I agree with you
Amen... I am rehoming my puppy because after much consideration there is no way I can train, take proper care and give a full bred German Shepard what he will need. I'm not as young as I used to be. Luckily he is going to a home where they have a German Shepard already and he will get the proper everything he needs. I'm gonna stick to my little terrier/Chihuahua mixes.
That is so sad, I'm really sorry to hear this, but you did what was best for the dog and not yourself which is admirable. Good luck with everything 🍀🤞🌠
Absolutely!
In my state, if you are harboring an animal and providing care, then you are the owner and have the obligations of an owner.
Pit bull owners always have an excuse.

I love that Marilyn and Lucy were roaming the neighborhood and had learned how to unlock gates. They must have really had it in for the Plaintiff's dog to hatch a plot like that! 😂 Also, those people on the street are totally ignorant. "Oh, no, a pitbull roaming the streets is no worse than my poodle doing the same." Uh, okay. Except pitbulls are vicious attack animals. No matter who takes care of them.
You’re extremely ignorant on the topic of dogs. I could explain to you why and how if you’re interested…believe me it’s a common misconception. Unfortunately it’s just a wrong and damaging narrative.
A pitbull will absolutely do more damage than most dogs. They were bred to fight bulls and bears.
Judge clearly doesn't know about open wounds and nursing.
It’s funny when the comments say the exact same thing the judge says during the case.
I can tell Judge Millian is Cuban. She can get real loud, real quick.
I get that the defendant was in grief mode over her brother, but she took on the responsibility of his dogs, so she should have coughed up the money for the bills and thereby avoided the lawsuit.
I'm really glad the puppy is on the mend, as well as its owner.
Kinda Rude of the Judge to act like you brother died in August this is already October...bro! But that being said that defendant is a POS
Who would want to got to any job with an open wound and yes you do have yo cate for a dog that has meds and drains
I took that as "you had time to re-home the dogs"
Those ladies outside are wrong. A sweet female owner who loved her pit bull and he loved her. He attacked his owner and killed her. He wasn’t abused. He was treated with love. But he attacked her.
Most of the time the street people seem to be from another realm.
Yeah, folks like to say "it's how they're raised" but that's a lie. It's genetics. Something triggers the genetics & they snap. Time bomb.
@@JamieM470 yep. Kids, old ladies, regular adults, cats, other dogs.
So many instances of people posting and playing up how cute and how wrong everyone is about Pitbulls and then later on their sweet pit kills grandma, or the kitten in a picture, or another small dog, or rips half a kid’s face off.
They’re just the sweetest! They were bred to be this way. So it’s peoples fault but not individuals. It was the creation of the breed itself that was the issue.
They can’t get people to adopt these things because they’re dangerous. And people learn it all the time.
No amount of cute pictures will change that. Like gluing a flower and putting a kitten next to a rocket launcher. That doesn’t make it safe for the whole family
I love when people tel stories about tel life situations with 0 proof, evidence, facts, references etc etc
It’s just so refreshing to have al such a solid statement made on such solid ground lolololololol
He attacked her because he wasn't being fed enough or she wasn't such a sweet lady, how do you even know 'he was treated with love', where you there 24/7?? I've had pitbulls for 7yrs, they work at the local hospice with terminal patients to bring them some comfort in their last days. Granted, they are muzzled when we are out but that's mostly for other people's comfort (the kind of assholes who own Jack Russells and other little dogs that they let run wild off the leash who then come up to MY dogs, who are on leashes, try to attack THEM & somehow it's still my fault!?!) It's a shame people like you are so ignorant against this breed, I was mauled by a poodle who's owner was useless years ago but I don't go around wanting poodles banned🙄
Bravo to the plaintiff- she had her stuff together 👍
I don't know Harvey.. I've been bit a lot more times by little yippy chihuahuas and cats that bark than pit bulls. That being said, some dogs no matter the breed just aren't right in the head and will bite.
I have a chihuahua and he bites strangers. Hes little and cute so people want to pet him. We constantly ask people not to approach him. Hes cute. Hes little but hes a rescue. People act so rude. Im being responsible. His teeth are sharp! Hes always on a leash and never left outside. Admire from afar.
@@queenbee3647 Yeah happen to me lot with mine. My little dog scares me more than big dogs sometimes.
The persons saying "if pitbulls aren't trained and taken care of or abused..." Shut up. Animals are animals. Shoot a rabbit or hamster will bite you regardless just because.....they are animals
Right. I laughed and thought to myself "this is why we have pit bull cases" smh
That's the truth. The meanest dog I ever had was my boy in my PFP. A Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. Lol. I had two big breed dogs before, one German Shepard/Chow and a German Shepard/Pitbull mix. But of course it was the little one that was the ahole. LMAO.

AND EVENTUALLY.....PUT DOWN
And if you live in fort Worth Texas and you call animal control they will come in 4 or 5 moths, and then they will open an investigation, so give it between a year to year and a half for animal control to conclude the investigation about an animal being loose in your neighborhood
the people outside saying pitbulls are ok roaming are nuts!
no dogs are ok roaming free but pitbulls are dangerous, the figures dont lie
It’s the dogs nature. It’s a scientific fact that certain dogs have a natural tendency to act a certain way. Pit bulls, Rottweilers and Dobermans are a few of them. Pitts have a bad rap as far as breeding to fight but the reason is their naturally the best due to how they’re wired.
Scientific facts?
Yep, I just wrote much the same. Presa Canarios is another breed like that.
@@anonymouse9833
Yes , dog breeding for certain traits is definitely based on science , genetics.
@@anonymouse9833 what do you think it has to do with? Playskool tech? Yes it;s science, humans, animals, etc. all science my dear
This is so relatable. My pitbull is 8 years old and over 100 pounds and she doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body HOWEVER I know if she wanted to she could kill someone and I make sure that opportunity never happens. It’s so easy to be a responsible pet owner. People in cases like this give us and pitbulls bad reps. I hate it

Can someone answer this question. Why do the defendants get so upset about paying the lawsuit when I thought the peoples court pays it?? I’ve seen so many comments where people say the court pays the lawsuits, so what am I missing here? Does the court pay it then they go after the defendant? I’m confused
A lot of these cases are out of principle so they're genuinely mad that they lost. Also because of the funding formula the show uses, a defendant who loses is going to get less money out of the participant fund than a defendant who wins.
@@umtozzi wow makes sense, thank you!
Arrogance. They just don't like being found at fault.

I wouldn't want a nurse addressing me with an open wound. Just because you can, doesn't mean other people should.
Depends on the hospital. hospital here you cannot work with patients with an open wound. Only place that may be ok that is visible is a bandage on the ear. anywhere else nope not happening.
I would NOT want a nurse with an open puncture would giving me care. Nope.
Pitbulls aren't the same PEOPLE! I LOVE ALL DOGS, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
It's not like Poodles and small breeds do not roam the neighborhood, its just that,
1. People tend not to notice them as much

Some people like to be connected with "edgy" threatening things. Wack jobs.

The defendant is treating this like it was a car that got damaged or something like that, not a living creature.
