Singer Peter Wolf was a DJ and his college roommate was director David Lynch. Peter was married to actress Faye Dunaway from the Bonnie and Clyde movie. Their song “Love Stinks” came out of their divorce. The J. Geils Band were a Top 5 live act from the 70’s to this early 80’s version their most popular song here. Great reaction guys!
Omigoodness. I remember running out and buying a pair of them saddle shoes when this song came out. 😄 I've always loved them, and saved my coins from my after school job to buy a pair. They were cheap and didn't last very long. I've since invested in a better quality pair! A favorite of mine by them is 'Give it to Me'. That song brings back great memories of house parties!
J.Geils Band is the greatest live band!!! I saw this tour which was at the height of their popularity and before lead singer Peter Wolf left. He was a master at working the crowd. All the girls were throwing bras and panties up on stage! 😂😮 You should check out I Do live...their shows really are like that!
Love J. Geils Band! Saw them live in 1981 in San Francisco with George Thorogood & the Destroyers and headliner, Rolling Stones. My very favorite J Geils song is "Musta Got Lost" (the live version on the album - Blow Your Face Out - is much better than the studio version). I think you'd like it a lot. I don't know if there is a video to go with it, but I do hope you still check it out one day. I'll be watching for your reaction.
Yes, you said J. Geil's Band correct the first time (GUY-lz) loved this reaction to a classic 80's BOP! The claps! The whisting! This is the same band that sings "Love Stinks". If you watched "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler then you know 😂
You have to figure that for every girl you saw in a magazine there were a lot of guys who remember them from school. Happened to me and I assume thousands of others.
the first concert I ever went to see was the j. geils band, and it happened to be the week "centerfold" went to number one. when they did "centerfold" the crowd went crazy. "freeze frame" was also amazing. an unknown little Irish band opened the concert for them by the name of U2. I remember bono was wearing a checkered vest with no shirt underneath. he looked and sounded amazing. I honestly remember him doing "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" it was quite a first concert! thanks for posting!
You will need to listen and watch The J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame official video and react to it. The song is catchy. Then you can rock out with their Whammer Jammer, thanks
This whole record was fire. I had never heard of them before this and it came out when I was a freshman in high school. Angel in Blue and Rage in a Cage became two of my favorites.
@@bamachine I did say the whole album was fire. All of them were great, but these two were the b sides that I really liked. Their sound was so different from anyone else at the time. I still have this record in my collection.
@@jeffreystone22 Yeah, was joking about "POTW" a little, even though it was good too. Like I said, it was one of the first albums(well cassette tapes) I ever bought. Along with "Synchronicity" by The Police and one of the K-Tel "Hits of 1982". Got all three of them for like 5 bucks apiece, at a flea market(bootleg tapes) in '84.
Jay Geils and Kurt Cobain were both born on February 20th, crazy that you mentioned Nirvana. (I just discovered this after i watched, i didn't know this off the top of my head.)
Ok, although this song is fun, it was the start of the breakup of this band. Go back to 70’s J. Geils Band songs. Check out live performances circa 1977 at The Winterland. Songs like Homework, First I Look At the Purse, Ain’t Nothing But a Party, Musta Got Lost and many more. Jay Geils was the guitarist for years, he died some years back. Peter Wolf, the singer, still performs with another band called The Midnight Travelers. Peter is one of the nicest people in the music business.
It is pronounced exactly as you said it. Damn! What a blast from the past! Helluva plot for a song. One day I saw one of my nieces was in porn on the internet. I can't tell you how that killed my soul. Last time I ever saw porn. Goddamit. I didn't expect to cry at this song.
A Boston band from the 70’s -80’s, can’t tell you how many times I had seen them live back then living in Boston. One of my favorites from them is the live version of a tune called House Party. It’s more of a rock tune compared to Centerfold.
You have to be the first reactor to say the name right. You need to react to something earlier in their career,I would really love to see what you would think of Give it to Me. I would almost guarantee that you would love it.
This is when J. Geils Band lost me as a fan. They became too "radio friendly" for me. I saw them LIve in 1976, right after the Blow Your Face Out Live album was released. They put on a great show. Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes were the opening act and were booed off the stage. Sorry Johnny. In my opinion for essential J. Geils Band just listen to anything from the Full House album or the Blow Your Face Out album as an alternative. Again, in my opinion, I think that J. Geils is one of the few bands that sound better live than in the studio. R.I.P. John Warren Geils Jr..
They have far better music than this. Dig into their earlier catalog especially Full House Live. This is a great song but it has pop overtones whereas their earlier music is flat out jam! Trust me. I graduated in 1973 and saw J Geils twice. Everyone had their Full House Live album and it was the ultimate house party music.
I'm not sure why you talk during the vid. We can't hear you! I'd rather you pause, because I'm interested in what you have to say. Seriously we can NOT hear you when you do that. Sorry, it's annoying.
As a high school graduate in 1984 this song was HUGE. And we got flooded with this video on MTV great memories

I Didn’t know they were married. Wow
I didn't know most of those facts, thank you.
One of the guys in the band directed it.
Freeze Frame is a great song too, same album.
If I had a nickel for each time I listened to this as a girl growing up in the 80s I'd be rich. Thanks so much ❤💰💲👍
Me and you, both! 😂❤
Lead singer was a DJ at WBCN Boston back in the day...
Great band for what they did and fun to see in concert all very good musicians!! J Giels was the guitar player .
J GEILS BAND - Give it to Me is another big one of theirs.
I forgot about that one. Great song.
You have to do his "I Musta Got Lost" song too, the live version. It's a great story as well and just as much fun. Great reaction!
This song gives me Stacy's Mom vibes.
If you haven't see the video of Stacy's Mom, you've missed out! Group is: Fountains of Wayne
He's disappointed and heartbroken... but he still buys the magazine.
I would too 😂
Wamma Jamma, Ain’t nothing but a house party, so many great J Geils tunes

You all need to listen to the baby’s, isn’t it time. I need to see you all freak out on it!

If that was my class every day god i die happy. I love J. Geils band their very underrated. They got slot of bangers.
One of the GREAT live bands ever….
Great fun song ❤
The first time I've ever seen a reactor get their name right! You guys should check out, "Angel In Blue" from the same album!❤
You have to figure that for every girl you saw in a magazine there were a lot of guys who remember them from school. Happened to me and I assume thousands of others.
My very first concert was The J Geils Band. They were great live.
You guys are fun to watch.

This video came around at the right time in my life.
I loved this song, I don't remember this video though, probably just as well in 1981 when I was 15...
Saw them 1983 Dallas. Sat on second row threw a joint on stage. Back then you could smoke pot at in door concerts.
You will need to listen and watch The J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame official video and react to it. The song is catchy. Then you can rock out with their Whammer Jammer, thanks
Angels. Best thing about high school.
Great song, i remember it like it was yesterday.
They were so much cooler in the 70's, First I look at the Purse and Musta Got Lost are a couple of songs you ought to check out.
Haven't heard this one in awhile thank you!
Freeze Frame is great too
Still a BANGER 🔥🔥🔥 LOVE U Guys reaction 😂❤
Keep up the good work you three you doing good
Love you guys reactions, and Corey love how you get into it.makes me smile.
This whole record was fire. I had never heard of them before this and it came out when I was a freshman in high school. Angel in Blue and Rage in a Cage became two of my favorites.
What, no "Piss On The Wall"? j/k, that was one of the first albums I ever owned. I was also a freshman in high school when the album dropped.
@@bamachine I did say the whole album was fire. All of them were great, but these two were the b sides that I really liked. Their sound was so different from anyone else at the time. I still have this record in my collection.

Interesting!
My jam!
That song took me back to grade school n little league. It was part of my every day life.. thank you for taking me back to my simpler days guys.
Love J.Geils Band and actually had this album(still have it,lol) I also loved Freeze Frame and Flamethrower off the same album..Love y`alls reaction!
1:55 yo, you didn’t have to do that… you just told him the whole man and his words are crystal clear so they’re going to hear these lyrics
Shitfire you take me back in time. I love it!
Try “I’m Looking For A Love” live, 1974, Old Grey Whistle tv show

Great reaction guys. Centerfold is a fun song/video but my favorite J Geils Band song would be Freeze Frame - you should check it out.
We will!
You got the name correct 👍🏻
I prefer older J Geils music, especially the Bloodshot album, really jamming old music.
Shit a playboy club was right down the street before i was old enough to go there. Cheektowaga NY
One of the girls in my High School in the 60s. Was a playboy bunny.
Love stinks or freezeframe by them
I could see the Stones doing a cover of this
You Guys should listen up to Whammer Jammer by J Girls Band.
Now it’s only fans moments instead of magazines 😂
They have a song called Flame Thrower that you should check out. Luther Vandross and Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) are singing background on it.
Peter Wolf 😉👍🏻💪🏻
You have to be the first reactor to say the name right. You need to react to something earlier in their career,I would really love to see what you would think of Give it to Me. I would almost guarantee that you would love it.
USA roller rink this song and grab any girl by the hand and skate.
Nirvana might have borrowed the cheerleader scen for Teen Spirit...
Check out some Boz Scaggs.
Ah yes, the 80's 😄
Another favorite song in the strip clubs back in the day.

This put money in their pockets, but, SERVE YOU RIGHT TO SUFFER, HOMEWORK, FIRST I LOOK AT THE PURSE.
Not really many magazines today. More like Angel is an Onlyfans Girl.
Correct pronunciation way to go fellas
Guy ells
Mr peter wolf has the moves Better than mr jaggers😮❤️🤘
J. Geils is wearing Trump sneakers at 3:15 in this video.
Their older songs are much better.
You guys really should’ve listened to the lyrics a little clearer, they get a little bit dirty lol
Hugh Heffner Playboy parties early to mid-80s...enough said.
Whammer Jammer…
Magic Dick 🔥

Always hated this song. Still do
The music video is hideous. I cringe thinking about how many times I've seen it. Sheesh, just do the audio for my sake from now on 😅
