There is only a small time frame when you care actually ‘riding’ the motorcycle in second or higher gear. Only true men even enter this race. These men are the toughest riders on the planet, at the toughest race on the planet. Thanks for posting!
I love this race this is one of the reasons why I switch from Motocross the hard enduro I needed more of a challenge than motocross could gave me this is my favorite race ever 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸💪

Nasty hard rides. I think the rocky section looked the hardest. If you try to go fast you will smash your bike up and your out I know on a rail Railroad Trussell the faster you ride the smother it’s gets . Hill climbs are fun.
Rock Quarry took the hole shot with Feld Spar hot on his heals. The pack of also rans found the going a bit rocky but thought it must get easier up ahead. Little did they suspect that the coarse becomes far more stone strewn and steeper up ahead. The first twenty miles a comparative walk in the park to the last forty miles that begins to separate the men from the boys.

So, if you can’t get past an obstacle or whatever, are you just out of the race? Some of those hills look like they must have knocked out 90% of the participants.

I know when I bought my 790 a couple years ago, half the engines were made in Austria and the other half were outsourced to China if I recall correctly. People were pissed about that.

from what I've read it's due to weight and power to weight ratio, some still ride 4 strokes but lots do ride like 300cc two strokes
