Great song. Haven't heard it for years. It sounds so distinctly British now in retrospect. You can almost hear Pentangle/ancient folk song in those melancholy chord changes. Beautiful.
First song I ever heard by them after discovering it in a britpop documentary in the late 2000s when they gave a backstory on the music scene at the time in England prior to the britpop explosion.
You're rushing for a time that you don't know Curious of what your feelings are you go Losing sight of that familiar touch you know Sinking into unknown beauty for a day Living everything as it comes and goes The only times you know have passed away Now you're looking back where everything seems here Scared of letting all that comfort disappear Losing sight of that familiar touch you know Sinking into unknown beauty for a day Living everything as it comes and goes The only times you know have passed away
I cannot believe I found this. Not heard this since forever. Saw them play in Aberdeen circa 1992 and was blown away. I'm getting quite emotional now. One of the best songs of the era.
That bassline. Simple, driving and mixed perfectly to give it weight.
One of my fav to play when I whip the bass out! Great for a warmup to
Best band of my generation and I'm 52.
The Roses and Ride pretty much soundtracked my life from 89-94. 51 now, seems like yesterday.

Probably my favorite Ride song. Brilliant. Saw Ride play with Lush in Washington D.C. at the 9:30 Club. Mindblowing! (1990?)
Awkwardist Productions That must've been an awesome show. I never got to watch Ride live, but I have seen Lush in concert.
I saw that same tour ("Nowhere"), but in Aberdeen, Scotland, where I was stationed at the time... A crown jewel show, for sure.
Massive track mate
1992
Just imagining it now ...
this song is my best favorite song of ride.

It’s not especially obscure.
THE SONG of the shoegazing
Ride truly had the best drumming in the shoegaze scene
cocteau twins angelhood
Love those bands.
it must be their best song.
the epitome of indie music
Thank you. I have had this drumming in my head all day. Curse you Ride, you were too good!
GonsalvoDeCordova *are. They've reformed!
@@Aphelion819 Re-formed, and fortunately not reformed ;^)
Utterly brilliant. Encapsulates a time that we DID know
This record is just heavenly!
Ride is playing in Los Angeles in February and are rumored to play the whole album - Nowhere! I've already bought a ticket and can't wait
I saw them yesterday and yes, they played the whole album plus this song and some more, like leave it all behind
So, how was the show?!
Ride at the peak of their powers. `91 rools
Where on earth was I when you were wrote this album? 30 years later and I've discovered you, by pure chance ❤
ride es lo mejor
saw them in Brighton many many moons ago- fantastic band.
fuckin brilliant a loyal band while I was at sea
Loz Colbert's drumming was great, if not outstanding in the early 90s.
Great
Bought this ep when it was released. It actually sounds better now than it did then
Sounds best laying out in the sun 😎
