What I love about Evan's channel is that he's clearly still having fun with it, even as it grows and becomes more of a full-time job. I've been on RUclips long enough to watch a lot of creators burn out and it's always heartbreaking because as viewers we are a bottomless pit for creative output, and I just hope Evan does whatever he needs to do in order to be happy and make sure his needs are met first.

@6:42 a lot of channels change the thumbnails after the video has been up for 6/12/24 hours (I forget which), but there was some sort of explanation given on one channel too. If I remember correctly there's a different type of thumbnail that appeals to the "ooh, a new video dropped" crowd and subscribers, compared to those looking through older videos (literally a day older). I don't know if there was any truth to that, but for example Good Mythical Morning does this same thing, where their videos have a different thumbnail for the first 12ish hours, and then they switch to a new one for the long tail end of the video's lifespan.
The changing thumbnails is very common by now for algorithm optimization. Im not surprised that that even spawned companies that make a business out of it
