  • Zambezi Records, Zambia, 1985. Skips a couple of times on each side but the sound on Side A is good otherwise. Check Discogs account BudgiesBeak for this and other African records.

This song is a patriotic one as a tribute to a gallant economic soldier in every miner in Zambia. As a former miner I am always at pain to understand why any party that comes into government has not granted a Zambian miner a special day like other professionals. This country needs to honour our brothers who perished in the Mufulira underground mine tragedy that happened on 25th September 1970 where 89 lives were lost and indeed other fellow miners who died while on duty underground and on other surface mine areas. I always look forward to a time when this will be a realty by declaring 25th September every year as a National Miners Day. This is one of the reasons that make me still harbour the aspiration for a position in government.
