thanks for your comments and likes. great fun at Pomona swap.....The 58 RED VERT bug was a really good deal. Hard to find a small tail light car vert. It had the original tail lights all the inner panels were straight. Under the hood had a little wrinkle on the right side. Some undercoating under the hood. All body tags were present and matching pan and body numbers.
I admired those pre-historic bugs with the split rear window.
Yeah, there isn’t a lot of this in my area in the Midwest. I miss those days of driving whatever, wherever, whenever. Cool it was on my Birthday though. Thanks for sharing!
Been a few years since I've been to Pomona. Always good deals and nice cars.
Steve Foreign Car parts Downey. I worked there in 1983-1985. Damn, they had same matrix printer and old software dbase, lotus and wordprfedect. Damn that was a commuter museum . Well, you can’t get internet . The workers now use there phones. Great memories Frank Martinez Downey California
Steve's is still there, I stopped in last year, the new owners are nice but don't know / care about vintage VW's .

WOW ~ I've not gone since 2016 and that was a parts buying trip for my '59 #113 .
So many open spaces ~ I remember being turned away in my split window for lack of space .
Time to go again I think, I need a hood and R/F fender for my survivor '59 .
Plus of course just to wander about and look at all the cool old cars .

check the OCTO bus show has a huge swap. Pomona is pretty dead now.

Im not sure i only go on the samba to find events. a few other places like San Diego air cooled website and others. @@VWNate1

While I agree that convertible was a good price in terms of the last five years, just wait for next year, you’re going to see people dumping things like nobody’s business. Prices are on the way down big-time. Gather your cash now and just wait. This is just my personal opinion of course.
on everything across the board. but as soon as it bottoms out they will go right back up as the economy heals.
