I bought the 64gb LCD Steam Deck when it launched & upgraded the SSD to 1TB, a year later I ended up winning a 512GB OLED Steam Deck & have been running it ever since
I've written elsewhere that the gray buttons were the absolute best choice they could've made. It reminds me of my childhood GBA. Another commenter under ETA Prime's video mentioned that it had Dreamcast vibes. White-ish with gray buttons is a classic look that needs to make a comeback. Hopefully this is the first of many in that color scheme.
I've had the LCD model since they were released and reluctantly passed on the first limited edition in the transparent grey with orange accents. I kept eyeing this one up and finally grabbed one after seeing this and the video Russ posted.
1. That’s a Mumba case, not Supcase. Skull & Co. has a better and lighter case in that cutout style (i own both) 2. The smokey translucent LE looks nicer.
I'm giving my partner the current modified LCD variant that I have, and this will be my final handheld purchase until Valve's next release. No sense in spec-chasing over the next year, as the handheld space is going to be very competitive in 2025. The Deck is the perfect indie machine for me, so I'll stick to those expectations for handheld gaming experiences until the "Steam Deck 2" arrives. Okay, and yes, perhaps I'll buy a "Switch 2" as well -- sue me.
As in Portal - "The cake (err white Steam Deck) is a lie". No this is NOT white. More like off-white. That carrying case quote "on the toilet" sums it up too. The design is dropping a deuce.
@theLonelyLemnn I don't think so. I wish Value showed what material they used for the coating because if you owned one it's not just white. It has a very light pink hue to the white steam deck. I bought one and the texture and color isn't like what you see in this video. I think Value knew what they were doing when they thought about the white edition however time will tell.

What's your thoughts on the White OLED model? Pretty or pretty meh? Next, Green?

@@guardianbeardizer6361 where did you win it?
@Apears4 it was a FB community I was a part of for a while. They disbanded in September sadly, but I'm sure there's more like it
White Steam Deck is amazing. But black Steam Deck is master piece.

That case will get so filthy so quickly. The deck itself is gorgeous.
Tomtoc armor case man
I got one too! It's so f'n cool. I've never had one, neither a SteamDeck nor an Ally nor any of the others, so it's pretty revelatory.

Glossy screen always looks better, in the right setting. Etched glass is more functional but less oomphy
waiting for this to arrive at my door later today
For me Black looks better than white and glossy looks better than etched.
I bought my 512 LCD with the etched screen when the OLED came out for a fraction of the price thanks for the discount
Don’t regret it it’s perfect

Does it taste like Mayonnaise too?
It does!
I got white steam deck on this week and my question is d pad had loose? Its a normal problem?
Love the content man! Keep up the good work!
Ally went from white to black while SD went the opposite lol
You putting a screen protector on it?
Is it just me or my oled is takeing forever to ship smh it’s been 5 days
I really wanted one of these, but in my country, my only option is $1600 on eBay. I could look at doing a shell swap I guess
It reminds me so much the white psp from back in the day
Reminds me of my old commodore 64... Very tempting.
I just found a limited edition oled the clear shell at my local pawn shop, got it for a steal, but the buttons are sticking
I'll stick to my black LCD one but did the 2TB upgrade
I have the LE smokey one and it looks better.
She's a beauty!

Props to people who dig it, but we're gonna see loads of posts about them turning yellow like the 360 controllers.

Wow!
Once you go black....

it's a scam and a cash grab. Very disappointing from valve.

I think the hyper-saturated, red-orange thumbsticks make the translucent grey Steamdeck look jarring and very ugly. But that's just my opinion.
