Truth - Inner Circle is a wonderful, supportive community. Highly recommend. 😊. AND Jamie is in the community nearly every day. He answers posts and comments & reacts. He is very accessible and of course he is a fantastic instructor. And there are several features he runs that are fun and informative. Well worth your pennies.
Fabulous concise lesson for what to use for soloing. This is a new pentatonic scale idea for me thats simple and easy to get under your fingers. Love your motifs and how you pivot them. Such a cool and brilliant idea. I thought other musicians were changing the key when they did something similar sounding to this. Many thanks to you, Jamie. Can’t wait to try this when i get back home. 😅❤
Compliments on your playing with Joan Armatrading. Just caught it on BBC 2. One of my favourite musicians and song writer. She plays a mean guitar. Loved your sax and flute solos.
Je tiens à te remercier personnellement pour toutes ces vidéos. Je joue en autodidacte depuis 7 mois. Et grâce à toi je suis en train de faire des progrès exponentiels. Merci merci merci 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much, Mr Anderson. From May...every day im practice of yours "Daily practice". That is not boring. That is interesting. I feel like my technique getting better and better. Sometimes I make mistakes from that lesson...i make that mistakes every day. Thanks for good advice. This information is very useful!
Missed this one! So I recently have been listening to the band Morphine from the 90's and was wondering if you would do one of their bari solos for a video at some point?
Thank you for your many great videos. To me the solo as you play it is a little monotonous. Is that because off the pentatonic scale that I never have though about when having a solo? (I’m a swing/bop player). I would like to make a solo when the melody is shining through.
This was great thanks Jamie! I think I’ve intuitively been doing this a bit since learning your magic “find the key” in the home note trick in that delightful earlier video with your daughter. Lately I’ve been experimenting while I’ve been busking with filling in gaps on songs I play as practice towards creating solos but in a very small way but I’m still very much in beginner mode and struggling with theory!
Thank you. I have been stealing Maceo licks for this very reason. Who else would you suggest, any of you, to hear more examples of funky and exciting pentatonic solos?
Hey Jamie, another great video! Hey, how are you doing with the selection of your new employees? Are you still looking for people or have you already chosen your new members?
Thanks Jamie - you have total tone mastery with now the all new, sparkling and shiny - total solo discouragement 🥴😒😏! But seriously, tell me, were you adding a smattering of "growl" to your playing to get that sound ?
Question :me and my friend play the saxophone and she tell me to just play then play notes on top of the flow of air, but i always play note one by one with each blow of air, any ideas and i noticed you took breaths in between of the pentatonic is that something that is recommended.

Brilliant, Jamie. This lesson couldn't be better timed for me. I'm sick of sounding like pentatonic Pete.!
Happy to help!
As always, your passion for teaching and illustration to improve our sax quality is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much Jaime

Hmmm. Might not be well known enough tbh. I haven’t even done Rio etc yet! 🤣
I have to play a solo that is 19 measures long and im so nervous because its so many people😭😭😭 THIS GUY HELPS SO MUCH
Anytime!
Excellent tips! I'd love to see these applied to a jazz standard, medium swing for contrast.
🙏🏻

Yeh it’s a teaching video I guess!

Great! Keep on exploring! 👍
I'm confused over this 'home note' thing? Bit vague. Do you mean the root note (tonic?) of the key the piece is in?
Yup. 👍🏻
It's very very hard to beat the noodling habits 😅
True!
Thank you. I have been stealing Maceo licks for this very reason. Who else would you suggest, any of you, to hear more examples of funky and exciting pentatonic solos?
Listen to Fire Eater by Rusty Bryant 👍🏻
Nailed it! What else ya got. Haha. Thank you! This style feels so powerful and free. I'm having fun playing along with it.
Excellent tips as always Jamie.
I'm curious about the sound though, very rocky! What mouthpiece are you using in this lesson?
Vintage Otto Link, Florida model. Thanks!
Hey Jamie, another great video! Hey, how are you doing with the selection of your new employees? Are you still looking for people or have you already chosen your new members?
It's still a work in progress.
@@GetYourSaxTogether awesome, thanks man👌

Yes!
Great tips 👍. Too many solos lack a melodic or rhythmic relationship with the song itself and could be dumped into any old song with the same chords.
Thanks!

I don't really know what you mean if I'm honest? You don't usually use one puff of air per note if that's what you mean.
Are you humming while you are playing
Yes. Check out this video on growling: ruclips.net/video/KC31m8d0cWU/видео.html
Excellent lesson! You gotta stop or there'll be way too many great sax players! 😅
🤣
i knew it. I need to make my hole face embouchure, like Jamie does. then i will be invited back to the gig.
🤣
