I love the stick bundles! What a great idea. They say wood heats you three times, once when you cut it, once when you stack it, and once when you burn it!!! So true!!!
If you have never witnessed a massive tree fall to the ground, you have missed something awesome. In October we hired a man to take down a huge dead oak in our front yard. Taking down a tree, even though dead, is a sad thing. But sadder it is if it fell on someone. For weeks before it was dropping large branches so we knew it was time. When the mighty oak came down I burst into tears at the immense sound and the earthquake-like reverberation in the ground. It is quite unforgettable. It was sad, terrifying, thrilling and awesome at the same time, hence the tears. We counted its rings. It was 78 years old! What a gift from God is a tree! Now we too have all this firewood for years to come. Thanks Tessie for sharing your experience. ♥
Hanging clothes outside makes them smell so good. That was a big tree once upon a time. You always find lots to do Tessie. Have a great evening everyone!
Gotta love the clothesline! If I can't hang them outside, I can usually still hang them in my green house. It takes about the same amount of time to dry. I just turn on a box fan in the green house and cracked the door open, so it doesn't become too damp in there. We had to move our clothesline this year too. We decided that we want to fence around our orchard so the chickens can safely free range in there. The chicken coop (aka Fluffy Butt Hut) is at the far end of the orchard so we can fence right around it. We purchased the fence off Craigs List, but we won't have the time to install it until next summer.🙂
My father-in-law used to say "two is one and one is none" quite often. I believe it is a military term. He was a retired master sergeant. He said you never wanted to be out on a mission with just one item. It definitely has worked around our homestead. We have the back up for the back up.
My hubby loves woodworking. He has made furniture, bowls, toys for grandkids. He will be so sad when he sees big trees cut down and tossed. He has cut trees and taken them to a sawyer to be cut into beautiful lumber he uses for the things he built. Black walnut is especially beautiful when he finishes it with the varnish. He burns all the scraps in his work shop wood stove.
Beautiful and peaceful video Tessie. Live your fire starter bundles. I use empty toilet paper rolls and stuff lint from the dryer in them. They sure help getting that fire started. You rock Tessie. Have a blessed day friend
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Wednesday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all :-) Keep Smiling be safe :-)
Hi, Tessie. You sure did have a busy day. That stump went over very easily-good thing you took it down and glad no one got hurt. It's wonderful that you've been able to add all that wood to the piles. Thank you for the fizzy cleaner recipe. I tried a different one in the past, without success, so I'll try this one. Hope you have a restful evening! 😊
Thank you for sharing your idea about the bundled small branches and twigs for use as kindling. I'll definitely make some. And I want to make some of the soap fizzy too. Thank you for sharing with us, Tessie🤗.
7:41 pm I LOVE watching your channel from Nebraska!! It makes me nervous watching your husband use the chainsaw without eyewear. Years ago we were burning wood and my husband was cutting wood down in the timber by himself and when he was sawing hit a knot in the wood and it kicked back and cut his face wide open. A very traumatic experience as he had to drive home like that. He recovered but after several surgeries he was still left with lasting scars 😢 Keep up the good work being so genuine and informative 😊
Awe Tessie..... You are truly living the simpler life. Your always thinking how to use everything up and not let anything go to waste. I love it! The bath fizzles you make, should you use the bigger molds or the smaller molds for toilet, dishes, and whatever you are going to clean with? Also, do you know if this would work in a dishwasher?
@marybethsmith6458 Wow Marybeth, That Is AMAZING My Friend 🤗, I'm Sure That Your Parenting Skills Had A Great Deal To Do With That! Hope You Have A Relaxing Evening Marybeth, GOD Bless, Andrea
Ya'll got alot of work done! Your husband need a splitter. We had one when we had a wood stove. It saves so much time snd work. I picked up the scraps for kindling too. And made homemade fire starters. I still have alot of them. Lol. How long does it take for the fizzies to dry in the mold before you can put them in the jar? Thank you so much Tessie, I love the diy's and tecipes! ❤❤😊😊
Hi Tessie, I love making those fizzies. I use mine for cleaning the toilets. I use tea tree oil. Glad you were able to get that tree down safely. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Tessie, You got a strong Man there Wow how fun is that love it though it being rotten so much it was easier to knock down that must have been satisfying soap looks good :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
The bath fizzy's sound great! I will have to make some of them. Do you think they will work when you have hard water? We have a filtration system on our house well water, but we do not have a water softener. The buildup isn't bad since I deep clean the bathrooms once per week.
That tree gave yall a good amount of wood. You should have enough bath bombs to do a while. Isn't it nice to have a husband who can do the work needed. Mr Ken is a good one.
It's awesome to have free wood!! Here in south-east Iowa, we have had a massive problem with the Ash Borer. They have killed many Ash trees so "free wood" is plentiful right now. We have both sides of our woodshed full (two years' worth) plus an additional 2 years' worth of wood stacked in our wood yard. We do have a very large log splitter. Kenny is going to really enjoy that once he is able to purchase one. My dad bought ours, just because he enjoys helping us, so we didn't have that expense.
I'm so glad you made the fizzies! I've been wanting to see it done. Glad you and Ken got the wood safely! Thank you for sharing Tessie! God bless you 😊❤
Seems like we shoulda heard bionic man music you know when he does something bionic. It just looked like that. Lol. I loved it! Well have a good evening sis. Lord bless you both❤❤❤
That prayer at the end of the video was beautiful! Thank you Tessie for posting it! and....I can not believe that a clothes line would be considered "Old Fashioned"!!! LOL
The fizzy bath bombs I’ve had were actually for use in the bathtub for soaking not cleaning. I think I’d want them called fizzy cleaner instead of bath to avoid confusion.
Love your kinddling bundles. We have a wood furnace that heats the whole house, and this would be sooo convenient for my dil. Bless you Tessie. I look forward to seeing your videos every day. If you don't have a new one that day I just watch one of your old ones❤
I’ve always wondered why you have not been replacing the shade trees on your property, so that you would have shade on the house and hopefully cut down the ac bill? I know there is always the risk of storm damage, maybe it’s not worth it.
Can someone tell me if tessie told people about the coffee and newspaper bricks. Hope she will tell people about them ....FREE HEAT they last about 3 hours
I love the stick bundles! What a great idea. They say wood heats you three times, once when you cut it, once when you stack it, and once when you burn it!!! So true!!!
It's kinda scary how easy the stump was to push over. I'm glad it didn't fall on anyone. 😮
I know right makes you wonder how it was standing lol
I thought the very same thing regarding that. I'm really glad nothing bad ended up happening.

Such a beautiful day on your homestead.

Yes! Always use eyewear. It's wisdom and God protects us through using wisdom.
Just a thought, you could check with your town office for free wood. Happy Thanksgiving.

Loved your firewood and clothes line move.
How long do you leave the soapy stuff in the molds? Do you freeze them as well?
24 hours ,no do not freeze they get hard air dry
