For those who made the same mistake I did, if you get to the installing Windows stage and the installer exits saying "Windows cannot identify some drives on this device" it's because the micro SD card is still in the Steam Deck and Windows cannot identify those until you've installed drivers.
Edit: The solution to this is you just remove the micro SD card. If you follow this tutorial there's nothing on the card required for Windows installation. So you remove it, install Windows, download the Steam Deck drivers for Windows which includes one for the SD card reader, then you can insert the micro SD and use it for SteamOS and/or Windows.

    • @ED4T

yes the sd card is shared by both OS. you can add games from both os to the same sd card. if you eject the sdcard, everything store on the sdcard will be not accessible.
the sd card is divided into 2 partitions one for steam os and one for windows. so they did not mess up with each.

you don't have to redo the entire process. you can just reinstall windows.
      after Windows is reinstalled.
after you reinstalled Windows and now it boots directly to Windows instead of Clover!
this is how to fix it:
      1. Shutdown the Steam Deck. While powered OFF, press VOLDOWN + POWER and select SteamOS from the list.
      2. Script will automatically fix the dual boot entries! Reboot and it will go back to Clover!

@ Ed, Thanks for valuable reply. I believe the problem is when I set up my WiFi. FYI - I did download & installed Tiny 11 22H2 Beta1 successfully. But I noticed, after your step in turning on my WiFi, suddenly there were some downloads of Windows updates. Cannot understand why this happens, especially when UPDATES shown as "pause for 1 week". I then notice my (C) Local Drive is RED and now with only 414MB! I also noticed, and I think this is where to problem originates -- I did not see the Secure Digital storage device. So I then pulled out my SD card and reladed it & then the SD card suddenly appears on "This PC". Does the SD card need to be shown in "This PC" as well? I am now totally confused since everything up until I was ready to install the drivers went perfectly. But obviously, no point in moving forward. Any thoughts?? Can I backtrack in order to correct this problem, or do I need to start again. Unfortunately, I need to have some idea as to why, the darn updates appear to start downloading into my Local Disk (C): for no good reason. HELP PLEASE!!! Choose "Boot from file".
      Select esp/efi/steamos/steamcl.efi.
Wait until SteamOS boots (there will be a blank screen for some time, but Steam should start after that).
      Go to desktop mode.
      Open Konsole.
EDIT: if you never used sudo then type passwd and press Enter. Then set up your password that you will have to use whenever you run sudo.
      Run following command:
      sudo efibootmgr -c -L "SteamOS" -l "\EFI\steamos\steamcl.efi" -d /dev/nvme0n1p1
This will add a boot menu option for SteamOS.

it is one line command (in mobile apps it might be seen as multiple lines)
